This video just changed my view on cleaning the stove...Its my first time with an electric stove and honestly now it makes me excited and looking forward to to cleaning it
I am so thankful that you posted this video, I didn’t even know you could lift up the stove top 😯 all these years I didn’t know this at all 🤦🏽♀️ thank you so much for the tips and on how to clean this stove I have!! 💖💖💖💖
The fact that you actually let everyone know not to use the wire scrubbers on the stovetop is great! Even S.O.S pads and abrasive " liquid" cleansers will scratch and ruin the tops. Most knobs will come off (pull) and can be soaked in hot water and thereby making it possible to clean the surface under the knobs as well.
I’ve never had an electric stove before and I’m moving next month to a place that has one. Not even remotely happy but at least now I know how to clean it. Tempted to lift that big base and spray clean it EVERY DAY just so I’m never left gagging when I discover what’s fallen into there.
Very relaxing video. Nice music. It took my mind off of what I were doing. I absolutely hate cleaning my stove. But I have to do it often after I cook. I’m stopping by looking forward new techniques or some encouragement. Housework is never done, but we can get smarter.
With most stoves (have not found one yet that can't) you can pop the knobs off and wipe behind them and clean the back of the knobs. When cleaning the hotplates/ elements (of as you call them coils) you need to let them fully dry a day, because where the two bare wires are behind the little metal plate, the electric runs through this and can 'arch' when you turn on the hotplate/ element and can short out the plate and can sometimes catch fire. So if cleaning those, just leave them out a day or two just to let them totally dry out. Hope this is of help. Also there is shaped thick aluminum disposable drip pan liners you can find at some dollar shop places. Here in Canada, Dollarama carry them. Hope this has been of help. ;~)
My tiny, 1980s stove seems like a lost cause (i.e., rental apartment). Like too many years of tenants have resulted in non-removable grease stains. But I'll give this a try. I especially like the dollar store dish wand idea. Thanks!
You just taught me I can lift the stove top off… I am amazed!!! One question, do you need to poke the bottom holes out for the rest that don’t have the pipe like the top left?
You are doing it wrong here with the foil wrapping and so is my mother, she also wrapes them with foil for many years, I can see you are putting the refective shiny side upwards because I just found out by myself last week that you need to wrap the Drip Pans with the Shiny Aluminum Foil downwards so you are looking at the non reflective side of the foil this will stop it from burning the foil, so let me know how you went with my idea.
I'm not sure if my stove top can be lifted up bc the knobs are right above the oven but I'll try taking the burners and drip pans off bc they are a mess. I also didn't think of putting foil there when I moved in ..now I'm moving out 😫
I cleaned my coils and cleaned them good.. let them dry overnight and whn i plugged rhem in and turned them on, one was smoking aloy so i turned it off . Is thsi normsl??
Lol yeah mine are connected to the electric cables they don’t just pop right off. It would of been nice if you showed how to disconnect them in the beginning
Hi very helpful video for people like me who are using electric stove for first time in the US. I bought a brand new pressure cooker which releases a lot of steam on all sides and I am not getting any whistle bcoz of that. Won't pressure cooker work on an electric stove? If yes, how to control the heat? please help me. I am struggling a lot. Thanks in advance.
+Balaji Subash thanks for watching....pressure cooker works good on electric stove....may be you can change the gasket/rubber and you can try....for medium heat you can use number 5 to 6
I've looked all over the place for those 'clips' that go on chrome drip pans (aka: drip bowls) to hold the element in the drip pan's notch. Tried to buy drip pans (via Amazon) with those clips but was lied to and ended up with drip pans without the clips. If the only way I can get those clips is to buy drip pans that have them, I will. Any help you can offer to point me in the right direction will be appreciated. Thank you.
Good question. My old apartment had a few broken ones and I wanted to find them too. Best best is maybe a junk yard or something is my only guess because I had no luck. Luckily my new apartment doesn't require the brackets under the element
Classic mistake perpetrated by people who listen to old wives' tales. Don't mix vinegar and baking soda. You saw it bubbling, right? That's not it creating some new, better cleaning compound. That's the alkaline baking soda and the acidic vinegar neutralizing each other, leaving you with CO2 (the bubbling gas), water and sodium acetate, which is useless as a cleaner. Basic high school chemistry. Baking soda and water alone would have been enough, but people always think more is better, so they add ingredients that not only don't help, but in this case actually make it less effective.

