I am a Huge STANLEY COOKSET Fan. I own and have used all of those sets extensively. There is an effective way to make those Cooksets almost completely non-stick! That a small, reasonable amount of olive oil or vegetable oil (liquid only, not sprays) and put some in the bottom and around the sides. Heat over your fuel stoves or campfire's edge. Long enough to get the oils really hot without scorching the oils. You can use that oil or discard it. Next cook as you normally would making CERTAIN YOUR HEAT IS LOWER IN TEMPERATURE THAN YOU USED TO HEAT YOUR OILS. Doing that will assure an almost non-stick cleanup once your foods are ready. Chefs ALWAYS PREHEAT their stainless cookware pots and pans to have that easy cleanup. Now then, that little 2 Cups (aka Green Cups) Set is great for deep frying fresh boneless chicken thighs and breasts! Seriously. Take along some flour, dry milk (water added) and coat the chicken. Fry it as you would at home with NO MORE THAN HALF FULL OF OIL. Comes out perfect. Doing something like that makes a full-on meal with a veggie or rice instead of boring heat and eat camp food. You can bread seafood like Scallops or white fish the same way. I've collected STANLEY Cooksets for decades. I believe I own all of the ones they make, including their most recent releases. Enjoy!
Good review, literally decades ago, my family of 5 did alot of camping out and that meant lots of meals over the fire, we had handles on our cook items (Coleman that still work well decades later as I have them they just aren't used as often. My Mother learned how to make a handle potholder and it lasted the rest of her lifetime. Those looms with latch hook can make a great handle covering when moving the pot around on the fire or taking it off the fire, a little more hooking and it will slide on and off the Handle easily.
They make two more sizes, I just got the Cook and store set, comes with a 32oz pot and set of screw top plastic storage containers that fit into the pot. The largest and newest is the Base Camp, has four bowls, plates, forks, dish drainer, skillet and 3qrt pot. Good for families.
For the green tab on the lid another UA-camr suggested turning the the lid so the tab is facing away from the fire/heat source presenting less surface area to get hot reducing the likelihood of it melting.
Brought a Stanley thermos flask a few months a go must admit it's pretty nice and keeps drinks hot for 24 hours .Also saves money not having to boil the kettle all the time
Nice review. I always pack a lightweight work glove in mine to use as a pot holder. You can stick a ferro rod and lighter inside the cups too before packing away. Make use of all that empty space.
i love my Stanley sets, just half of them i haven't gotten a chance to use because they are new, i also noticed how those sets like to jump out of my hands too, i was dropping stuff left and right, glad its made sturdy, good video
I've just started adding some of these items to my camping gear. I'm going to be car camping soon so I want to figure out what I need initially to get started.
Great products, i didnt know about the bigger set. Just an fyi, once you replace the tab with a split ring on the adventure cup, you can hang it over a fire by the ring. Works great for boiling water, but i wouldn't really cook food like that. For just water you can see the steam and vibration when it starts to boil. I reopen it with a multi tool and hot pad.
There i was watching UA-cam , then a video came up about you . Holy cow ,The Angry Prepper ..I had no idea you was a real "Hero' .. I'm truly floored ...I have so much respect for you sir ...
Good review & video . Some peoples videos are so jerky that you almost get sea sick , also you get to the point . Others turn a 10 minute video into 30 unnecessarily . Thanks again for the great review .
Good video. I bought the one on the left of the screen that comes with the two cups. I also bought one that you didnt show, its like the two pots that you showed but it came with a container a little smaller than the pot and 3 little containers for spices. I just used that one for an overnight canoe trip. All are made well and clean easily. I think stanley is really making a good light weight product for backpacking or canoeing. If your on facebook we have all our overnight canoe trips posted. Pics and maps of all the rivers that we have paddled. Look up jolly roger paddles and you should be able to see it. Thanks again.
I love the 2 cup cook pot for solo use. ... But I never actually use the cups while camping. I keep a isobutane canister or 2, a BRS stove, a bottle of soap and a wash cloth in there instead and have a GSI clone nesting cup on the outside.
