    Could you do a video for the goofy on a right hander? I surf easily on the left handers but my local beach is right hander. I find it slower to get up and turn to be at the right angle for pumping etc also I dont pump well on my heel rather than toe. In Bali I surfed left hander 6ft waves! But cant seem to pull off the same as a goofy going in the other direction.
    Secondly I have just had a baby and 4 months later I am back in the water and sadly feel Ive lost all that progress I made a year ago. I feel like Im a learner again, my paddle strength is getting better but popping up is terrible and Im slow. Any tips for the female surfer after birth? Thanks!

    • @HowtoRip
      @HowtoRip  3 роки тому

      Great idea, absolutely. I would suggest seeing a Physio or PT and getting a specific strength and fitness program. This would help fast track your strength, etc...Time in the water is the other thing, you just need more time practicing in the surf :) Congratulations also!

    Hello, I’m 14 years old and live on the Coastline. Im confident enough to start learning to surf but first I need a board. I’m 125 pounds and 5’10”. The beach’s around me are roughly about 5 less than 6 feet tall and the water is about 6/7 feet deep. I want this to be my go-to board. Any help or suggestions on what board I should get?

      Hey Egg, I would suggest starting with something basic, like a 7ft foam board or similar. Even look at second hand mini mals. This way you can get started and get out surfing, hopefully with a higher success rate. That go-to board can come once you improve and start turning, etc...Initially keep it simple.

    Hey I am new to surfing and am looking to get a fish board. Im 6’1” 185lbs. Would a 6’4” retro fish be good for me? Also do I need to worry about whether its dual or quad fin or is that something i should focus on later?

    • @HowtoRip
      @HowtoRip  4 роки тому

      There are many variables, I would suggest speaking with the local surfboard shaper. They will be able to point you in the right direction! Good luck!

    • @rhidiandavies1991
      @rhidiandavies1991 2 роки тому

      If you're a total beginner, which is what it sounds like, just get a cheap 8ft+ foamy with plenty of float. You'll have more fun and you'll improve much quicker. Everyone wants a short "hard-board" when they start because it looks cool under their arm when they're walking on the beach with it but I promise you, you won't look cool in the water when you try to surf it! Although I'm a mediocre surfer at best I've been doing it since I was a kid so trust me when I tell you trying to be a peformance surfer is overrated, just focus on enjoying the water. It's always fun to get on a mid-length and catch every single wave that comes your way.
