Wow!! This guy is the GOAT? Not a smidge of arrogance about him. This guy is as modest as you can get. He is what we all wanted to be while racing local motocross.
The things Ricky did will never be equaled. Those who weren't a part of the sport back then can't fathom the degree of sheer DOMINANCE Ricky achieved. The perfect seasons, the team changes, and the continued dominance right up to his final race and subsequent retirement are so impressive. I remember getting bored watching Ricky but I was a fan so I continued to cheer him on since I had followed his career since him early amateur days. He is truly the GOAT and always will be. Mark my words!
RC is great. I love listening to him and Langston banter back and forth. Of all the things I've done: MX, skydiving, my firefighting career, jumping off bridges and shit, bull riding was the most nerve wracking thing I've ever competed in, no doubt. It took a bit to get my nerves under control, so I can see why RC was like "no way" to the PBR comment. I was able to ride rodeo until I was almost 40, and RC would've probably been a great bull rider. He's short, tough, determined, won't quit...the bulls would've cried uncle, lol
I had the privilege of watching RC's entire career and he IS without a doubt the greatest of all time. He did it with grit, determination and always conducted himself like a champion. Much respect to RC.
4 hours and 41 minutes of RC??!!!?? 🤯 There goes getting anything done today!!! I’m so glad you guys are doing this, it’s a service to the legacy of this great sport.
I am a 55yr old male still ride MX every weekend and I absolutely love you guys Ping and GL.Your interviews are outstanding and very entertaining . This you tube channel is the only one I am subscribed to,David and Grant are both on the mark with the questions, getting deep with technical and also with humor. Keep up the great work!!!
Ping owned up to the "RC show" comment. I felt bad for him, he explained it pretty good. Ping sure seems like a pretty solid dude. He most definitely deserves credit for the the show. It's quickly become one of my absolute favorites.
Best thing about R. C. Was how cool he was to my then 10 year old son, he’s 26 now and neither one of us will ever forget those 60 seconds. The yellow #4 hat he signed is known in our house as the sacred Ricky hat. Ping and Grant, don’t change a thing your doing something very special. thanks
Truly amazing part of this show is, being able to see the real personality of your guests. RC is one the coolest and most down to earth Legends of our sport. Hard work, and Fear built the GOAT. Epic. P.S. - Don't talk shit around Mitch Payton,...he will sell you out. LOL!
great interview from rc. he broke my heart watching him dethrone jeremy in 01 when i was a kid but damn, im glad it was him. such a hard working humble guy and i loved hearing his perspective on it. he really is the greatest guy to ever race a dirtbike in my eyes
Hearing Ricky talk about his childhood brings back an old memory. It was early '80's or so and I was at Dade City Mx doing the "weekend warrior" thing, and happened to pit near to Ricky and his Dad. I believe I even lent them a sparkplug and/or wrench. Anyway, as the day went on I talked to Ricky a time or two and what struck me was how respectful and even shy he was. I've never talked to Ricky since, but hearing him talk makes me think he never strayed from being that good kid.
I'm not even further then the first 30 seconds in and now that you've got RC there you guys have finally solidified your place as a top show. That's only in my opinion
So many people talked shit about Carmichael back in the day. I always thought that's why he retired. Nice to see him nowadays, people give him the respect.
I’ve always been a Langston fan, but I have mad respect for him after these podcasts. And hey, I’m an MC fan through and through, he’s the King, but RC is for SURE the GOAT 🐐
I wish Honda didn’t do RC wrong. The Honda years were tour de force. I also love Rickys track designs. His designs are not conventional and I love that part. He thinks outside the box.
Was able to catch this video in its entirety! RC knows moto then and now! Another high school drop out that could not change his focus. Being from the SCV I've been able to chat with a few of the great riders including Roger. RC is the GOAT's because he had what it took, plus some. Cool that all of you guys, including Fro can get together and give us fans an inside look of the sport. Thanks!
I went to school with sellards and its crazy when you guys were talking about your amateur days I always brock leaving school to go racing. I always looked up to him and Marcus. The good ole days
I got to see R.C. In 2002 at the Pontiac Silver Dome when I was 12 he looped out in the first couple laps dropped to the back and race back to 2nd with a broken visor in his face. I think Ramsey won not to mention M.C. Was racing that night won of the greatest races ever. R.C. Became an invincible hero that night to me
I too saw RC in 2002 @Daytona only time I ever had Pitt passes. Met so many riders I had looked up to as a kid. Also saw him in 98 in Charlotte when he was on Splitfire/Kawasaki very muddy I remember which was not a problem for him growing up riding in wet conditions
The Biggest change for Ricky on the 250... when Kawasaki and Mitch sat down with Ricky and asked him. What do you need... Ricky told them he needed a bike built for him. That photo is SO Iconic... MC looking over at RC...only we now know Ricky was WaY out of control. At San Diego is when Ricky took the Castle. This is why Kawasaki 'always' lost the best riders. The didn't innovate like the other MFG. at that time.. and they had a this Old School Mentality of Loyalty. Call Suzuki and tell them they Great White Hope is coming over
Was at millville when he lapped second place, can't go out more on top then that. Bikes were stuck on the track and Ricky was doing tricks on the last lap like it was dry
Hahaha this is the best show I've seen. So funny . Great stories and great questions. Keep it up guys. Ricky. I was 100% out of control there. Hahahahhaha .✊🏻✊🏻 braap
Great show. The only feedback I would offer, is more pics, like show Ricky's bike when the conversation turned to the bike that was there or pop up an image of the bike to remind people.
Whiskey Throttle Show just keeps raising the bar, awesome show! I was not aware of all the history between Ping & RC, really enjoyed hearing about those days.
I can attest to Carmichael over-jumping jumps. First race I saw him was at Sacramento. Dowd was all the talk. But, what I remember is standing next to a jump just before an uphill that went next to that tree and dropped back down. When Carmichael would over-jump that jump and land, the ground shook. Was f'in scary. But it was even more fun watching him!
RC is the man but he’s smart and he holds back a lot. It was cool hearing his story because I idolized him but yea he’s not letting the juicy stuff out for sure lol.
Never been a huge fan of Ricky I have always been in awe of his brilliance on a motorcycle but never have been a fan but listening to this interview has kinda changed my opinion he is a pretty funny den to earth dude
Pingree is dead on about Fernandez in those early races for sure. On a different note it’s brill to listen to Ricky talk about his racing career, legend 👏
I love Ricky, he’s my favorite rider of all time no question. But I have to disagree. Ever since I was 5 years old all I wanted to do was ride. Still all I want to do to this day. I would do anything to have had parents like Ricky had.
Not trying to bash on RC, he is of course the greatest of all time on a dirtbike, but he had more than one DNF. Besides the Southwick DNF he crashed out of Anaheim 1 Supercross in 02, and maybe even others i cant think of.
We had to go to music we had permission to use. Love Volbeat, but they didn’t respond when we asked about using it. We know the Dirty Heads and Sublime w Rome.
Hour of cardio each day, full body gym workouts, and FIVE TANKS of gas through the bike three times a week............that is what it takes, probably even now.
i didnt even know who you guys where and then I found this really cool graphics kit that I bought from skda and I had never heard of the whisky throttle show until now
Man listening to rc talk about being scared to lose and always striving to be better somewhere reminds me of Jett and how he looks at racing. He can win and look disappointed in himself.
Great show; RC was a great racer, but he's an even better human being. Ping is an awesome host & champion at running the show. GL just likes to interrupt the guests to talk about himself (and it's annoying).
IMHO I know of only 1 professional athlete qualified for GOAT status. A Florida boy named Slater(btw still on WSL @ 50 yrs old and still winning😳). While the RC era is one of my favs and I completely understand the reasoning, I have a problem with a sport who already has an undisputed KING.
What a cool dude R.C. is . thank you great show .
Wow!! This guy is the GOAT? Not a smidge of arrogance about him. This guy is as modest as you can get. He is what we all wanted to be while racing local motocross.

