WARNING: The throws on the ailerons as supplied from the factory are very high, around 19mm travel. I would STRONGLY suggest only using between 12-15mm travel for flying unless you want very high roll rates and increased sensitivity. Rudder and elevator throws are 10mm and better suit this style of model.

YES..again nothing forgotten to explane, and to talk about !❤
Will be an awesome flyer, looking forward to the flight footage!
Really beautiful build, Lee! It's looking great! 😃
It's great that it has so much space for the FC and everything in the back!
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Great job explaining things as usual! Can't go wrong following your well documented video! Thanks!
Hi Lee, Great video on your setup and build of your Altus. I just looked at the Speedybee F405 and I can't wait to try one. INAV is the same as normal, except for the variometer, I have a couple of Gliders that this could be fun to play with. The installation looks great, I will be looking forward to the flight video. Thanks again for the video and information about the Altus.
Great share as always. Thank you Lee 🙏🏼😊
Thanks!. Hope to see your flight soon
Pretty nice build!!!
Appreciate your build video. Gave me some ideas for mines.
Just saw this plane up close at Beijing Hobby Expo, looks great. And ZOHD were singing your praises. 😉
I'm excited to see ZOHD starting to release the models they've had on hold. I'm sure there will be fun things coming from them in the coming months... Happy flying!
I am loving the speedybee mini. I had to build out the cable for UARTS 2 & 4 GH1.25 6P
It is a shame that there is not that cable in the kit... Happy flying
@@Painless360 I sent them a note via email and they reported that since it is an advance feature, they would not include it. They will provide it as an accesory for additional cost in the near future.
Hey Lee, great video!! How you know a pro is looking at the model? While you overthink a nose design for HD system, that in the end looks like badly injured platypus, Lee comes with a simple and genius solution....
Thank you for the comment. Link to the improved version linked in the description... Happy flying!
Thanks Lee, got mine on order. Nice build video - would really like that cover at the front for a digital FPV system 😰😰
Link for the files have been added to the listing for this video in the Patreon stream - supplied as it ;)
Nice ! I sure wish the company's would lengthen the front cargo bays more, they are getting shorter . CGing gets frustrating ! Enjoy the new bird !
It is normally when they are expecting some action camera to take up some of the weight. With modern HD FPV systems like the Walksnail Moonlight 4K cameras and lightweight action cameras like the RunCam Thumb Pro, this is less common now..
Thanks.. just waiting to receive mine and this will be very useful. I assume you could have soldered the wires for the ESC power side by side as well as top and bottom ie, all the +ve pads are common?
Yes, happy flying!
Another great video. Will you be reviewing the new Atomrc Theer Bat Delta ?
Yep, stay tuned!
Fantastic thanks
Similar experience here regarding the Vtail servos and grip position.
Looking forward to the maiden, but conflicted about having to add so much nose weight. I was hoping this would be different from the Reptile Dragon V2, another plane designed around running a full sized action cam that winds up being hard to balance if you want to build it light. I'm happy with the video from an O3 or Avatar, but even if I wanted a separate action cam I wouldn't choose a full sized GoPro.
Me too - I love the RunCam Thumb PRO, hard to beat for the price.
Hi Lee! Once more, thanks for an awesome video. There is always useful info in your videos.
I am setting a similar model and I do have a question. Due to space limitations I do have to make the battery and ESC wires connected to the FC somewhat lengthy. More than 15cm. Is there a limit/suggested length for the battery and ESC wires? If they are too lengthy, does it make sense to add some capacitors?
Cheers!
I've had long runs before and not had issues. Adding a cap can help with things like current sensors... Best of luck
@@Painless360 Thank you so much!
Great overview! Of course ESC calibration has been well covered elsewhere, and most of us know exactly how to do it, except for one tiny detail that seldom gets properly explained: Most ESCs emit several groups of irrelevant tones before they get to the ones we're supposed to respond to. How do we tell which merry chirp is the one that asks us to lower the throttle? If you ever show the calibration procedure in a video again, maybe you could shed some light on that? I usually have to go through quite a bit of trial and error before I find the right one.
It's a little trial and error. I made a few videos over the last three months that cover the process for new pilots... Happy flying
P.S. ua-cam.com/video/ySylTRgozzE/v-deo.html :D
Thanks for sharing all this great info, I just got one an Altus with the same SpeedyBee FC and your video has gotten me really close but but I am having troubles getting all my surfaces to move properly. Depending on how I connect them either one rudder or the other moves, sometimes the wing flaps and a rudder will move, etc. It looks like maybe you separated out the Y servo connector to be individual servo connections to the FC? Any chance you could share your diff all or share how you connected each thing?
I didn't use the y cable for the ailerons. Apart from that, the setup was exactly the same as any other plane with a tail... Best of luck
@@Painless360thanks for the response 🙏🏽I came to that conclusion last night and it helped but only my tail moves for pitch, not my ailerons. I’ll get it figured out!
That is how it should work. Pitch control is elevator only by default.. Happy flying!
Did you disable rudder control in iNAV?
I am new to hobby and about to assemble my first Speedybee board using your video. Can you give me more light on capacitor used, how it is connected, and why? Thanks!
It comes with the kit. It smooths out any voltage spikes in the battery voltage due to the ESC firing the coils in the motors. It can help with current sensing, as those spikes can cause them to read erroneously..
@@Painless360thank you for your reply, my speedybe kit is still in shipment will have a chance to get to know it this weekend I hope. I am newb here. 😅 Your videos motivated me to enter this hobby, cheers!
Thanks Lee. Im a little confussed why you have auto level trim set on a switch when you switched it to always be on in iNav. Are these two separate things? Cheers
Yes. One trims the attitude of the craft for level flight, the other trims the servos.. see my maiden process...Happy flying

Thanks again Lee. I have saved that to my iNav playlist which by the way is almost all videos from you. Cheers mate!

Hello again sir ....1 question...can we use pwm elrs receiver for this flight controller?
Yes, if you use the SBUS or CRSF connection... Happy flying
Tq sir...very informative vid sir
Hey painless360 I now have the speedybee wing mini for my harrier project ,it came with inav 6.1 and when i try to upload Inav 7.1 through dfu mode it says failed to open usb , I dont know why so any advice will help ,you are always helpfull and i always appreciate your help
See my video on DFU troubleshooting... Best of luck
Correct USB Cable? Not just any phone USB cable works. G/L
I can't help but notice it has a similar wing profile to the Swordfish. Trying to get a piece of that pie?
See my unboxing video. They share a number of features.. Happy flying
Can someone tell me please what's the purpose form the aux cable is? I bet it still wan`t pass the butter, and the manual still says nothing about that. Thanks.
Which aux cable, at what point in the video?
@@Painless360 on my Altus, out of each wing comes a cable with a „AUX“ sticker on it
There are three 'unused' pins in the connector for the wing. I'd check, but I'd expect that is what they connect to.. Happy flying!
Hello,
I received my wing but I can't program it. I have the same configuration as you. Can you make your INAV file downloadable please? Thank So much
My ESCs still beeping, I cant configure them…. :(
INAV configs are super setup dependant and I added the FC to this model so they won't be the same. If you're struggling then check out my INAV for beginners series for all the steps I use...
looks likea hee wing with a V tail