Good video. You might want to take a look at the Adventure Prep Eat & Fry pan set by Stanley. Just like all the other Adventure Sets, it has the folding handle and lid. The unique features that are included are the plates, sporks (2 of them), the cutting board which is a non folding oval shape and a trivet to place under the hot fry pan. It also has the spatula that comes with the other two sets you have. I think it would find a home in a trailer or camper or just car camping.
Thanks for the comparison; I appreciate your style. I want to change from the Trangia cooking set to Stanley's stainless steel, so your review is valuable. Stanley now makes a stainless steel frying pan in addition to the sets you reviewed. The frying pan has a 3 layer bottom that helps with even distribution of heat. My question: Do these cook pots also have a 3 layer bottom? Or, are they a single layer (like the sides of the pots)? I enjoy your videos (just subscribed). Thank you!
You are the only guy i have watched so far that has actually said if those tabs will melt. We should only cook over coals unless boiling water but thanks for putting that out there.
i have had a tab melt, over coals. I now use a split ring through the tab hole, which not only doesnt melt, but it allows you to hang the whole thing over a fire if you close the handle!
Chris Fisher ; not to sound like a total jerk, here, but the notes on the label state that the cook cup is for stove top use ONLY. Not to be placed directly into a fire or on hot coals. That tab is made of poetic for a reason. If you point it back toward the handle, you can place your thumb on it while you pour out the liquid through the drain holes ( for noodles and such).
Great video, I've spent months out in the field and all three of these choices great. Also somebody hasn't melted something then they just haven't had enough time in the woods. Being a half Frozen or hungry or that first cup of coffee when you can finally rest! Yes we can get in a hurry and then oops. I don't shop a lot and thanks I'm going tomorrow set. Thank you generosity time, great video.
Greetings from Newburgh! I recently learned of you through Magic and have been playing catch up. Although older, I like the videos, so far and look forward to catching up to the more current offerings.
stanley tools and stanley outdoor thermos.... totally different companies. however the son of william stanley jr... who made the thermos is the stanley in morgan stanley financial
I have the Adventure cook kit. Really sturdy and compact. Not crazy about the heavy green cups but wtf. Btw Stanley sell extra lids for $6 each that fit the CSI 16 oz stainless cup.
Looks like a quality set of pots etc. Not so the plastic gimmicky bits n' pieces, I don't need them! They will obviously hold the rest of your cooking equipment, but titanium has come down quite a lot in price these days ! A serious consideration if you are carrying all your equipment? Thank you.
nice review. straight and to the point. way to keep it 100. I have the adventure cook set in my backpack. so were you Bruce Banner Prepper before they made you angry? lol. subbed.
hey. Thanks for your review. I like it very much that you remain very factual. I will probably choose the adventure set. All the best and keep going. Greetings from Germany Hessen. LG niko
Great video brother and very informative!! Lots of information and good quality video....I enjoyed the video enough to like and of course subscribe... Alabama Bushcrafters!!
nice presentation . good detail and facts . i like the two pot set . don't much care for the bowls , cups , spatuladle . $14.98 for the small cook set , the two pot set is unavailable around here , the two bowl set is i believe $19.99...local Walmart , Marion County FL. . 1/25/17
***** update on the Stanley 2 bowl set...it's 24.98 at walmart . and , you are welcome . i don't have many videos up but check them out . you may like them.
We love your channel you just don't know your channel is going to get big that means that you're going to get more more prescribing to to your Your channel
I simply won't take plastic into the woods, whether it's a plastic tab, a plastic bowl, a plastic cup, or anything else. The first thing I do with Stanley is get rid of the plastic. But I don't replace that plastic tab, I replace the entire lid. The lid from a Pathfinder cup fits it perfectly. Better even than the lid that comes with the Stanly. You can then drill a small hole in each side of the Stanley pot, and hang it with a fish mouth spreader, just as you hang the Pathfinder cups and bottle. What Stanley really needs to do is put a bail on one of their pots, Only a couple of high end companies do this, and they sell like crazy.
The info is great, but do you really need to throw everything, smashing the table...? It's annoying. You're not the only one, many people does it on their reviews.

