You don’t know how much I enjoy watching all of you trying Japanese traditional clothes with so many different styles; I’ve loved Japanese traditional clothing since I started iaido, sadly it’s difficult for me to buy some of these clothes, keep doing this!!!
That was a great video, what fun! I actually completely agree with the lineup, loved the summer and winter - though I just generally don't like brown/yellow colour pairings, I still liked the kimono for spring/autumn 😁
In my opinion, Kazu looks better on the second outfit and the third outfit. Kazu has very dark hair, dark eyes and light skin...according to the color analysis theory Kazu is Deep, therefore, he can be autumn ( deep + warm) or winter (deep + cool), which means medium colors and dark colors fit Kazu better. I'm a woman, however, I love many color palettes of men's clothes. I like the variety of colors japanese women can wear and I like how well the colors of japanese men's clothes fit each other.
@@Cotfi2 Yes, I could order it, but then I a) can't directly check the quality and whether everything fits, b) the delivery times/delivery routes are for the a... thanks to Corona and wars and c) such individual shipments are not environmentally friendly. I'd rather go to a nice shop where I can get advice, try on clothes, etc. I would also pay a little more for that. Or I have to wait until I make it to Japan in a few years.
I would rather have the fantastic wealth to be able to afford all of those things, and businesses are very much dependent on remote orders, especially with how restricted tourism is. I hope to help at least one shop make it through the week.
If you have any anime conventions, check there. Sometimes they have people selling Kimonos at Anime Conventions. I got a pair of Hakama from a seller at an anime convention
I like the spring/autumn one best! I like patterns and striking visual contrasts. So the brown with the mustard yellow obi and the pattern it looks very nice! Man, i couldn't wear hakama, for some reason I think the open sides where you can see the kimono underneath, as well as the obi, strikes me as embarrassing. Must be a western idea about not seeing clothes meant to be hidden, plus if I was wearing a pretty obi like the yellow one or the daruma I'd want it to be seen!

I wonder what your opinion is for a westerner wearing a kimono. I have always loved the romanticized Samurai culture and I play the role playing game Legend of the Five Rings. I would love to get a kimono to represent my character in the game.
Shogo actually mentions this in a few videos, but yes he encourages anyone interested to learn about and wear kimono! I can't speak for Japanese people personally but I know that he and others express that seeing the traditional culture enjoyed by westerners helps keeps it alive for both non-Japanese and Japanese people, and that's a really special thing when traditional Japanese culture is at risk of dying out.

At last some kimonos for men. I really enjoy it. Now, the summer kimono was the most beautiful indeed. Winter kimono was also OK, but the spring was less beautiful due to the brown colour and those patterns. Rightfully Kazu chose the summer kimono. Kimonos look good, I think I would be comfortable...a concern of mine would be: what if running full speed is necessary? Will the kimono or hakama stay on and up and tight enough?

Also I would like very much to obtain a Shamisen, however, I have a very non-Japanese situation: I am left handed. Are you aware of a Shamisen shop that would construct one? Honestly, it seems that I have a similar taste as Kazu: I also liked all the kimonos but summer was my favourite, winter was second and spring/autumn last 😅.

Are there any kimono both men and women can wear? Also, if someone is a woman, but really ugly and disabled so wearing this cute and difficult women's kimono would be a problem, what to wear then? I know already women can also wear the hakama and all, so it would be easier to wear and walk. Are there any short cuts for wearing kimono for disabled people? I'm sorry.
Its good for special ocassion when you have time to spend on fixing yourself. Not for everyday fast pacing life in a busy modern city. If you have to hurry to toilet, then you might not have time to take it off, then boom the splatter. Nightmare for people with sensitive stomach

Being Kyōto's sister-city, it's certainly possible to get them here in Boston, but it's not as easy as it sounds.

Kimonos look good, I think I would be comfortable...a concern of mine would be: what if running full speed is necessary? Will the kimono or hakama stay on and up and tight enough?

Shogo, please refer us to websites where one can purchase these items. I have a hanten I love. It is better for winter but it transports me to wonderful places. Also I would like very much to obtain a Shamisen, however, I have a very non-Japanese situation: I am left handed. Are you aware of a Shamisen shop that would construct one? You site is a grand opportunity for those unable physically or financially to appreciate and absorb your culture. domo arigato.
Honestly, it seems that I have a similar taste as Kazu: I also liked all the kimonos but summer was my favourite, winter was second and spring/autumn last 😅.

Are there any kimono both men and women can wear? Also, if someone is a woman, but really ugly and disabled so wearing this cute and difficult women's kimono would be a problem, what to wear then? I know already women can also wear the hakama and all, so it would be easier to wear and walk. Are there any short cuts for wearing kimono for disabled people? I'm sorry.

Its good for special ocassion when you have time to spend on fixing yourself. Not for everyday fast pacing life in a busy modern city. If you have to hurry to toilet, then you might not have time to take it off, then boom the splatter. Nightmare for people with sensitive stomach

Adding the haori himo to the haori adds flair increasing style points. It's akin to men wearing a tie clip with their tie for pizzazz.

They where all very nice but I think I loved the Winter one the most with the patter on the belt it made it fun.
