Don't get me wrong. I had a 64 Malibu convertible. That had a 6 cylinder with 3 on a tree. But I turned around and put a v eight in it With 4 on the floor. But I still held on to the original engine and transmission then it came with. And I had a lot of fun with that Malibu. Until I sold it. And I sold it with the V8 and the original 6 with all the parts that it needed to be converted back to its original shape.
You put a lot of money into that 6 cylinder. Why didn't you put AV? 8 in there. It would have been better off. You'd have a lot more power. And the car would Be worth a lot more money. But then again, that might be the original 6 cylinder. That was in the car from the time it was made which makes it a matching number vehicle. And if that's the reason why you did it, I can see the reason why. But you still could hold onto that engine and transmission and put A V8 to have the fun with it.
