Youre most likely focusing heavily on shooting it high. A big thing to remember: everyone is shooting it high. So what is your opponent expecting? A high shot. In your head, it's essential you get that perfect shot, realistically, think where they're not expecting it, not where you want to shoot it. The biggest thing about shooting is shooting where the opponent wont be ready. Y'know where that is? Bottom corners, lower parts of the net. In the same spots you'd normally shoot high and miss/get the ball saved, shoot it in the bottom corners. Otherwise my best advice to at least not smash the cross bar is to hit it with your car on the same level (this will put it straight at there net but with more power so train this with accuracy and shooting the ball where you want. Hit the ball with your car when the ball is SLIGHTLY higher than you to get it more upwards), not with the ball higher or lower than your car. If you're hitting it off an upward bounce then jump BEFORE you get to the ball and flip once you're there. This is because if you hit the ball while you're below it, I hope you were intending to hit a double tap instead because that ball is going everywhere except the net. And of course if you hit the ball with it below you.. you're one of those people that messes up the play so hard is confuses the defender and you get a free goal or get annihilated.. Either way, it's annoying asf.
Any advice I have a tendency to wait on the other team to hit the ball to make my play but that always makes my team8s mad like should I just go for it and possibly miss I got to champ using this
Play, your, way. Learn how to play the way you enjoy to the best level you can. So watch your replays, try and find what things aren't serving you, especially habits, things you do consistently. Also look for where your lack of mechanical ability makes it uncomfortable to do things that you otherwise wanted to do at any moment, or made you too slow to get where you need, or resulting in misses. I'd be interested in watching your gameplay though, just because I like looking at other people's gameplay, you can upload replay files, the ones you save in your game, to ballchasing, that's a site.
Personally, binding directional air roll to square/x worked really well for me. Before, I was only using regular air roll on L1 and it was too limiting. For beginner practice, I would go to freeplay, pick the "Pillars" map, and my goal was to practice flying a figure-8 around the two pillars using direction air roll. Then once you're able to that consecutively, without hitting any surfaces, do the same, but now you have to hold down directional air roll the whole time. This practice is going to help you familiarize yourself with what happens to your car with each turn of your joystick while using directional air roll. Good luck ✌️
hmmm. I've learned to fly around with directional air roll on my own. I wasn't on PC and none of the tutorials helped me find a sense of direction or clear idea of how to learn it, mostly because they were vague. Part of it depends on your mentality. Probably the best way would be to individually master each joystick input, one at a time. So that by the end of it you have a clear understanding of them all, I didn't feel motivated to do that though. So, learning something, directional airoll. Have to find a way you can stand to do it, ideally enjoy enough to stick with it. I started by flying around with air roll after every goal, and always during the after game celebration. I noticed after a while that while air rolling after goals, I was, at first very imprecisely, able to fly my car where I wanted. In After game celebrations, I got better at keeping my car facing straight upwards, and recovering if I fell. I realized after these had both improved to a certain point, that I was learning air roll. Something I'd bounced off immediately with every other attempt and didn't think I would learn anytime soon, I thought it'd be the last thing I'd learn. Then, and this is the training method I actually recommend. I just started flying around maps in freeplay. Often when I had to do something else boring, I could just mindlessly fly around, and my precision improved. BUT!!!, this is important. I can't comfortably fly around without air roll, like with my car upside down, side ways or upright while facing me. I don't have a clear idea of the inputs I'm making while air rolling, while I can fly where I want to reasonably well while continously air rolling, I haven't learned to make deliberate small adjustments, it's difficult to transition from air rolling, to regular flying, back to air rolling again. And I can't just make individual air roll adjustments comfortably. Your air rolling will be best if you can actually learn to understand and master each possible joystick input, one at a time. But, you also won't learn if it's too boring to sit through. If learning in a more structured, deliberate manner is too hard. Just fly around different maps, even if you do it mindlessly while listening to something, watching something, on a phone call, while doing work that doesn't require you to physically do anything, or whatever else.
Maybe I just don't have enough hours in the game, but the last bit about playing slow doesn't click with me. I can't figure out what it actually means. Like what am I going to do in game that's going to help?
I don't like spookluke's gameplay style, lots of ways to play, but I can help. The mistakeare. players put themselves out of position to comfortably defend, shoot, receive a pass or whatever else. Players position so close to a teammate who's competing with opponents for the ball that they're not in a position to intercept where the ball could go from there. Sometimes Players go for the same ball their teammate's already going for. Wherever this is happening on the field, the negative outcome is the ball goes past the mistaken player and ends up closer to that player's net than the player is, or in their net faster than the mistaken player can comfortable intercept the ball. Luke's reasoning is that players are rushing into a good and comfortable position to intercept attempted shots at their goal, outcomes from their teammates competing for the ball, rebounds off the walls or passes. They get into the good position, and then continue to drive past this area, or closer. Or the players are getting into position 'early', get bored of waiting, and are creeping forward or going for the ball, and ending up too close to intercept the ball. Spookluke's solution is to deliberately take your time getting to your far post for example, so that you arrive there just before the opponents attempt to shoot for example. Spookluke also cares about 'momentum', in this context, that's allowing the car to keep rolling or moving without deliberately having to slow it down. I don't personally care about that though. Point is. Stay far enough away from ongoing plays you're not involving yourself in that you can easily drive forward to wherever the ball goes.
