    I've been following you since you first uploaded the video of pouring the concrete slab for the large power hammer you have inspired me in so many ways from The Woodworking knife making blacksmithing to how neat you are and how your strive for perfection in all you do you have even inspired me to make my own bread weekly LOL I want to say thank you and the bottom of my heart for your wonderful videos the education and inspiration haves truly bettered my life thank you sir from Houston Texas United States with respect

      Him, Alec Steele, and Eli from the UA-cam channel ZNA Productions have all inspired me to work with my hands more often*. I credit Torbjörn and Alec for my first ever anvil I bought about a month ago.

    Thank you for including that part where the metal fell over after you tack welded it. It gives great comfort to those of us who are no where near your level of craftsmanship.

    Thanks, I just built myself a new shop and now have to store all my tools and materials in a smart way, I don't think I need such a big and professional rack (I don't have so many hammers nor do I need them, and chisel hammers and punches will get more over the time but for now I have only 5 or so), I think I will build a similar rack like that one from wood that you replaced :)

    I thought it was funny that you have so many hammers that you need to make a new rack for them, but then you do what most other people would do and use whatever's nearby to knock the tube into alignment 😉

      trackdog90 That hacksaw does not screw around.
      It takes me more time to cut bread than it does for that power saw to cut square stock.

    Im feeling stupid today, built a rack out of wood only to find out it doesn't suit my hammers or hold them properly where it was meant to go.....Then i look at ones like yours and go boy am i feeling dumb today so many other simpler ideas

    AUGH!!! Hammer envy strikes again. It is nice to find the one you need (or forgot I had in my case) without tearing the shop apart while the steel is burning up in the forge. Nice job.

    Usually i clean the square pipes when they are 6 m long tthen yust the small spots of welding and grinding greetings Thorbjorn

    The spacing between the two tubes the hammers rest on is tricky; having them sloping downwards is a nice solution. Thank you.

      Yes, there is no generic solution, find something that works for most of your hammers.

    That is one beautiful hammer rack Torbjörn. I also especially love the power hacksaw. I have an old “Racine Junior” and it works wonderfully. I broke the last blade for it, so new ones will have to be gotten. Eventually. Haha

    Lovely demo of your hammer rack, very precise and I particularly love the 'hammerblack' paint finish. ...A year or so ago I built mine from some old, tough straight-grain pitch pine, so when I plonk my hammers into it, it's a nice dull thud instead of a clang.     I absolutely loved the part where you were aligning the tubing to ensure it was square, and you tapped it with the engineering square [WINCE!]. My first thought was "Hmm, if only he had a hammer he could do that with...." Awesome rack! I do hope that those are eight STRONG wood screws though!

    I guess there is no such thing as to many hammers ^^ ... also fairly sure they once made a song about this 'I see a tool rack and i want to paint it black' (or something to that effect) ;) ... tnx for sharing, while i like the end result, i can't but think that hammerracks should probably be made out of wood, i dunno, probably some oldfashioned notion, doesn't make your rack less effective nor cool looking, just says something about my preference for tool racks ;)

    This video is lacking something very important, the boiled linseed oil!
    Since the ends of the square tube are not capped, i would suggest forcing some oil into them to prevent them rusting from the inside. It's not beautiful when the rust starts dripping out in the future.

      The ideal number of hammers is N + 1, where N = the number of hammers you currently have.

    make a blunt guard for the sharp end of your anvil so a child wont run into it and hurt themselves or you bend down and do the same. Maybe a simple magnetic guard that is easily removable. Just a suggestion.