Well said. I, too, have been a useless piece of shit for the last 4 1/2 hours lol

My favorite episode yet !!!! RC is a great guy
Such a priceless interview. Thank you all.
Ping owned up to the "RC show" comment. I felt bad for him, he explained it pretty good. Ping sure seems like a pretty solid dude. He most definitely deserves credit for the the show. It's quickly become one of my absolute favorites.
I keep thinking after every show, 'that can't be topped'---only to be proven wrong. RC is an awesome storyteller! Great show!
How is this podcast not bigger!
Whats crazy is he was 5 more moto wins away from doing it in ‘03 and ‘05. 5 motos from 4 straight perfect seasons is absolutely absurd.
Best thing about R. C. Was how cool he was to my then 10 year old son, he’s 26 now and neither one of us will ever forget those 60 seconds. The yellow #4 hat he signed is known in our house as the sacred Ricky hat. Ping and Grant, don’t change a thing your doing something very special. thanks
O
Great Rc interview, found WTS a few days ago and it's been non stop watching, keep up the great work guys.
Just wow. How blessed is this sport to have this guy as the GOAT. can't think of a better guy in any sport. Makes one proud
Nothing but RESPECT for Carmichael. What he accomplished on 2 wheels, WOW, the GOAT.
Truly amazing part of this show is, being able to see the real personality of your guests. RC is one the coolest and most down to earth Legends of our sport. Hard work, and Fear built the GOAT. Epic. P.S. - Don't talk shit around Mitch Payton,...he will sell you out. LOL!

they did Hannah wrong, Mcgrath wrong and RC wrong...typical honda with superstars.
So many people talked shit about Carmichael back in the day. I always thought that's why he retired. Nice to see him nowadays, people give him the respect.
I am so glad you guys do this show.Rickys show is just as good 447.
I’ve always been a Langston fan, but I have mad respect for him after these podcasts.

