I ❤ this podcast! A 13 year gastric bypass patient and now on Zepbound. I had gained 60 pounds from my 111 pounds loss after surgery. Started taking Zepbound and now I’m back to my initial weight loss again! I’m perimenopausal now and my only issue is now my doctor wants me to come off of Zepbound against my personal wishes?
@@apoundofcure My Doctor stated two reasons why. 1. I have had a complete lifestyle change and she believes I can maintain without meds. 2. We don’t know the long-term effects of taking this meds. I was at 7.5mg and now I’m on 5mg, due to her bumping me down. I’m due to see another doctor on Monday while she is out on leave. I’m hoping that I can convince this person to keep me on 5mg even though she left orders for me to go down to 2.5mg
@@DeniseM-24 Got it! Thank you. I’ll put your question on our list to be answered, in-depth, by Dr. W and Zoe on an upcoming episode of The Pound of Cure Weight Loss Podcast.
Four years ago (as a postmenopausal woman), dropped and kept off 50 pounds via a whole food plant based diet, which I still follow. There are other post-menopausal women who have lost, and kept off, more than 50 pounds following such an eating plan.
Question is about protein shakes... I've seen some info (I believe some from you too) about protein shakes stalling weight loss. Does that apply to people who are using them almost exclusively or is it across the board? Does 1 a day affect it? Just curious on your thoughts about this...
Everyone i know who has done keto has lost a really good amount of weight.....only to put it back on and then some. Saw an old friend recently who is bigger than before due to keto dieting.

Do you know why he wants you to go off the meds? What dose are you taking?

Fabulous session thank you 😮
Glad you liked it!
Dr. Weiner, how do you and Zoe feel about intermittent fasting for gastric bypass patients?
