@randylofthouse9271 I do. I only eat raw fruits now a days and some vegetables, but It's just too many Junkfood restaurants or animal flesh pushing restaurants in America and it needs to change, and one day it will because we as a whole are very sick in health and obesity do your research and you will see how America is the sickest and the foods they train us to eat are banned in some countries.

Going on a 30 day water fast starting tomorrow, then trying my best to go back vegan permanently. Good inspiration here. I survived on salad and veggie stir-fry for 9 months, but I'd like to learn more so I can keep it going easier.

Food of Africa has become my absolute favorite...Very easy to be vegan thru it...For that matter, their music, dance and garb is also my fave...Glad to say, I very often try ethnic produce wherever I am. wish Kush was my chef.

A lot of the ingredients used are native to the Caribbean, not Africa and the food of the Caribbean has mixed ethnicity, not only African so to say food of Africa when talking about Jamaicans would be incorrect. Its food of the Caribbean, which is from within the Americas, Africa, Asia, and Europe, combined to make the foods of Jamaica or the Caribbean

Ital is vital. Certainly even cannabis will recalibrate and compel ones to seek REAL FOOD. In any case: be thankful for the nutrition one has access to, and cultivate when you can.

Say Caribbean foods are… not “ Jamaican” , all the same foods you find in Jamaica 🇯🇲 you find on St Kitts, St, Vincent, Barbados 🇧🇧, St.Thomas as well as many other island in the western hemisphere, we also trade with each other. I say this because he mentioned that vegans haven’t given credit to Rastafarian culture for a burgeoning plant food culture but was pushing the idea that only Jamaica has a vegan diet.. no acknowledgment of the other Caribbean countries that also eat vegan foods.

You missing the point. Blak ppl in Afrika or Caribbean generally eat meat. Ital or vegan was rare amongst blak ppl before Rasta. That’s the point.
If your island has a history of ital or vegan then share it. Otherwise ppl will only talk about Jamaica and not the other islands. Don’t complain, just explain.

@@solarscience5815 not true, you’re stereotyping “ most people in the Caribbean and Africa. I grew up eating ital… not tintal cooked in a yaba… clay pot, over three stone , no meat was allowed , no deaders and I’m not Rastafarian. It’s not rare “ among black people”. In fact, meat 🥩 was more a luxury item than just eating everyday vegetables sourced from tribal gardens.

@@scampishfoxx3138 You’re still missing the point. You’re acting like you’re the rule and not the exception. I told you state clearly these communities so everyone can know and not just you.
Furthemore provide proof your community was ital before Rasta in 1930. Otherwise it’s just talk.

@@scampishfoxx3138 Meat was never a luxury among black people when our ancestors are known to be hunters in Africa. Eating Ital wasnt by choice for most but by circumstances until Rastafarians branded the idea.
Edits: I also watch Asian movies and their monks abstain from eating meat, but I dont know if its all product from animals like original Rastafarians or its just meat.

Glad he’s. Poking healthier plat options, but please don’t try and rewrite the ancient Rastaman history by saying salt is ital. to the ancients bongo man being ital is a way of life and rejecting Babylon colonial ways/ appetite. Ital to the bongo man is no salt no sugar (unless it’s sweetened with something like sugar cane juice), no fork no spoon no pots, no purified water, natural hair etc! Don’t be like like the colonizers and re write history. Rastafari is the memory of the Jamaican people
