This is so good to hear. The trailers did not have me excited... but I was really hoping it would be a nice one to take my daughter to. She has cerebral palsy and loves to go to the theater with me... I'm so happy to hear this is a good one.
This movie was supposed to come out on my Mom’s birthday, but the date got moved up. She passed away in January of last year, and I made myself a promise that I would go and see movies that I know she would have loved. As soon as I heard the premise, I knew this was going to be one of those movies.
I’m so, so glad to hear that all of these reviews are pointing that this is going to be a great film.
If that’s the case be prepared to cry. I saw it on weekend at uk advance screenings. With the story you’re saying it will most likely touch your soul hard

My daughter is 10 and this is one of her most anticipated movies of the year. She’s so excited about this film. I’m taking her on Friday.

Fabulous movie went to see then ended up seeing it again the following day in fact enjoyed it mire the second time around. There was a special preview screening in the UK last weekend. I highly recommend it

Asa Walking Dead fan, I’ll go see it for Cailey Fleming. Her plus Ryan and John K, I’m sure I’ll enjoy it.
Unfortunately this movie will flop. This is why I don’t get ppl saying Hollywood doesn’t make original films anymore. This will be a perfect example of there being a great original film and no one will see it.

The studios don’t have faith in originality so they spend as little money as possible

Not to be like that but my issue with this movie is that it's kind of not original. A lot of it bites off of Foster's home
I'm definitely intrigued by this movie, it has a Greatest Showman-ish kind of vibe where it catches your attention but you're unsure what to expect but then (hopefully) you come out stunned and surprised by the results! We shall see, looks fun!
Greatest showman had the advantage of coming out at Christmas when word of mouth works cos theres nothing out for another month

I’m incredibly curious about this movie, because it looks like one that can either be super cute and charming or absolutely blow, watching the marketing for this movie makes me go “I can’t tell if I hate this or love this” Like I’m serious, I genuinely don’t know, and so I’m very interested to see what side of the spectrum it actually ends up falling on for me
I have never cried so much at a film and I am a 6ft 2 tough acting man 😂😂. Think it was more to do with me thinking about my childhood and missing the past.

Rob brought up Van Wilder, I'll bring up an earlier work: Two Guys & a Girl formerly known as Two Guys, A Girl & A Pizza Place. Even in the rough 1st Season you can still see Reynolds has that IT factor. But of course he really explodes in the 2nd Season where he shows this guy is here to stay & he's a leading man/romantic lead. Yeah I'm not gonna pretend I love everything he's been in (* Cough* Origins/Red Notice *Cough Cough Violent Cough*) but I've never truly got this Vitriolic Hate that people have for him.

Reminds me of Wonka. Didn't get excited from the marketing, though it would be another dumb kids movie, but it wound up surprising me in the best way. Maybe this will be the same.

Honesty the trailers just aren’t great they don’t show enough of the film imo. I just don’t have an enough interest in it but maybe I will go see it.

Early reactions are almost always positive and provide no real indication if the movie is good or not. Case in point, IF is rotten on RT right now.
Not sure why a segment is always designated to them when they’re consistently misleading.
It's fun to look at early reactions and compare them to how the movie actually turned out. I gotta admit though, this is a very jarring contrast because usually when a movie is scoring this badly on rotten tomatoes then at least one single early reaction hint at it not being perfect

It looks so predictable. Gaurantee Reynolds will end up being an imaginary friend. The humor in the trailers is cringe af despite me loving almost everyone involved