honestly i don't think speedflips are that important if you can make up for it in other mechanics.. Granted i peaked c2 in 3s but i also have never cared enough to sweat. I play car soccer to have fun. Even losing consistently can be fun if you just don't care about mmr. I'll still pass to the teammate that's not there and whiff on open nets, it's still a fun video game.
bro the players have changed some much like everyone in d1 is brain dead but the minute you get high d2 every one is flip resetting no joke some of the d2 has the mechanics which got you gc back in 2018, i dont know if it is just the server i play on where every one is insanly good at the game but in my ranked matches if you cant make insane aerial plays you cant score.
put boost on right bumper or if you have already moved your power-slide to a bumper, you can also make your square button (x on xbox) boost so you can fat finger jump and boost
@@GermanMarte-yg8io its all situational. If youre doing arial mechs you want to learn them with directional. Unless youre okay with being hardstuck. @@ashtonbrimhall5416 I understand that but isn’t it only possible to use one meaning I would have to choose air mechanics over recovering since it’s pretty hard to recover without normal air roll unless every time I gotta do something in the air I gotta speed run bing directional air roll because I think at plat-diamond recoveries and Ariel mechanics are just as important

EH, nah. I'm slightly lower rank, I'm interested in seeing your gameplay though, and you can watch mine if you like. But I think you're probably not identifying many mistakes. Despite what this coach, that content creator or these pros say. There's different possible solutions to mistakes and ways to play though. So it's not like you have to play exactly as they say. The only absolute failure is conceding goals, or conceding more goals than your team scores at least.
After watching it alot of the stuff i consider Basic's, Not mechanics, to me mechanics is a extension of basic stuff needed, but have just signed up for the course to try improve myself as well, lets see how it goes
Yes it is. I didn't think I'd ever be able to speedflip either. My focus on it though was never kickoffs, I just wanted to be able to speedflip comfortable whenever I chose to. That's how I trained, driving around the map and constantly speedflipping in different ways. I suck at speedflips, but I can do it, it's possible.
I just got to be a solid diamond. For some reason immediately I'm constantly bounce dribbling at full speed and flicking to make it unpredictable... so true what you said about diamond, in 2s anyway.
@@ashtonbrimhall5416 I’ve been playing on and off for a few years now just got back into the game again a few months ago but I can definitely tell not being able to half flip has put me in some major bad situations. Something I shoulda learned at like plat but was rushing my ranks yk
Below champ You don't need mechanics. If You got bad gamesense, even best mechanics not help You. I got trash gamesense, and i got diamond 1500h+ Im unfixible...
So what do? Clock hours hoping my smooth brain figures it out? Most of the time when I get scored on I'm sitting there pretty sure I could have stopped that chain of events from happening, but no idea actually how though.
Eh. I don't see it. If you've learned to comfortable control your car exactly where you want it. Changing how you play would be really easy, because you don't have to learn anything. Just check your replays, look at the consistent unhelpful behaviours you're doing. Think about what would be better, and improve them. Conceding goals is the only absolute mistake I'm aware of in the game though. If you could play, no matter how 'dumbly' as other people say, but you don't concede goals in your game, you won't lose either. Besides learning to stop conceding goals, you can look for ways to improve your success at other aspects. Like scoring goals more consistently.
All you need is good fundamentals and you can get high gc please stop this propoganda from hardstuck plats thinking you need to triple reset musty double to get gc😂

Point is. Stay far enough away from ongoing plays you're not involving yourself in that you can easily drive forward to wherever the ball goes.
its funny when he says all you have to do is rotate backpost to “easily” get champ lmao
honestly i don't think speedflips are that important if you can make up for it in other mechanics.. Granted i peaked c2 in 3s but i also have never cared enough to sweat. I play car soccer to have fun. Even losing consistently can be fun if you just don't care about mmr. I'll still pass to the teammate that's not there and whiff on open nets, it's still a fun video game.
im still gc with 0 mechs, i cant even flip reset consistently.
Same here lol this guy thinks getting gc is hard lol
bro the players have changed some much like everyone in d1 is brain dead but the minute you get high d2 every one is flip resetting no joke some of the d2 has the mechanics which got you gc back in 2018, i dont know if it is just the server i play on where every one is insanly good at the game but in my ranked matches if you cant make insane aerial plays you cant score.
I cant get the perfect fast aerial because i cant hold boost and jump at the same time what should I
do?
Change your binds mate
put boost on right bumper or if you have already moved your power-slide to a bumper, you can also make your square button (x on xbox) boost so you can fat finger jump and boost
Practice doing the two at once.
Wsp❤
Also I can’t choose between directional and normal airoll since one is better with ground okay the other with air mechanics
Unfortunately you need both. If youre gonna be flying it shpuld be directional, if youre recovering just use normal
@@ashtonbrimhall5416 how do I use both at the same time?
