TY. My EDC weighs 15lbs. It's a gray man type. IMHO, an EDC bag is THREE letters, deliberately: just enough for 3 days, no more. (Otherwise you start down the slippery slope of... let me put the kitchen sink in there too! #SMH ).

Exactly. Your EDC has to be a comfortable option to carry everyday and should be enough to face what you want but not so much that it's tempting to leave behind.

How important is a medical kit If you don’t know how to use it

    • @jjlawson7637

And that’s an actual question that’s not me being a smart Alec I’m trying to learn

I would say it's relatively important regardless of training to have a basic medical kit as you never know who will have more training around you if something happens and those tools could prove vital to them. I would also get some basic education on the topic as well for your self. Know things such as how to apply a Tourniquet and pack a wounds can go a long way and don't take a lot of training.

Not sure what "Med Kit" you're carrying, but I highly encourage you stage a TQ on the outside of your kit.
The rest looks good to go if that is what you're environment calls for.

This wasn't a pre built kit but instead uses items I picked out based off what the intended use is for the kit dropped into a condor med pouch. Calling it a "Stop the Bleed" kit might be a tad more of a accurate statement based off the contents. I agree moving the TQs to outside would be a good idea for sure and just something I haven't done yet. That are pretty quick and easy to access as staged ,even one handed , but seconds do matter if you need one and that would shave off a few.

I would love it if you can supply us with any and I mean any proof, or examples of people wearing certain clothing and being targeted. There is pretty much zero data that backs that up, same with the open carry makes you a target, again zero provable data to back it up.

I will admit I'm not aware of any specific statistics that exist. On the other hand I am aware of many accounts from criminals where they admitted to specifically targeting people because they were open carrying or wearing certain clothing, targeting vehicles and houses that had pro 2A signage, and where uniformed LEO have been targets first in active killer scenarios because perpetrators were aware of them being armed. Here's a example of a guy getting targeted for open carrying. Unfortunately plenty more out there. www.fox2detroit.com/video/903067

@@shtfhoneybadger I would just have to say there are way more examples of un armed people being targeted than armed and more helpless folks being attacked than middle aged males wearing tactical gear.

@@harrylaygs1 I get that. There is plenty of examples of unarmed people being targeted and you should always have the ability to protect your self. At the same time thought that element of surprise when the bad guy doesn't know you are is typically going to benefit you. There is a time and place for gear like that for sure, It's just not something I'd consider part of a EDC during normal times.

Regardless of any data out there, many folk with the prepper/grayman mindset claim it's a good idea to not advertise just in case. Besides, the Internet is littered with people going about their business and halted by security or some Karen freaking out with 911 on the line. The carriers are just shopping but someone needs to start drama. Also in recent years more companies big and large have been adopting the dumbass "No Guns" policy and have signs/stickers plastered on an entranceway. Conceal carriers such as myself walk right in anyway. What they don't know won't hurt them. No potential active shooter's going to see a sign then turn around to leave either.

I’m not concerned about how I dress in a crowd. My usual attire includes a tiger camo Glock hat, 5.11 pants, and a od green jacket or a flannel. I dont have a flashy knife, but someone could spot my pocket knife clip and a flashlight if they were really focusing. I either get shitty looks from liberals or the nod from conservatives or libertarians. Dont ask me to wear shorts in summer. Thats a no go for me. I feel like a geek in shorts. Its pants all day, everyday, 365 days a year. Period.

When the power is out the store can't operate weather you have cash or not makes no difference. I don't think you would ever need more than five shots in a self defense, the stat's say not, but better to be prepared, if you need even fifteen it's going to be very hard to explain if you're alive too do so. An extra mag Incase of a jam I don't know, personal I haven't had one in five hundred rds. With my G-43x or G-45 not one, doesn't mean it couldn't still happen . I think no matter how much training, muscle memory, I get nothing can get us prepared enough for the real thing,. But I refuse to live my life scared all the time, and there no way your going to explain to a jury or Judge why you fired 29 rds at someone,. If you can't make a good shot in 3 to stop the attacker you shouldn't be carrying, beyond that ever bullet has a lawyer Attached to it , if you're going into a dangerous places only because you have a gun then you shouldn't have gone to start with, it's your duty to avoid any dangerous place that would require you to even carry one , if someone else pulls one on you and. even if you have a chance to respond most likely you'll both be down , No one wins.

That would completely depends on the stores. While big box stores don't typically can't operate during power outages most local stores can run off of paper only and Mom and Pop shops usually do. It's something I've personally observed and I know many others have as well in power outages and natural disasters.
When it comes to self defense I understand your point. Statistically in self defense shootings you are probably going to shoot less then 5 shots but you can't guarantee that you won't be the outlier that needs more or anticipate the threat that actually is coming towards you will be stopped in that number. You also often times don't always have that luxury of choosing what places you go to and can't always just avoid the dangerous/higher risk places. You don't go out seeking trouble or trying to "John Wayne" it but at the same time it's better to be prepared and having nothing happen then be unprepared and something does.