That was brilliant, how awesome is RC 👏👏👏
That was incredible! Definitely one of the best podcast on Moto. Love the format 3 racers talkin racing and. F yeah!
Great show lads! Jeremy and James must be on it!!!! Have A nice one!
This has to be the best whiskey throttle show

I was also there. I distinctly remember the fireworks going off when Ricky crossed the finish although he got 2nd lol
Ricky's first bike was on my birthday 😳 damn...
Freaking love these whiskey throttle shows.

watched the whole thing, such a great time and RC is the GOAT.
Classic! Amazing episode. Love the GOAT
Very interesting. What a Down To Earth person.Says so much about his success.Thank you.JHB-SA.
The GOAT! Nuff said. Thanks for doing away with last call. Congrats on second season!
Great show!!! More entertaining than last nights race.
LOVE RICKY HE IS MY FAVORITE ATHLETE
First time I seen Carmichael was an 87 at Good Times Mx park in San Antonio. 60 class lol. Unbelievable to watch! Nice way to grow up kid 😂👊🏼 #goat
Wow that is cool...I use to race with Bogart and Reynard back in the day. Charley’s dad use to work on my suspension, that is awesome.
Really loved listening to RC talk about the calorie intake
One of the top 3 episodes! FYI if NASCAR did city road courses...I might even consider watching and going.
Great show as usual! Should have at least mentioned your last guest's achievement..Ricky Brabec winning Dakar! 🇺🇸 amazing!
RC is the man but he’s smart and he holds back a lot. It was cool hearing his story because I idolized him but yea he’s not letting the juicy stuff out for sure lol.
Awesome show. Here’s a thought for future SX races. Bring Ping in the box to call the race with Ricky. I think that would be a great team!!
So good thanks guys!!
Never been a huge fan of Ricky I have always been in awe of his brilliance on a motorcycle but never have been a fan but listening to this interview has kinda changed my opinion he is a pretty funny den to earth dude
RC was trying to put the clamps on Ping and Grant!! 😮😮😮😮😄😄😄😄😄
The thing I miss about the old days compared to the new generation is the nicknames the old generation had for the riders.
Pingree is dead on about Fernandez in those early races for sure.
On a different note it’s brill to listen to Ricky talk about his racing career,
legend 👏
AWESOME!!! Nothing more to say!
One of the best shows to date.
You were my favorite racer in 2001
Really cool to hear the details behind why he left Honda. Always knew it was about money but damn, HRC took a gamble and lost.
I love Ricky, he’s my favorite rider of all time no question. But I have to disagree. Ever since I was 5 years old all I wanted to do was ride. Still all I want to do to this day. I would do anything to have had parents like Ricky had.

THE GOAT
GO BACK TO VOLBEAT! DAMN
I don’t even like the volbeat song but it brings better energy for the show intro
Change back to the old music. It was legend music for a legend show!!
That was great.....good show boys!!!
Love watching every show...really love the dirtyheads and sublime with Rome.
Kevin Smith was that the song in the beginning?
@@c_hess5649 "franco eyed" in the beginning and "blackout"
RC was cool too...
who thumbs down this specific show?!
Best show ive ever watched👊🏻
Perfect thing to listen too as I do my fork seals and stem bearings
Thanks GL for calling out Stewart. "No dancing around"
Call Ricky Carmichael the GOAT in front of a bunch of MXGP guys and watch how pissed off they get. It is Funny as hell! 🤣🤣🤣
Ricky says "dude" as much as the new kids say "bro"
3:54 come on RC you dont know what you highest gross year was ? please these rich guys are something major bonehead
45:46 About RC beginning.
i didnt even know who you guys where and then I found this really cool graphics kit that I bought from skda and I had never heard of the whisky throttle show until now
Just waiting patiently for McGrath to appear
WHat an amazing career!
RC doesn't tell Honda his ACL is no more just to race for the nation. This kind of thought process is lost to the millennial's.
RC has become so eloquent in his speaking.
RC gets carsick.. whoda thunk it
NOOOOOOOOOO, bring back Volbeat!!!
Hell no Volbeat f***ing sucks
That's Dirty Heads. Great band and more dynamic than Volbeat. I like them as well- don't get me wrong.
Volbeat blows lol
@@tyalore2826 I don`t totally disagree, but they are better than the rap shit they are playing now.
Get Pastrana in there!!
yes they definetly should

I can't believe you didn't ask him about his final race at the 2007 MXdN at Budds! He didn't take a checkered flag, but he won that race for us!
Another good 1
yea RC always reminded me of forrest gump especially on that whip 226: yep perfect gump style RC the GUMP
i cried a little when rc and ping interrupted gl. Poor guy
Great show; RC was a great racer, but he's an even better human being. Ping is an awesome host & champion at running the show. GL just likes to interrupt the guests to talk about himself (and it's annoying).
What year was that picture of Carmichael with McGrath? Carmichael had it laid over
I think 01 anihiem parade lap...??
Good times !
The Uncle sounds like Jim Fenton who I saw race at Sunshine Speedway in Largo many times. Small world!
I remember watching races with Ricky. He would get into the lead and you would pretty much stop watching the race.
I have a Yamaha tri zinger . Blue, in my shed
What is the new opening song?
