Our Big Hoss Bundle systems generally include everything we make all in one package (intake, exhaust, tuning, intercooler, graphical user interface, etc.), and they run about $3000. But you don't have to start off with everything--our cold air intakes run about $300 and offer noticeable performance improvements. Then you can build from there as your needs (or budget) grow.
Meanwhile the 6.0 blew up after the show because it's not bulletproofed or studded. This isn't everything to do if you want your 6.0 to be running it's best. Still needs an EGR delete, headstuds, headgaskets, blue spring kit, regulated return kit and many more
This show was done when these trucks were new and that wasn't a known issue yet. This truck is like brand new he's doing that to. Give it a few more times and yeah it would prolly be toast 😂
Once a 6.0 is bulletproofed it is a great motor. Definitely ditch the erg and do the studs. I've heard the oem gaskets are ok to use but I can't imagine they are better than the black diamond or whichever. Is this the case?
***** Heat in an engine is as much a problem with a diesel as it is in a gas engine. Aside from operating temps, heat is bad anywhere other than the combustion chamber. This is why there is an EGR cooler and an oil cooler. You do not want fuel to be pre-heated. In fact, one of the best upgrades one can make is a return style fuel system. The reason this is such an important upgrade is because the factory fuel system is return less. Therefore the fuel deadheads in the cylinder head. The half gallon or so of fuel sitting in the heads will take about 15 minutes to get used. That means the fuel is sitting in the 600 degree head boiling away. The return style system keeps the fuel cycling through the system so it can get a chance to cool and get fresh fuel to the injectors. As for a heat riser, they were installed in the exhaust to send hot air through the intake manifold and heads to help get the engine to proper operating temps. The problem is that it also pre-heated the fuel which is a no no. Thus, you don't really see them anymore. And nobody ever replaces them. Most people cut the flap out of the manifold, grinds it down and goes on their way. I would not consider intentionally increasing heat in the engine.
But When you look at the purpose of the injector it is in the hottest place in the combustion chamber. Diesel Fuel acts like a coolant in a way to the injector nozzle. For example the 6.4 powerstroke has a diesel fuel cooler... Although how hot are we talking of heating diesel up? Can the current common rail system handle hot fuel running through it at 20k psi?
Banks makes stuff for just about every Ford, Dodge, Chevy, Toyota, Nissan, and Lincoln truck (and yes, Jeep guys, stuff for Jeeps too), but the Big Hoss Bundles are for 7.3, 6.0 and 6.4L Power Strokes, the 5.9L Cummins, and the 6.6L Duramax. Thanks for watching, and thanks for asking.
Here's an oldie but goodie: a clip from and old episode of "Trucks" Where Stacey David installed a Big Hoss bundle on a 6.0 liter Power Stroke. This kit is still a great choice, especially for those folks who have upgraded the engines. ua-cam.com/video/j47Vm7d00ms/v-deo.html For more info check out: bankspower.com/products/show/41/35
@PowerstrokeForever Sorry for the delayed response -- it looks like we overlooked your question. The 7.3L is in fact the application that we have the most products available for. Check out our website or give us a call and we can tell you what we have for your truck and what difference it will make. Thanks!
Am I mistaken? Stacey installed a "single" Banks exhaust right? During the burnouts at minute marks 12:35, 12:38, 12:49, & 12:53 it looks to me as exhaust tips behind each rear wheel.
Sorry about the late reply, Articit92, we thought we answered your question already but it looks like we didn't. Yes, we can certainly ship you any of our products, though it probably won't be cheap. Give us a call, tell us what you want and we can calculate the shipping charges for you.
If i were to buy this package, do you ship it to Europe or closer home, Norway? I'm buying a 03 6.0l f350 this summer and i want this kit, would be awesome to know if it's shippable :D
Ok so to bulletproof my 6.0, I did an egr delete, coolant filter, mbrp 4" turbo back , removed the own liquid cooled oil cooler and replaced it with air cooled system. This solves the egt burning holes in egr cooler, white smoke from coolant and eliminates excess soot in the oil that chews up the injectors. Coolant filter catches the sand free in the coolant, and a new coolant cap!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A bad coolant cap can blow head gaskets by allowing the coolant to boil. B.p. of coolant at 16 psi
"Your tires become rotating smoke bombs that just burn up and blow away" I think he meant to say "Your Headgaskets become smoke bombs that just burn up and blow away" Lmao
God i miss stacey david on trucks. At least on Gearz he is not limited to quick install jobs, but i love how he explained everything and is not afraid to burn some rubber doing it.
