He was also nicknamed 'The Shark' if I'm not mistaken. I remember watching the 250 Nationals of 1994 and the way Larocco would come out of the pack and reel in other riders was so incredible. Stanton was no match for him that year.
Mike won the '96 Washougal National round with a 2-2. I can't forget him and Henry going flat out side by side. If they hooked handlebars that time, it would have been ugly. Great ride.
First watch of this episode 2 years late. Such a fantastic episode. Always loved Mike. I remember when I was probably 10 or 11 on 65s asking him during a track walk how to get good starts 🤣🤣 He probably thought I was being such a smart ass
Back in 2003 at washougal he told me I was too young to be his fan, I spouted off all his stats, and he just gave me a look and signed my poster haha. Legend! Thank you for putting Mike on!
As expected, another great show guys! 🙂 Of course, I didn't expect this to be as 'Entertaining' some of the previous ones. But I was impressed by your effort to get Rock to talk. He's always seemed like the type of guy that only likes to talk if there's something worth saying. One of the hardest working guys the sport has ever seen. True Legend! 🏁🤘😎
I run into Larocco at the last Toronto race 2017 I believe. He was waiting to pay for his parking just like everyone else. He is genuine when he says he just wants to be a normal person. I spoke to him a bit about the team and also how Chad was gunning for his milestone of longest lasting rider in super cross, he laughed. Stand up guy, he is actually quite shy.
You guys are the best!!! I can't wait for each show. You are so real, you talk about real stuff not fluff and you're so funny and fun to watch. Thanks for doing the show it's the best on the net!!!
First of all these podcasts are way too long for my patience. But when I saw Mike LaRacco as a guest I had to listen. He was my favorite racer to watch years ago, he usually didn't start well, but came on strong at the end of the moto. So much so that McGraths mechanic would put on his pit board, "He's coming! " and that meant one person, Mike. Anyone else remember that?
Iron Mike. No one in his era was tougher. He just never quit. His starts were just about the worst in the sport, but he was usually one of, if not the, fastest rider on the track. I met Mike twice, '95 and '99, and he was great both times. Totally nice and we chatted for a minute the second time. He wasn't cold or a jerk in any way.
man i shook mikes hand and got a picture with him at pontiac in 2000 and this guy has HUGE hands. his hand dwarfed mine!!! i have small hands compared to ALOT of people but man mikes paws are GIANT!!!
A great episode. I can still hear Art Eckman " Mike LaRocco with the holeshot,...(stunned silence)……. now there's something you don't see everyday " :) All the riders in the late 80's early 90's had resting bitch faces till McGrath came along. Great show boys...
Wow! Too expensive to run race bike as practice bike... so there is a massive difference it would seem between the pros and privateers. I thought there were rules governing what can be done to a bike for that reason, but it sounds like the differences are quite vast.
Dude it is bad enough when Ping keeps smacking his lips each weekend with the "tsk" sound, but now he crunches ice in his mouth with a mic right there. I don't want to stop listening to the podcasts but it is infuriating listening to that, bro
Excessive heat and drinks dont mix... this podcast could have been so much better. Talking to you GL, you interrupted at least a dozen times, and some of them were to fill in the story with your own story. Mike already isn't much of a talker, and you killed plenty of good stories and explanation. You had your podcast. Lolz He could have expounded on some juicy stuff that could have been some stuff that had never been talked about, im mildly disappointed. Still good podcast considering the the circumstances, but not great. Keep it indoors and A/C. Lolz Thats the reality!!! Hahahhahahah
Did anyone count how many times Mike said "reality"? Uhg... He even added the word "real" in front of it a couple times. It's too much. I have to find something else to listen to. GL had the right idea (drink every time Mike says it).
He was also nicknamed 'The Shark' if I'm not mistaken. I remember watching the 250 Nationals of 1994 and the way Larocco would come out of the pack and reel in other riders was so incredible. Stanton was no match for him that year.

That was a great race for sure.

Another great rider from the past together with being a decent human being.Thks for the show.JHB-SA
Back in 2003 at washougal he told me I was too young to be his fan, I spouted off all his stats, and he just gave me a look and signed my poster haha. Legend! Thank you for putting Mike on!
Damn LaRocco is still shredded! Was so happy to see him on here--I was always a huge fan of the rock. There are few people as badass as this dude.
Excellent to hear the rock..thank you ping
Used to live 25min away. Went to a couple nationals in the 90's. Best party I've ever been to
great to see mike on the show, he was always my favorite rider ! ! !
Best one yet!! Class act dude and I love this road show deal!
it's so great when you let grant drink

This is awesome my favorite talk show is now partnered with my favorite bike brand
Hilarious Langston slowly getting pissed good skills
Ping & GL, epic show boys and one of my all-timers. (Digging out my 96 bell replica) #ridetillyoudie. Stoked thanks boys!
One of my all time favorite racers. Really was a golden era.....he looks like he is ready for pro wrestling now!
You guys are the best!!! I can't wait for each show. You are so real, you talk about real stuff not fluff and you're so funny and fun to watch. Thanks for doing the show it's the best on the net!!!
wow congratulations and "Thank you very very much" to go on with this show - I'm 46 now; so I hope you will go on for the next at least 55 years.
Great work gentlemen! Hey if you can handle your booze more power to ya! Keep enjoying making these!

