Nice setup. I currently use a stainless steel Tatoka cup, nested with the Stanley pot with the Guyot Designs bottle nested in that. I may move on to different things but for now, I gotta say that i'm more than happy with the Stanley cook set, freed up a lot of space as my last cooking pot had to be stored separately in my pack as it wouldn't nest with my other equipment.
Heya, great set up! I'm not sure if anybody has mentioned this yet, but you can also add a Nalgene Backpacker (0.94 liter) water bottle to this kit, fits perfectly :)! I hope this was helpful. Cheers!
i have the exact same set up only different ! my cup is a Walmart SS cup , same size as the GSI cup . i don't have titanium , my spoon is wood and i gots a spork (SS) . i need to make a wind screen . i made a Budwiezer alcohol stove...works great . awesome cook set ! 665
Sweet set up man, that carbonfelt stove will work awesome, same design i have been using. Tho i changed the inner potstand to a hardware cloth stand, as you have seen in my vids. Those designs work great man and perfect for smaller pots.thanks for the vid
I got one and it works fine. Being its stainless steel it holds heat better and boils water in 2 mins. Since I tossed water bottles for the platypus roll up bags the extra weight saving went into this stainless cook set which has thicker walls. Overall it will last a very longtime and is well made.
oh well thanks man that is really cool.stainless does work well geez the one pot i used in a boil test had a 3/8 inch thick bottom and i got a good boil time lol.
P.S. i made a small round and a square plate out of 1/8 in steel to help redistribute the heat evenly when using alcohol or butane heat sources ,my food cooks evenly and doesnt burn in the center where the flame source is!!!
I have the same Stanley cook set but what I did with mine on the lid I took the plastic piece of and put a key ring on there in case you have to put in the fire I did a quick video on it works pretty well maybe this will help you if you decide to do it just a thought
Yeah, It's not ultralight but it's a tough as nails, rugged set that's built to last, with no BPA & a worry free clean up. I went on a week long canoe trip awhile back and would have loved to have this setup. Guess i'm ready for next time. LOL! Thanx for looking.
Thanks for making the video. Where did you get the silicon band that you said you can slide up for a lip guard? I've always used the orange silicon "hot lips" protector devices, but they are always falling off. This might be a better option if it actually works.
My grab n go kit is almost identical to that kit. WayPoint Survival, UA-cam channel, did a videos on the Stanley green cup cook kit. He showed us a SWEET Hack for it. There's a 30oz cup lid, plastic lockable lid for sale at Walley World that fits perfect on the Stanley and also on the GSI or OZARKTRAIL mug! I bought two of the lids after seeing the video and SURE ENOUGH the 30oz lids fit like a glove! The lids are spill proof allowing for storing any leftovers for later. The lids are about $3.50 USD each, well worth it. Anyways, it's a CRAZY GOOD hack so I'm passing it forward. BTW, can't go wrong with the Stanley "green cup" cooker, a legendary piece of kit!
I personally love that setup there.I'm going to gear towards stainless steel for two particular reasons...1- Food safety 2-indestructable cookware...well a lot more indestructible than aluminum.
My favorite cook-set is a Heat Exchange r "Widesea:" pot set, that will hold a Svea 123 stove; all inside. Makes a nice neat package. TheSvea would have a new silent cap 😂
I owe you some thanx for this setup bud. After seeing you use that stainless water bottle and making a bunch of comments about how stainless might be a good way to go...BAMM...My wife pays attention! LOL! Later buddy. Peace!
It's the 18 oz. GSI bottle cup. They run between $9 & $14 depending where you get it, but I recently saw a generic brand identical to it a Walmart for $5. Might be worth a look to ya. Thanx for tuning in. Take care.
+351WINCHESTER You set the pot on top of the stove. It works great. One alternative method.. you can lay 2 tent stakes down sideways atop your stove and then place pot on top of the stakes. The stakes will then serve as a sort of grill surface. Hope this helps.
We made our own sporks in Boy Scouts. We even sharpened the edge so it could cut meat! But we always had a pocket knife as well. Those stoves are too clean if they were actually used. I think you just have them for show.
HECK YEAH; I got away with a dozen roses, chocolate & a card for her and made out with two cook pots, a lid, both sea to summit utensils & some dry bags =) LOL! I'm gonna have to step it up, I guess... Peace!
hi, the FF stove you have is a bit different than the one hiram cook showed me how to make. can you plz tell me what 2 cans your fancy feast stove is made from? thx!
Robert treboR Most Walmarts sell the Stanley cookset for $14.95 and they sell the Chinese stainless steel GSI knock off cup for $4.99 and it nest perfectly. you will find them in the Camping section.
guess what I saved in the cabinet.... of all things, an empty "Suave" brand moose can (same diameter as the small inner tomato paste can! can you believe that???? I bet it's the same size can as the "Aussie" moose can??? anyway, thank you my friend!
+Mike Honcho Small ranger bands are usually cut from tubes for bicycle tires. Larger ones can be made from tubes for tires that go on wheelbarrows, lawn mowers, trailers and vehicles. Depends on the size bands you'd like to use. Buy new tubes from places that sell parts and/or service these types of tire using equipment. Sometimes used/discarded tubes are free from repair shops.
Awesome rig man. I received the Stanley cook set for x-mas. Love it and can't wait to use it!
Nicely done. Awesome setup. I give it two thumbs up. Cheers from Montreal QC
Hey Trail Hound - love your thumbnail! The Stanley cook set it a great little cheap cook set up! Thanks for sharing - see you on the trail!
Awesome love the Stanley ,and thanx for keeping your informational short sweet and right to the point!!! Some of these preppers bore me lol

