Analysis paralysis will never get anyone out there in the field. Like Ben Hogan always said, the answer is in the dirt. Get out and USE the machine. I love my Manticore. 245 silver coins dug with it this year alone!
👍Great demo video Scott. Always sharing and working hard to get the best results. Great cameo Rocky!
Thanks Steve, yes his cameo wasn't planned of course haha is it ever?
You know we want to see a followup to this, tested with the new S/W update available now, right?
Read this and I thought it was a good way of putting it.The MANTICORE is a very different detector to the EQUINOX, despite some similarities. It was specifically designed with heavily hunted-out sites in mind, which are now much more common for most detectorists, and where finds are becoming increasingly sparse. It is intentionally much more aggressive than the EQUINOX 800, and is designed to stop users on iffy detections more often, but also to provide the user with more information on which to decide whether to dig. We would expect an experienced MANTICORE user to dig iron more often than with an EQUINOX 800, but over time should also find some targets that an EQUINOX 800 might overlook. The consequence is that the MANTICORE can be a more challenging user experience, and we find that most experienced EQUINOX 800 users need to go through a period of adaption to get the most out of a MANTICORE.
Well put. Thanks!
I really love this video. Could you test again with the iron, but with gold? Just to see how it reads? I figure it'll be the same. If you have a smaller DD that'd be cool to see also. I've been thinking of picking up a mine lab and the Deus it's right there too. So far, I'm a Garrett man 30+years. I use the GTI 2500 and the AT Gold nowadays.
Great video!! I love these. Thank you
When you slow down the swing it’s definitely a target I dig.
Yep maybe we all need to slow down :-)
Yeah...okay...I almost pulled the trigger on the Manticore. But I'm not convinced yet, and my CTX is just fine for now. My Nox 800 is still good enough too. Plus I'm just learning the Legend right now. The Legend has all my attention right now and I'm really liking it, not sure if its because how easy it is for me to get going with it or the fact that Nokta doesn't have the Minelab arrogance.

Stick with what works for you. I was just out there messing around and hit the record button. Just wanted to share it. As far as Nokta lacking arrogance, I would go back a year and watch all the FB attacks that were unleashed at folks who didn't agree w/them about the performance of the Legend back then. The result was you got a really great update in V1.11 and it really is good but they are as arrogant as everyone else is IMO. To their credit, they finally got it right. I think you will see an update soon from Minelab that may change the game a bit for the Manticore but what do I know? Thanks for the comment.
But you don"t have the new coil (not talking about the 8x5.5) for the sea water
Is there a new coil? News to me. I read where they some planned but not available unless someone else has them (UK, AU, etc.)
The machine acts differently on nails when they are in the ground. It’s mainly square nails that it falses on
Sure does
Thanks for sharing!!!
My pleasure!!
Question, my first time out with the manticor my ID turned blue and read 99.
I dug the hole and found a wheety and 1945 mercury dime.
The question is why did the number turn blue was it the program and if so I thought I was in all terrain high trash stock setting.
Is that normal for that setting
Let’s go, let’s go treasure💕🌺✌️👵
Lets go!
It’s giving a good ID also I dig lots of silver on a river spot that is loaded with rusty old iron you have to dig those iffy ones I just dug a Asian made gold ring that is 24k with mine $500.00 worth of gold!
Now thats good find right there! Congrats!
Thanks for vid.
You bet
It looks like all ways you get the red line and hear the iron so I would pass on it thinking I was false on the iron.
Rick you don't always get the red line. @3:26 and beyond there are clearly no red lines so I would probably dig it. Despite the pattern.
Why is that hillside so bare? It almost looks like a mini PA mountain side burn off.....
I use weed killer on everything to cut down on the mowing.
Being a relic hunter, iron is not a bad thing. Can't tell you how many times a concentration of nails lead me into a hut or thrash pit. Iron falsing is no fun for coin hunters......hopefully if there is Minelab software update it won't have such a rocky time of it like Deus
100% agree Ron. Good point.
Thanks, Scott. Does the Deus 2 have the same results when the Silver is not elevated? I own a Manticore and really enjoyed your videos on how to use it. I currently run your coin shooter program. Thanks again!! 👍
The D2 will pull it out when not elevated. Thanks for watching!
If Minelab gets their iron fixed for us folks that hunt the HEAVY iron, and offers a 9-inch range coil, I'm in! My Deus 2 is very good in iron. But the new software V 1.1 that I waited a year for realistically tests and works the same as V .071in iron with some bells and whistles. Full tones are better however, probably better in parks and the beach. But the new software will not get me one more thin dime on the lip of a cellar hole. Disappointing overall.
Sorry to hear my friend. I like the new update but I'm not hunting like you are.
@@MentalMetal Hey man, what's up !!! I am fine with the Deus 2 like it is, as you can only tone hunt in iron that thick anyway ...... you have seen my cellar finds, I'm OK (-; I think I just got lost with all the update hype. You can only go so far with the circuitry you have in the machine. I was a technician for 35 years, and on big software updates, we always had to update/or add circuit boards. Maybe it will have to wait until the Deus 3 !!!!!
But Scott, just like the falsing nail, your still getting the red line and iron sound. Would you really dig that mercury dime and not the falsing nail?
Ken @3.26 there is no red line so I probably would dig it.
As you say yourself, get to know the machine. What goes beyond the ferrous limits you will recognize with a twist movement as iron, while you will visualize the coin better on the screen. There are enough tricks to be convinced about a target's feedback... It is up to the user to learn to recognize it👍
I like your videos....but this one...have no learning content...but a 1000 views ?...
