@@drizzz3469 I think I paid like 7.6k? No more than 8k, it was a steal at the time and since then I’ve joined some SC pages I see other ones that are auto and not as clean still selling for more so I’m definitely happy with my purchase.

My 94 is sitting on blocks while I get the head back on. I also have the T61 but the tuning is AEM v1 and it has a lot of weird hiccups. Gonna try to swap to a FFIM to get rid of the heat soaked stock intake. These are fun cars to drive and you aren't kidding with the open dump. Sounds so violent in person.

Love the video. I also picked up a 5 speed and found a boost logic kit that I installed as well. Haven’t heard it run yet but soon. This video is extremely inspiring.
My boost logic kit came with a PT6176 turbo and 550cc injectors. I have a AEM v1 for management.

@@Edward3jr did you happen to catch the model of the turbo? Not a lot of information on these kits but it seems there were a few different turbo options available. Curious how ours compares. Mines a T61, but I think they also had T67 kits.

@@tea2jay mine is a t61 I’m running 10psi. You’re right there are different turbo options. I’m not sure what turbo options were offered.

Yo what's up man been following you since you got this car, I got the same color and year but mine was an automatic when I got it and did a manual swap. Bought the CX racing turbo kit almost 2 years ago but still have it sitting in my storage unit. I am pretty familiar with most of the things needed to get it Na-t but can't seem to find any info on what people are doing for oil drains on the turbo without pulling the motor. Was curious if you could give some tips on how you went about the oil feed and drain on this car that would be sweet! My car had 90,000 miles when I got it just about to break 100K now 3 years later and still debating if I want to just build a motor outside of the car and enjoy it time being since I am strapped for cash. Anyhow keep up the great work love your videos!!!

You have a couple of options for oil drain and feed. In the video below I do a walk through and share how I ran mine. Sadly I did not film any of the work, but I pulled the motor and pulled the oil pan to drill a hole for my oil drain. I’ll link another video below to show a different approach if you want to try with out removing the engine.
If I were you, I would bolt that Cx racing kit in and let it rip. You won’t regret it. Make sure you have a good tuner you can go with. But aside from that that’s really it. I wouldn’t worry about building the motor unless you plan on making a lot of hp. Let me know if you have more questions.

My motor is at 240k. All I did was add a gte head gasket and arp studs

Just picked up a 98 sc300 and dude I AM SOLD ON THIS BUILD! The power is solid and it makes all the right noises! Definitely going na-t on my Lexus fo sho!🔥🔥 Also is the turbo making that beautiful flutter noise or the blow off valve??

As long as you're not slamming gears you should be fine. But I had those same concerns. No regrets so far.

This power level is plenty for the street. Lots of fun.
Hey Ive been watching your videos and have a non vvti sc300 myself. I was planning on doing just about the same thing as you, but i have a few questions. Whats the mpg looking like at that power level, and how is the w58 around town. Mine is automatic and im planning to swap in the w58 with the supra diff.
Thank you! The mpg is terrible. When I drive I feel like I can see the needle moving down in real time. But if your wondering about smiles per gallon, you’ll be very happy. The w58 is very nice around town. No complaints so far
What do you think about a Toyota Altezza 2jz gte swap for a first car for an enthusiast? Will be building the car all by myself and my uncle (you have a big role in my life for wanting to own a tuner/jdm car and man that sc300 looks clean) hope you see this

350+ HP is impressive! I’ve been considering taking my bone stock sportcross to freed engineering for a manual swap, what you think about them?
They do good work 👌, I use them from time to time. They rebuilt my r154 and installed my Kaaz lsd. I also use their catch can in my other sc300z

If you were only going for 10psi you should have kept the stock headgasket. You would have made more power and earlier. Unless you did that to keep power low to save the W58.
This is very true, no need to change head gasket at the power level I’m at, but I do plan on upgrading to a stronger trans and making more power later down the road .
@@Edward3jr im at the same crossroad, I cant decide whether to stay 10:1 or put in a GTE gasket and drop it down.
my advice is to get a oil cooler . my mk3 supra w58 transmission has been going strong for years now on 20psi i know i am at the limits for it . the motor can take more its been rebuilt
but if you know? what timing are you running in boost i am 12 to 10 ignition timing on 93 oct. if i advance any more timing my knock sensors start to detect knock not much like 6% . but if i run 110 octane fuel i can run 14 to 17 degrees without knock
I will have to double check this, but I think my timing is at 14-15 degrees right now. The oil cooler is a great idea! I will look into that.

Hey Ed, I noticed you had the plug and play connectors for the injectors, but in this clip, looks like you went away with them? Or did you just splice them into the factory wiring?
Excellent observation! So while I was trouble shooting issues with the base map I kept having injector issues. It turned out the pigtails were giving me problems so I spliced them into the factory wiring. No more problems since

Was there any particular reason why you ran the fuel pump relay wire to 72B on the ECU? And did you also run the ground from the wideband kit all the way from inside, to 28B on the obd1 port? Thanks

What does nat stand for does it mean that the car comes with a turbo or does it come na and you put on a turbo after wards?
Great Question. NA Stands for Naturally Aspirated. The 2JZGE motor that comes in the sc300 is a Naturally Aspirated Engine. The T stands for turbo. So now we have a 2JZGE-T engine. Not to be confused with a 2JZGTE engine. Which is the turbo version of the 2j found in the mk4 supras and aristos.

What did you do with the evap charcoal canister? Did you delete it, and are you having gas smells?
I removed it, but I have a hose running from what would be going into the canister down under the passenger fender. I smell fuel, but I don’t think it’s from that 😂😂😂. I removed this to install my catch can, but I decided not to go with the catch can I have. So I might put it back now 🤷🏾♂️

did you change the oem timing belt? also, how was it that youre able to run a turbo with the stock distributor and throttle body?
I replaced the timing belt and water pump at the same time I did the head gasket. Throttle body and distributor are fine to run on boost.

have a 95 sc300 na non vvti, i’ve seen the cx turbo kits for $800 without turbo/wastegate. i plan on going 8psi stock internals. at most head gasket and arp studs. did you run stock oil pump? and ecu?
I replaced the oil pump with a stick ge one
My cousin is trying to boost his 93 non vvti but we are afraid that his automatic transmission is gonna break instantly lmao and we really don't plan on pushing it to hard so a better transmission can wait is what we are thinking but we'll probably just find out the hard way😂
@@DrewIbarra714 get a better torque converter and it should hold. I've heard the auto holds better than the manual on some forums lol. just do your Converter and make sure to check fluids.

You’re not the first person to tell me this. There’s a big divide on these wheels. People either love them or hate them. I wanted something a little different, but I’ll find another pair of shoes for the sc300 in the near future.