AWESOMENESS, in a cup. I love that GSI Stanley combo. Gives me good ideas. Thanks for sharing that.
Cheers

That is so funny, my wife got me a Stanley cook kit for Valentines Day as well this past Feb.
Nice set up. I have one with the same cup. I think they work great.
I got one and it works fine. Being its stainless steel it holds heat better and boils water in 2 mins.
Since I tossed water bottles for the platypus roll up bags the extra weight saving went into this stainless cook set which has thicker walls.
Overall it will last a very longtime and is well made.
Like your upgrade of the baking sheet over heavy duty foil. +1
Nice nesting setup. We'll thought out. I too like the cat stove. Thanks!
Very cool looking set.
oh well thanks man that is really cool.stainless does work well geez the one pot i used in a boil test had a 3/8 inch thick bottom and i got a good boil time lol.
Very similar to my setup.
Nice man!
"Valentines Day" - I chuckled.
I like it. I did see one at Target but wondered about the weight. Wound be gear in the canoe. Thanks
P.S. i made a small round and a square plate out of 1/8 in steel to help redistribute the heat evenly when using alcohol or butane heat sources ,my food cooks evenly and doesnt burn in the center where the flame source is!!!
SWEET! Great Gal ya got there!

Nice practical set-up! Where did you get the little silicon band?
Yeah, It's not ultralight but it's a tough as nails, rugged set that's built to last, with no BPA & a worry free clean up. I went on a week long canoe trip awhile back and would have loved to have this setup. Guess i'm ready for next time. LOL! Thanx for looking.
Love. Stanley great stuff
Silicone band. Great idea! Never thought of that.

Nice kit.
nice! everything fits!
Fold up a couple 18" squares of heavy foils to replace the wind screen... It still works as a wind screen, but provides many more cooking options.
Cool kit.
Thanx for tuning in & leaving your thoughts. Take care.
HEY. I Was just looking at that same set up earlier today at Academy
I personally love that setup there.I'm going to gear towards stainless steel for two particular reasons...1- Food safety 2-indestructable cookware...well a lot more indestructible than aluminum.
Great video, like the setup!! The Stanley Pot is affordable...
Glad you liked buddy! Peace!
nice set up
Where did the aluminum baking tray windscreen come from?
My favorite cook-set is a Heat Exchange r "Widesea:" pot set, that will hold a Svea 123 stove; all inside.
Makes a nice neat package.
TheSvea would have a new silent cap 😂
How is that windscreen working out? And you said it was a baking sheet? Hm. Haven't seen one like that before, but I will keep my eyes open.

Search Amazon- they have many to choose from.
What type of cup is that please?
GSI Glacier cup
there are 2 sizes, which size is that one?
Does a Nalgene bottle fit in there?
+Dallas Gonzales Nope.
Your Wife must really like you getting out and going away on your camping trips.
Exercise & nature are the best medicine known to man. She is a good woman. Thanx for tuning in.
I can honestly say that if this setup was aluminum it would have had to be replaced more than once by now. lol
Having trouble finding places that sell the Stanley’s now :(
You can pick them up at many Walmarts, along with the Ozark trails cup.
@@christopherhaak9824 ah sadly I’m in the uk! No Walmart here