I use the Stanley cook set.
It’s great and there are tons of mods that you can do to personalize it.
Very reliable and durable
Thanks for this video. Stanley tools and this Stanley are different company’s. This Stanley is older
food for thought... maybe adding a green Scotch-Brite pad for cleanup they work great for cleaning your pot and pan on the fly
I like your SOS pads better
I've got the smaller one with the nesting cups, take it in my backpack all the time!

ive used 6hr fuel food warmer to cook with. heats food nicely and boils water good too
I have the two small pots and literally use them every day. I'm quite convinced that this cookware would last a lifetime without any issues.
I've just started adding some of these items to my camping gear. I'm going to be car camping soon so I want to figure out what I need initially to get started.

Great job displaying the different kits. I find that the Stanley sets beg to be customized/modified. They are fun and tuff gear but very heavy.
MI Timberwookie i
I have all three and I totally love them. Take care man
I love the 2 cup cook pot for solo use.

Wow! I didn't know that Stanley had not one but three mess kit products. This was for sure a good review!
Nice review. I have the small adventure cook kit but have not seen the larger two kits. Thank you.
Damn this was an OLD ANGRY Video.

Chris Fisher , mine has not melted in over a years use.
But , my cooking is mainly done on coals and not a big flaming fire

Stanley cook sets are made by a company called PMI. Stanley tools are owned by Black and Decker. Two totally different companies, not related.
Correct!
I didn't know they made a super large one. I might have to get one.
I like this gear review...I will order one , for my BugOutBag.
Greetings from Newburgh! I recently learned of you through Magic and have been playing catch up. Although older, I like the videos, so far and look forward to catching up to the more current offerings.
These sets look great for on the motorbike good to see them in video to get a feel of the size of them cheers dude 👍
Put the lid on the pot, hold it up so we can see it. Weigh everything individually. Are they aluminum or steel? I did not hear you say which.
Great review. Thank you. I almost bought some exotic brand at 3 times the price.
The "Keyring" mod on the lid is the best Mod you can do to this cook set, IMO
Nice job here Jason - this is prepping, like you talked about recently.
I love cooking so when we camp I can watch you cook
I have the medium size for the family and a folding stereo stove it works great
Nice set. I will be buying some.
Just ordered the smallest one from your amazon link. Thanks

I have the Adventure cook kit. Really sturdy and compact. Not crazy about the heavy green cups but wtf.
Btw Stanley sell extra lids for $6 each that fit the CSI 16 oz stainless cup.
I have not had the piece on top melt in around 10 years . I cook more on rocks , hot coals or propane stove .
the tab will melt but these little pots are great to fix a pkg.of raman noodles in.if i am going to be out a few days i take several packs of raman.
Great video and really hard to beat these products especially at their price point
I love Stanley pots. Great video brother!
Yeah Stanley makes pretty good products.
After cooking sticky things, rinse out then add water and put on the fire until hot and let soak.
Stanley outdoor gear like this goes back to 1913....so...not recent that stanley" just got into "thermos type products.

I use the smaller one its easier to carry and my propane stove plus a lighter fits right in it
Have you tried the Stanley coffee press? Great for camping although I also use it at home.
Well, is the tab silicon or rubber? Does silicon melt?
Silicon but I replaced it with a metal key ring.
Im the king of the Stanley cook kit.
hey. Thanks for your review. I like it very much that you remain very factual. I will probably choose the adventure set. All the best and keep going. Greetings from Germany Hessen.
LG niko
Thanks for the demo.
Good video Do the pot burn easy when near or the fire.

The info is great, but do you really need to throw everything, smashing the table...? It's annoying. You're not the only one, many people does it on their reviews.
This stanley mugs, bottles, cookware, etc and stanley tools are two separate companies...
Stanley-PMI isn't the same company as Stanley tools.