Podcasting isn’t for you than the point is they are loose long form conversations. You want short cookie cutter questions watch boring old TV
Nice, ive been patiently waiting for this for too long.
Hell yeah the Rock I remember I got his autograph in 94 at Red Bud he was cool then and still is. I think he had a mullet then 👍
Definitely
Grant is the Best commentator in the sport, they should have him in supercross as well, I like pingrey as well...
He's great however I think emig is a pretty awesome commentator
grant is hammered...larocco is great
Red Bud 2019 was terrific but very hot in NW Michigan that day.
This was awesome.
The best exchange: Grant, "It's a lot of bike." David, "He's a lot of man." Mike, "Don't make it weird." 😂😂😂😂😂
Iron Mike. No one in his era was tougher. He just never quit. His starts were just about the worst in the sport, but he was usually one of, if not the, fastest rider on the track. Larroco is such a good ambassador for the sport showing age and staying power alone pay off if you put the work in
nice one. good points about self belief.
Langston is lit towards the end! Haha
man i shook mikes hand and got a picture with him at pontiac in 2000 and this guy has HUGE hands. his hand dwarfed mine!!! i have small hands compared to ALOT of people but man mikes paws are GIANT!!!
"You poor thing. Are you ok?"
LMAOOOOO
Love the show!! I thought the icon was gonna be on soon?
Since 1993, he's gone undefeated in the 500cc U.S. National Series. It's been 32 years since anyone else has won it 😢
Mike finished third at the second supercross of '96 if I remember correctly. McGrath 1, Bradshaw 2, Larocco 3.
The rock LaRocco, shoulda brought Sr with him lol
That would have been great. Mike Sr. can tell a good story and he can get real animated! What a great guy.
Really bummed I didn't make it out there this year.
Mike "the reality of it is" LaRocco
Lol, exactly what I was going to say! haha
Alongside Grant "I'm with you 100%" Langston
Look at GL at 3:00 and look at GL at 2:02:05
Great interview as always! News about David Bailey's one?
Giuliano Gullini I think it’s the next “live” broadcast in September at TLD
@@kevinvandusen3777 thanx Kevin 👍👋
just when I expected GL to fall out of his chair he would wake up and say something funny.
The reality of it is!!!!!!!
Damage, Inc. I’m watching this right now and if he keeps saying that I’m gonna shoot my self 😂
Seriously Ping, every time Grant interrupts you or a guest, make him lift his shirt and perform the truffle shuffle.
grant is hammered. lol great job boys.
I feel like watching LaRacco was fun
Damn mike is super jacked
Cool guy.
Langston is so pissed by the end of the show that nothing he is saying makes much sense, its quite funny to watch
Is that a laugh track in the background?
Where's Gaylon Mosier ?
Can anyone tell me what the intro song is?
Volbeat, a warriors call..
They kill
A great episode. I can still hear Art Eckman " Mike LaRocco with the holeshot,...(stunned silence)……. now there's something you don't see everyday " :) All the riders in the late 80's early 90's had resting bitch faces till McGrath came along. Great show boys...
I'll remember Larocco as the racer that other racers were darn lucky he didn't get good starts.
Iron Mike!
Brad LACKEY next !!!!!
Grant Langston! STOOOOP talking!
I didn't know I said Honda weird until you call Todd out on it. Thanks
53:50
RED BUUUUUUUUUD!
Loved the story about Emig. Jeff has never brought it up and nobody has ever asked him about his side of the story.
Mike Mike. awww Mike. lmao. hahahahaha. lol. funny as fuck 🤣
'99 High Point I was standing around the Honda rig and he came over, grabbed me by the shirt and pulled me over so he could sign it
This was great. Good ole national, dehydration and alcohol. Hahah
When did they fire Hulk Hogan?! Bring the Hulkster back!!
lol...great show
Holy Punch Drunk Batman!
Do the show at the rest of the rounds
Wow! Too expensive to run race bike as practice bike... so there is a massive difference it would seem between the pros and privateers. I thought there were rules governing what can be done to a bike for that reason, but it sounds like the differences are quite vast.
What?
Please keep Grant sober he can't handel it . Interrupting and being rude isn't good for the conversation and representation of your sponsors
Can you leave grants mic. OFF . Thought larocco was gonna split his wig....
whos the lucky squid that got grants sweaty hat
Lining the track with tires is a bad idea.
Mike's mom asked if we want pancakes at Unadilla back in 92 I guess
Thats some real deal class right there.
Not happening these days.
Dude it is bad enough when Ping keeps smacking his lips each weekend with the "tsk" sound, but now he crunches ice in his mouth with a mic right there. I don't want to stop listening to the podcasts but it is infuriating listening to that, bro
Google "Misophonia". It's obviously not life threatening but I suffer from it too, lol.
Excessive heat and drinks dont mix... this podcast could have been so much better. Thats the reality!!! Hahahhahahah
Sleeping and posting? Amazing, makes me wanna crank 46 and 2
Get hooked up with proper 12 whiskey.
Dam Ping throwing elbows?? Move over personal space there bro...Lol
GL the next time you have A thought, keep it to your self.
Gl and ping are funny mofos !! Roc is a stud but boring as fuc to talk to 😂😂
Did anyone count how many times Mike said "reality"?
Uhg... He even added the word "real" in front of it a couple times.
It's too much. I have to find something else to listen to.
GL had the right idea (drink every time Mike says it).
Didnt notice that, but take a drink every time Mike reached for the can. Im thinking it was just a nervous reaction to him being on camera.
GL is wasted!