I’m a clueless 23 year old who never knew how to clean under the spiral grates. I had no idea how easy they came out lol Thank you so much
Isaiah Magliocca: Don't run yourself down. We are always learning.

I just learned you can lift up the stove top. I’m so afraid of what’s under there I don’t even want to clean it 😭😭😭
😀
Do you need to unplug it first?
No I won’t unplug
I found this out last year and I feel like I’ve been lied to my whole life. Why wasn’t I told?
Sounds like an older one. Can't do that with my recent one ... and it doesn't have fuses under a cover above the dials (my prior one did).

I have the exact same stove
Now I know how to clean it properly
Thank you!
I never thought to use aluminum foil, ya learn something new everyday! Thx for the tip! 👍🏽
Careful on using foil on the drip pans. It is considered a fire hazard.
THis was so helpful, but ultimately I decided to buy new drip pans! :P

Wow 😮 You have taken over cleaning to a whole new level! ❤️
Thank you
great video well done, not lots of boring talk well done and you taught me a lot thank you
ua-cam.com/video/7lfADGi_toU/v-deo.html this is range hood filter cleaning...please check it out if this is helpful for you
To Karen Renken: I agree. Many UA-camrs fill their videos with fluff talking. Action speaks louder than words.

Loved this video, thank you. I have a lot of work to do lol
It is a brand new cooker. I tried changing the rubber too but no use anyway will try heat 5 and 6.thanks so much for the quick reply.
This video is pure excellence. Thank you so much 💕💖
Thanks for watching 😊
thanku soooo much , bz coil stove maintenance it's very very tuff ...
To keep drip pans spotless juzst put them in your dishwasher once a week. Keeps them looking like new.
Thank you so much dear GBU
So neat thanks for helpful tips👍🏻😊
we put silver foil even below coil stoves.it would be easy while recleaning
Yup but people say it's fire hazard...
I'm not sure if my stove top can be lifted up bc the knobs are right above the oven but I'll try taking the burners and drip pans off bc they are a mess. I also didn't think of putting foil there when I moved in ..now I'm moving out 😫
This is great!! Thank you!!!! I can clean my apt stove now lol.
Glad I could help!
I love cleaning but I hate my roommates , they really act like they have a maid 😒 am always the one suffering cuz I hate dirty places
Buy a flat induction stove and you won't have to clean nothing!! Just a single wipe over the flat service and everything is clean.
Unfortunately for some of us we live in apartments with old stoves that we didn't choose.
Another great idea is to put heavy duty foil under the stove top
Clean coils with crumpled up aluminum foil...it is amazing and your coils will be silver!!
I cleaned my coils and cleaned them good.. let them dry overnight and whn i plugged rhem in and turned them on, one was smoking aloy so i turned it off . Is thsi normsl??
Saras: Good video and great music. What is the song and who is the artist?
Thank you!
Mine never looked like that how often do you clean it
Deep cleaning I do in a week...i will change foil paper once there are more spills...everyday I wipe the stove top
my stove coils are stuck inside and i could not remove it to clean. please show me how to solve this problem. Thanks
Thnk you.. I will try..
OMGG!! Thank you 🥺
Great 👌 job 🌷
Is it really safe to put foil on the drip pans? I hate that they get dirty so fast 😣
We usually put foil on drip pans all time for many years....but some says it's fire hazard..it's up to you
I like the music
Awesome and very helpful... Thank you
Thanks for watching 👍
the coil in my stove is really hard to pull that im afraid that i could break it.. i dont know what to do.. can you help me..
same here
Lol yeah mine are connected to the electric cables they don’t just pop right off. It would of been nice if you showed how to disconnect them in the beginning
Yup I will try to include in later video
Omg same, mine are hard to pull out to

How did get so filthy in the first place?
Do you turn off the eletric or unplug it?
no
what is ajax ...is it dish detergent or more like comet?
Dish soap
Thanks
my electric plates are not pulling out simply. any suggestions?
I just do the way as in video 👍
I am having hard time boiling milk in these electric stoves. how to prevent milk from spilling out??? can u make a video on that
+Nori Pavani I used to boil milk in simmer number 4 or 5.....so that it won't spill out....even if it boils....
Use a milk watcher. Works like a charm: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Milk_watcher
For how long do you have the paste set on the top? The area around my burners is very built up.
May be 20 mins
Thank you for sharing

Why do you wrap them with aluminum foil?
To avoid stains in that dripping plate
Thank you mam.
