After nearly 4 months of sitting idle, a boulder pile makes a fool out of me. Felt like such a rookie. Larger rocks than I thought but no excuses. Handled so much worse than this in Montana. I killed it 3 times, and each time the traction control resets and I dont turn it off. This is why you don't go this long without practice. Riding like the first time all over again. Was good to be back on the trails though. Still embarrassed about what those rocks did to me. 😂
Great video, thank you for sharing. Aside from tires, skidplate, and bark busters, any other upgrades worth mentioning? Are you still running the 15/45 sprockets?
Thanks! And yes Sir. I dropped the front sprocket down to a 14 tooth and it brings the bike alive. So much better low end power.
Had any problems with the bike? Thinking of picking one up.
Hey bowkill! Thanks for stopping by. So there is a known low speed stalling issue with the bike but that is about it. It is present in some of my videos but was not a huge deal to me. Most KTM/Husky bikes have it. I believe it can be solved with a booster plug from best dual sport bikes. Other than that, no issues. It is a ton of fun to ride and the lightweight is welcoming offroad. It has plenty of power once you get past the break in period. Best in its class easily.
Hello, what tyres are you using on your 390?
I'm running a Pirelli Scorpion Rally front and a Motoz Tractionator adventure rear. Same sizes as stock.
Very curious. I have the adventure bmw 310 and debating taking it on trip from NM to Canada on the great divide. I just got it so not changed tires or tested much, you feel confident the 390 would make it through anything yet or starting to see it’s shortcomings compared to that 690 enduro or overall thoughts? Hope your channel blows up! We are headed soon to the KAT also so look for our videos as well!
Hey Jaron! I'm fully confident in the 390. Would tackle most anything. After what I've put it through already I feel very comfortable taking it through the gnar. The 690 is definitely more capable offroad just because of clearance alone but so far the 390 has held its own. I've not had any clearance issues though anything I've tackled really. If I get into trouble it's usually because I've picked a poor line. Much like in this video lol. I've tackled worse sections like this one and had no issues. Love the 390. It has been a great little all arounder. I'll give you a follow! The KAT is a challenge no doubt. Will be the ultimate test for a bike.
