    Now these kind of videos are what I’m looking for. Much better than the same old , same old. Probably one of your best instructional videos I’ve seen. Good to see the big boys can all play together nicely too. Hope you continue this trend Calabash. I would like to also see the differences in park , field , beach and gold modes as well. This video on frequency was well explained and on point. Look forward to more.

    This is the kind of tutorials that I learn stuff from. Very well done Calabash. I'm still trying to figure out which program and why, using a notching system, would be the best program to use on a coin shooting program on the D2. I have one I believe set up in general now and it works great but always looking to tweek things better and still learning what causes clad to come in at a closer VDI reading in some settings over others.

    Thanks for the video. According to Andy sabisch the Legend on M1 is weighted as follows 4 kHz being the highest then 10 then 15 20 and 40 at the lowest end of the weight. It's the exact opposite on M2 it starts at 40 being the highest.I'm not sure about M3.

    Observations from a youtuber’s video, testing frequencies with an oscilloscope: Equinox 800 & 900 frequencies (appear to be these on the oscilloscope, approximate): Park and Field modes run 7.75kHz & 38kHz, Beach modes run 7.75 & 38 (& possibly a 3rd of 17.95), Gold modes run 7.75 & 38kHz.
    Manticore: All Terrain General 7.75 28-29 50kHz, ATF same, ATLC same, ATHC 13kHz 48.5kHz, ATTR 7.75 28-29 50kHz, Beach modes (possibly 4 freq) 7.75 13 28 50, Gold modes 7.75 28 48. The big unknowns, are how much of each frequency response is actually being sampled or used in each mode, other than their "lower/higher weighted" mentioning (all controlled in circuitry/processing/algorithms/etc).
    Deus 2 is the only one that displayed 4kHz into the mix, in dive mode and in deep hc.
    The guy notes in his comments, the lack of an observed lower frequency with manticore mode ATHC, he tried to see it, but didn’t. Not sure if maybe his oscilloscope is maybe only two channel model, thus why it charts perfectly on D2 and the two frequency modes on the minelabs, not sure.

      I’m not sure if I completely believe these values, especially for AT HC on the manticore….The ‘core manual even states (on p.38) that the AT HC mode can achieve an operating frequency below 4 KHz…. Did you leave out the lowest freq for AT HC in your above reply? 🤔

    • @Aswaguespack
      @Aswaguespack Рік тому

      For RF frequencies thé measuring device usually recommended is a Spectrum Analyzer which according to technicians is more accurate for measuring radiation at RF frequencies (than an oscilloscope).
      I think that maybe there might be a Detectorist out there who has access to a Spectrum Analyzer or possibly knows a FCC Licensed Radio Technician who has a Spectrum Analyzer or has access to one in a Lab to test the frequency output of some of the devices currently being discussed.

    • @UABFWSS
      @UABFWSS Рік тому

      @@captnse yeah, it would be nifty if someone else out there would post oscilloscope findings from it. Just posting what I saw, which appeared to be spot on for 900 and D2 (and 800 in the past). They don’t emit RF from the coils, only from the bluetooth radio.

    Calabash would you try doing a land hunt in the Dive program.
    Salt sens 1 recovery speed 2 as this is the optimal setting for running this program.
    Also its better in full tones.

  • @kody3377
    @kody3377 Рік тому

    When in hunting in heavier iron sights with Legend would you notch anything out? I always leave it wide open. I like hearing all tones & iron. Also if you hear a nice high conductor and you also hear a iron object next to it. Then if the VDI is jumpy you know it could be a good target.
    Correct me if I’m wrong.
    Awesome video man!

  • @andysboxinggym4972
    @andysboxinggym4972 Рік тому +1

    If I want to just search for silver coins is there anything wrong with detecting in strictly the lowest frequency only? With the 900.

    • @captnse
      @captnse Рік тому +3

      You’ll dig more trash in single freq operation….bottle caps will tend to sound like a high conductor in single freq operation….also, you may not be able to unmask a deep silver coin next to iron in single freq as well as you can in multi-freq. I have hunted in multi-freq for the last 15 years, and I hunt trashy turf/parks for deep silver.

    Great job CD. Really well done and informative.
    A couple thoughts:
    If you touch on this subject again compare signals on your gold coin to the silver coin - using the different programs. New detectorists might be surprised at what a difference the program choice can make.
    I find it helpful to go online and read the owner's manual for machines I'm possibly interested in buying, long prior to buying the machine. It helps me better understand that machine, and (hopefully) helps me make a more informed buying decision as to which machine is best suited for my soil conditions and the targets I most want to find.
    You might want to put a link to the owner's manuals for the machine(s) you are discussing.

    Hey Big Cal
    Do you think it's better to stay in Multi or move to say a 40 for looking for objects that come in the foil to nickel range (Bronze) I will check it out when my MD gets here,
    Been working in the single frequency for the last 40 years, except for my CZ-21
    I'm getting so old, I go back to the push button retune days, but not the BFO days thank God.
    Thanks, Have a nice thanksgiving 🦃

    Hey Calabash, how about doing a head to head comparison on newer pin pointers? I have the one that came with the Anfibio Multi. Works ok I guess. Would like to know how they compare, or which ones are good, better or best. Anyways, thanks for the great videos you produce.

      I’m in agreement with that. Would love for you to show 5 of best models on the market and do I comparison test. I use the Garrett At & does very well & I like the easy On/Off button. Did not Like the Nokta Pulse dive at all. Hated the buttons. Had the Minelab Pro Find 35 for a short period & also didn’t like the buttons or the sound.
      I’m interested in the XP MI series or the Tek Point/fisher F Pulse. I’ve heard the Tek Point is deeper? Idk 🤷‍♂️

    Excellent video calabash thank you for being unbiased towards the metal detecting vendors. I've read some terrible comments that people have written about you and your videos. I guess these people are jealous or maybe they just like drama I don't understand them. Regardless everyone probably has their primary detector that best suits their ears soil ect. Like you said there is no perfect detector. I love my Deus 2 but for the price I feel XP could have given us a better lower shaft than that wobbly thing that comes stock. I love Minelab but there tonal nuances not so much and I feel the ergonomics could e better.Respectable Debates is a good thing.