@@GermanMarte-yg8io its all situational. If youre doing arial mechs you want to learn them with directional. Unless youre okay with being hardstuck. As someone who used to only use normal airroll it only gives so much control in the air. But when doing recovery mechanics and airroll shots use free airroll instead of directional
@@GermanMarte-yg8io it all depends on your binds i completely forgot my controls werent standard😂😂 but imo you need to find a way to hit either comfortably
nope i still have zero mechanics and im still up here
Thanks for the tips! Always helpful and interesting!
Do you coach people that play on Keyboard and mouse
Yes the GCB does coach keyboard and mouse players. They have a coach who has over 10k hours on KBM
Why would you need separate coaching specifically for an input device? Its the same game fundementally. I dont know what difference a coach on kbm would make
@@alexmaldonado2804 well some things in rocket league it’s better to have a coach that knows how to play on your device so it’s easier to help but I get what you’re saying
@@Mastergray123 I guess, but what do you really need help with where having a kbm coach would benefit? I play both kbm and controller (mainly kbm) and I'm struggling to see where it would be beneficial.
Luke what happened your video that saying I am quitting RL + YT. What happened mate? I am happy to see you again but why did you say such a something like this?
YES, YOU SPIT FACTS
i have good game sense i can speed flip half flip wave dash and im aware of my opponents but i have bad shots and mid ground dribles so im still plat
Not watched this guy in ages, what in the testosterone happened?
just about to watch, based off the title You can, im gc1/2 with very little mechanics, struggle to do alot of stuff, it is doable
After watching it alot of the stuff i consider Basic's, Not mechanics, to me mechanics is a extension of basic stuff needed, but have just signed up for the course to try improve myself as well, lets see how it goes
Luke, im gold but i can airdribble, half flip and wave dash, is that good?
No, you have to hit flipresets every time and you good bro.
@@ChampagneEditzツ 😂😂😂
I cant do any of those and I'm champ. Ok I can do a really fugly slow ass half flip 😅
@@youngc570 I'm C2/C3 and the wave dash is my only good mechanic lol
now the question is: Can you get grand champ with no gamesense?
Maybe we should try 😂
Is it possible to speed flip on console? I’ve tried but I can’t seem to get it
It's possible on every platform. You'll get it eventually
W SpookLuke
The discord link isn’t working for me
I read the title and I saw change or Denmark
thx
Is it true that the FIFA asked RL to be the next eFootball game for (at least) the next eFootball World Championship!?!?!?
Still hard to get gc for me
I just got to be a solid diamond. For some reason immediately I'm constantly bounce dribbling at full speed and flicking to make it unpredictable... so true what you said about diamond, in 2s anyway.
Dont lose this playstyle youll dominate
@ashtonbrimhall5416 well thanks, I'll try to keep it up and improve.
@@cre8ivelife554 and when you need a new move to add do air dribble and air dribble bumps out of the bounce dribble
Even a bounce shot to the back board and finish w/ a double tap
im plat and i can do all of this, why? cause I almost finished all of the training packs
Why aren't you GC then?
@@DasIstGoose i just reached diamond, bro r u even gc? I need time to rank up
Didnt wayton have a vid about getting gc without mechanics😂
A while back.
Luke you looked better when you shaved
alpha boost is faster!!! its why its called “alpha” boost and not “beta” boost
I’m c1 and can flip reset but can’t half flip for the life of me 😂
This is the problem with rocket league now😂😂 why arent people learning to half flip in gold and plat. Im an og from 2016 but like why not learn it.
@@ashtonbrimhall5416 I’ve been playing on and off for a few years now just got back into the game again a few months ago but I can definitely tell not being able to half flip has put me in some major bad situations. Something I shoulda learned at like plat but was rushing my ranks yk
What a nice video !
You can get ssl with barely any mechanics
look guys its the con artist
Ngl I'm GC2 with negative mechs lmao
Where can I watch gameplay?
Below champ You don't need mechanics. If You got bad gamesense, even best mechanics not help You. I got trash gamesense, and i got diamond 1500h+
Im unfixible...
You don't need flipreset but that not what being decent mechanically is.
I dont even reach diamond since two seasons..
My friend is GC and he has no mechanics
Because you think mech resume to air-dribbles and flip-reset which is wrong.
@@paulowwwww no llablo ingles?
Basically...Don't be brain-dead xx
I'm a hardstuck plat
We all are
Lets be hard stuck together
and I dont know what u mean by basics
Fast
All you need is good fundamentals and you can get high gc please stop this propoganda from hardstuck plats thinking you need to triple reset musty double to get gc😂
Luke u such a stud
Muito com o vídeo ♥
can check your socials luke, thx vro
Yo ❤
Bounce off what?
I was wondering if I could have some coaching I’ve been hard stuck in gold and silver, but I know how to do mechanics
Just out of curiosity which mechanics do you know and how consistently are you pulling them off in game?
has nothing to do with skill its all luck
Definitely a gold
Sad because the only RNG in the base game (not rumble) is where you spawn after getting destroyed. Definitely a skill issue
Yo!
