Mason, Nice display of a couple different chargers and how to use them. I always recommend using the app to other EV drivers as a lot of times those card readers are defective. Activating through the app works the most reliable for me. Also with Electrify America you can activate the charge before you get out of the car which can save time just look up at the charger to get the two digit ID activate it verify that on the screen it says plug-in to vehicle. Then you can hop out and plug in your vehicle, this is very useful if the weather is not conducive to standing around outside. Another app I highly recommend is plugged share available on iOS and android. It’s a crowd sourced Charger map that has all sorts of chargers listed. You can find hotels that have Charging etc. Easy to filter on chargers that are above 50 kW or 100 kW or by vendor like only show Electrify America and EVgo.
Great video's. I will recommend getting the Chargepoint RFID card as well as the app. In some rural areas with hilly terrain, cell phone service is not available. Not to mention the possibility of forgetting/losing your phone, or having a dead phone battery. Just leave the RFID card in the owners' manual.
Mason, you’re killing it with your vids!! 🔥 🔥 Question: On the first charging station, you said it was $5 for the session. Does that mean it would cost $5 to fully charge? Or was it just $5 for the couple of minutes you were plugged in?
Thanks brother appreciate it 🤙🏼 Great questions I should have clarified.... the first one I was at has a flat session fee of $5. Some others may be free as a lot of them in Nevada and others will charge you per kW just depends! But some chargers are a lot more of a bargain than others 😉
Mason, I am about to order a Taycan XC. Do I need to select the AC 22 kW optional charger? What is it really for? I’m in Europe btw, not sure if that makes any difference.
Hi Maggy! Congrats on your future Taycan XC! In terms of the AC 22kw charger it is for faster charging at home. Most homes here in the U.S. aren't able to put out this kind of power without modifications. This would cut at home charging in just over half to about 5 hours! Most people have been okay with the 10 hours on the 220v standard 9.6 kw charger. I don't believe this would be necessary at this time 👍🏼
Yes you got it 👍🏼 May be a little for the Active Parking Support as there are no vehicles in the US that have landed yet...but am anxious to try it out once they begin to start arriving and I will make a video! 👍🏼
You may not have EV Gateway in your area, but they are great and have mostly 200 KW chargers. You can get an RFID card which is a thin charge card from them that draws from your account and just needs to be tapped at the station. I just took a trip from NW Arkansas to Ft Worth and used them until I got to Ft Worth where I used an Electrify America. The trip did not take any longer than a gas car. A better route planner shows them all.
Thank you Paul! No kidding?! Awesome! Swing by if you are ever in the area again! Did you end up ordering one? I have noticed that the Irvine Co. charging rates are amazing!
@@Pcarwhisperer Yes, its the demo Turbo you guys use. Im waiting another year while Porsche gets better residuals on their lease and works out the kinks. Its the best all around car on the market right now. I need it in Mexico Blue/Shark Blue!
I find that Electrify America stations unreliable the two nearest me are never fully functioning with up to 3 out of 4 unavailable. Is this a nation wide issue? I didn’t realize that Electrify America/Canada are part of the VW organization. Best Darius

Thank you Ron! Wow thank you for your feedback this is very helpful! And thank you for sharing the app info as well! Always appreciate your input 👍🏼
Mason thanks for the shout out great job.
You're welcome! Hope it was helpful 👍🏼

Thank you 🙏🏼 Great suggestion! Thank you!
So many choices. Takes the fear out of availability of charging stations! Great video.
Yah it does! A lot of options to charge electric vehicles... and more are being added everyday 😊
another very informative video! great job man! thanks!
Thanks Buddy appreciate it! Plan on filming your Panamera video very soon 😎 👍🏼
@@Pcarwhisperer woohoo! looking forward to it.. thank you!
I appreciate these videos, they've been most helpful...but I'm still having trouble now with the new Porsche app. How to work this one???
Hi Michael! Glad they have been helpful! I will try and create a video with the new app to show all the functionality! 👍🏼
Great video and great music!
Thanks Alex 🙏🏼

Could you do a video on how the Porsche Inno drive works and how the Taycan can parallel park itself.

Thanks Charles! Appreciate the feedback 👍🏼Love the simplicity of it!
Great video. Wonder if Ohio has an abundance of stations. Guessing I better carry a few Duracells around here if I ever get a Taycan.
Thank you! 🙏🏼 Looks like to be quite a few Chargepoint stations in Ohio with less Electrify America Stations but I am sure they will build more 👍🏼
Check out plugshare.com or install the app on your device. Easy to look for chargers in your area.
Chargepoint is 👑
Great videos. I test drove that exact demo Taycan last month, now I can't drive any other car
Ps Irvine Co has cheap charging rates

Yes I have seen this issue throughout the US with chargers being out of service quite often.😞
Same here. My experience with EA is that they are unreliable and now very crowded.
Why does the chargepoint show as 30 kW in porsche navi if it can do 60?
Great question I have found that sometimes the kW are inaccurate on some chargers and do not display correctly in the PCM! 🤔
62 kW is super slow.
Yes compared to the 350kw stations out there is quite slow
Useful, but ditch the opening BS. Thanks.
Thank you for watching, good thing you can fast forward on UA-cam. 👍🏼