They should have kept that engine in production longer... once they refined the 6.0, it was indeed a good runner. The 6.4 was not necessarily a good replacement; it is harder to work on, and it had reliability problems just as the 6.0 did when it first came out. If they spent a little more time with R&D they would have been better off!
@@8LLRoadranger im not trying to start an argument here but saying it went better than a 6.4 isnt saying much at all, 6.4' s were massive failures and 6.0's weren't much better. Having to dump 10 grand into an engine to make it "reliable" doesn't make it good
Will this over heat my 6.0? So it used to have a tuner because when I bought it it was a drag truck and I mostly made it a regular truck and took out the tuner because it over heated a lot and will this possibly over heat it?
I guess that’s a 2007 truck in the video (posted to UA-cam in 2010) ? It’s 2019 now and I have a 2006 KR, CC, SRW.its been a good truck. I’ve updated (aftermarket mostly) FICM, Injectors, Fuel regulator, Oil and EGR coolers, CAC tubes, tuning, and probably a couple other things I’m not remembering right now. Most of this was done after parts failed so not “trouble free” by any means but I drive it hard and tow also. It’s over 200k miles now on factory original head bolts and turbo. I can’t say about the 2003-2004 models, they were a little different but from my experience these trucks didn’t deserve the bad rep they got in the beginning. Early production issues and wrench twisters (even at the dealership) who didn’t know what they were doing contributed a lot to the bad rep. I’m happy to be driving a diesel without DEF that I can still work on. Now that I’ve bragged on it, it will probably drop a lifter next week, hope I didn’t just jinx myself, lol. Oh yea, I forgot to say, Banks makes some cool stuff but for some reason it really didn’t catch on with the 6.0 crowd. I’ve heard stories that some of their early offerings didn’t do trans tuning or maybe did it wrong. Some trucks had trans problems when using their products and word of mouth went viral I think. I noticed in this video, Stacy mentions this device raises the trans line pressure so the issue was probably addressed early on but the the damage was done already. Too bad, there was a good market for awhile, banks intercooler and tubes shown in this video are a great piece.
head gaskets are not shit on 6.0 they are actually pretty good heat is what brings this truck to its knees. when i worked at ford most the time when these trucks came in it was not the headgaskets it was the egr cooler once it burnt all the coolant out of the system then the truck starts to run low on coolant and that causes the head gaskets to go this is why EGTs are the most important on 6.0s even with it stock i would still run an EGT gauge.
fossilknife Even if your engine oil and engine coolant temps are low, can your egt be high? Do they work together exc, im monitoring my eot and ect but dont have an egt. i have an egr delete 4" Turbo back without cat. sctx4 tuner using just the +50hp tune
It's sad how bad of a wrap the 6.0L PSD gets. Honestly the emissions are what killed it. But with the correct upgrades the 6.0L can be a very powerful and reliable engine. I have seen them in very low temps start right up where D-Max and Cummins have trouble. Not to mention the 6.0L is the only Diesel engine that can keep up in Torque and Horsepower in Diesel power competition
Double Clutch the egr cooler is a very small part of the upgrades. Biggest items are actually the little things related to the heui injection. Studs and o rings with a good machine shop touch up on the heads really make these things what they can be. I love my 6.0. It’s a 15,000lb service truck.
Yes you will, the later 6.0's have a different head bolt design compared to the early 6.0. Its a wise investment anyway regardless of the mods, the egr will take out the head gasket and coolant will get in the cylinder and the compression will lift the head. Lots of info if you search.
There goes the head gasket, injectors and egrcoolers not to mention the turbo.Dont get me wrong im a die hard ford fan and own a 06 6.0 but to do that without doin the arp head studs, egr delete and bigger injectors you;ll be asking for problems.

At the 6 minute mark he tells an obvious lie, reliable horsepower, there is absolutely nothing reliable about MOST 6.0's much less ones with after market parts/modifications in which the egr delete and head studs are not accomplished, it only makes sense that banks would offer a head stud kit and at a minimum a egr delete with products that claim 120+hp, They're basically selling a time bomb to un aware truck owners
Fuck staying legal. Delete that EGR and trash the resonator, cat, and muffler. Let that baby breathe!

At the 6 minute mark he tells an obvious lie, reliable horsepower, there is absolutely nothing reliable about MOST 6.0's much less ones with after market parts/modifications in which the egr delete and head studs are not accomplished, it only makes sense that banks would offer a head stud kit and at a minimum a egr delete with products that claim 120+hp, They're basically selling a time bomb to un aware truck owners
lol you wish
little did Stacey know, the 6.0 was gonna be a POS 😂😂😂😂
