Hot wheels have always been popular. I have loads from the late 60s. Yes. They have been popular for 50+ years. I know what you mean though. I used to buy loads at my supermarket but then they stopped selling in around 2021
i think everything that has to do with any collection (Pokemon, Lego, Funko Pops) Everything went up in price because more people and kids have gotten into at least one of those hobbies
I think now days since ebay started or after it has caused resellers / scalpers to buy hw more then ever before to get certain cars just to resell for twice the value any. i use to have hw as a kid but then started getting for any reason and got plenty and gave some to kids for any reason .
Now a days i rarely go hw hunting, so if find cars i real want then cool but if not i just save anytime. have read or heard so much that like box are precheckd so any u might want are already sold or taken ahead of time. so it like 5-50 chance get cars u really want for own enjoyment. i wanted hte new batman movie car and to save time i just got the 5 pack with the car and variety other cars so i saved time searching and just go with a value pack kinda, spent a tad more for the pack but atleast got the car plus any bonus cars
tip for new collectors dont collect JUST for value sure value is something that comes with hotwheels but if you collect just for value it isnt really that good point of collecting diecasts is to get your favorite cars in a small scale it isnt really something to invest all your money in
@@Raze120 still imo collecting for value as you dont enjoy the cars you just keep them so they can be profit in the future (which 99% of the time they arent)
i’ve apparently owned some rare casts of the highway 35 and acceleracers sets since i was a kid. while the cars are probably in poor condition, the memories i’ve got playing with them are worth 50 times what they would’ve sold for otherwise.
Same, i remember that back in the day i had a New Beetle that was quite limited and had lots of cool details along with the dismountable carcass. I was completely unaware of its possible value but i had lots of fun with it. I don't know where it is sadly since i lost it a while ago, but i had great memories of playing with it. Same escenario with a '08 Mitsubishi Lancer Evo and Speed Racer's HotWheels.
Sometimes you do get lucky for instance you might run into a new collector that really wants that car and will overpay for what its worth. Also just the market value changes all the time lol... Its like gold.
Great tip on finding the value of your Hotwheels! Definitely agree with you that your location depends on the value of the car! A muscle car super could be going for 40-50USD in US but in SG, it can only 40-50SGD here!
Prices are strange because they aren’t really worth anything. It’s all demand. The ones that are rare are definitely worth something but the ones people just pay a lot for aren’t worth more than normals. At least that’s how it should be
I started buying these, to have toys for my sisters kid when he comes over--- now, I'm stopping at various shops and poking through the bins to find ones I like.
I have been collecting hot wheels since i was a little boy . At some point , I stopped it . But after a few years I decided to go back collecting hot wheels . My country is close to Singapore but my country doesn't have much hot wheels . Toy's R Us doesn't have cars I want . One car is already RM9.99 which is basiclly RM10 . The rarest one in my collection is The Nissan Skyline C210 . I went online it was selling around RM 170 or more . (Btw , the McLaren F1 I bought it at D Hive I think and it was actually 7 Singapore Dollars so Drifter D said it perfectly)
Today I bought my second and third boxed HWs at my local supermarket (which has a decent HW range) and held the mclaren F1 in my hand, but chose not to buy it. That said though, I live in a very small city (sub 30k residents) so this car has to be really easy to find outside Singapore. This was the only store in town who sold a wide range of cars. The second store that sold HWs had three. I live in Sweden and the supermarket here is in no way as big as a Wallmart.
A real collector doesn’t care how much the value is of a car that you have and hot wheels on eBay and other websites most are from scalpers and we don’t support scalpers!!!!!
What cars do we get in the USA that you can't get over there ? Let's get you some let me know I'll check the Walmart and dollar General in my area and see what they have.
Iv got a few premium cars that I can’t part ways with there just too nice to look at on the shelf n I try my best to not open them but I give in sometimes depending on how much they mean to me
What the fun!? Hahaha. Nice Singaporean accent. I've been watching your vids for so long now because I also collect die-cast toy cars especially hot wheels but I never thought. A Singaporean accent with a Spanish/Latin surname equals Filipino. BTW, amazing content about hot wheels that's not just about the toy cars but also other things about the hobby itself. Salamat!

Hey! Great video. I checked eBay and Amazon to see if the Hot Wheels Play Mat I have has any value (it's old). However, I cannot find any comps. What do you suggest I do to find out if it is rare and has any significant value?
1 question. I have 2 Cars sais that they are hotwheels Brand. It has 1 switch that holds watch batteries and i think its for switching the "lever" to illuminate the light. Is it RARE or fake?
here's a good tip; if you see someone selling beyond their market price on toy store dont buy it..theres more other cars you can find it with out overprice and let that hoarders eat their overpriced cars and die🤣🤣🤣
This helps a ton, I have a pretty big collection of how wheels, and I was wondering how much it was worth. I’m slowly starting to get into collecting them again.

Bro can I send u hot wheels I have see ur thoughts? My friend I let hold onto them ten years ago finally gave them back and they seem like they missing some. I remember like 9 years ago she was saying there was a couple worth a couple hundred but from what she gave back it really seems short like she kept some cars just want to see what’s value
I have this red Subaru Impreza Blobeye Leeway 914 HW off road special edition and it was made way back 2014, and I went on Ebay and the car cost 21 USD, well here am I fellow Filipino hotwheels lover converted it to Philippine Peso and eventually found out that this car cost 1,050 Pesos. But for me this cost more because of its sentimental value of my father gifting this to me at my 5th birthday❤
That gold car is the 18 dodge challenger SRT demon! I also have that SuperTreasureHunt car 😍 couldn't believe my freakin eyes, finally finding the gold logo!! 😁 idk about parting with it for $50 sealed tho

Rare Hotwheels model releases dont nessecarily mean they are expensive. Like the Leapyear Chevelle that was only sold for one year and in one month. Those dont fetch as much.

point of collecting diecasts is to get your favorite cars in a small scale it isnt really something to invest all your money in

Lowkey why I start collecting Hot Wheels. Lowkey some of these Treasure Hunts are not my cup of tea and trading for clean cars or ones I just love.

There's a lot of repeated standard Hot Wheels every year until new ones come out I get a few standard but mainly The limited editions I love
We need a hot wheels collection app that gets the prices online. Kinda like what Funko does with their pops app.
