The youngster was definitely better, and not because of the tapping. His control, tone, accuracy and vibrato were years ahead of the others
It's very simple. He tried to play music. The others were just trying to make "fast noises".
@ABOIsen69666 you clearly have never played any instrument or know music theory so I'll put it in a way even an idiot would understand. Guitar make noise when you pick it with pick and fingers go on fretboard and sound happens . ikr genius and hitting notes fast and cleanly is the whole point of a shred off but none of them were good cause they haven't played for that long. An instrument takes years to master. Then again if I were to use what you said music is just a bunch of noises some of the fast some of them slow. So stfu and seeth and mald to your hearts content.
Agreed Fully Brother 🎸

Your a tool
@@enderdragontenplays2631 No. He's right. And YOU'RE* a tool!
@@enderdragontenplays2631 Let's just say the talent pool was running dry that day.
But at least the kid has skills and time is on his side. When I heard the others, all I could think was, "Don't quit your day job". If that kid practise, there's a chance to do something with it. The rest? Forget about it and take up bass playing.
@@AB-80X Bass is actually pretty hard.
@@darthvader4339
Just having a bit of a banter with the rhythm section;)
I play bass in a Police coverband, I know it can be hard.
Where did they find these guys? Not even “play loudly in Guitar Center” good.
High Tide Happy I’m not the only one.
Perfect comment
A lot of us are undefeated in guitar center shit I know I am.
High Tide I was going to take the high road but holy sh!t! these dudes aren't even shredding..They kinda suck
Let's hear YOU play in front of Nita Strauss. Could you do better ?
honestly more than anything its just nice to see a 13 year old enjoying the guitar and rock
Youth pulled in by creativity is as magical as the music.
It's great to see some new young talent!!
Good player, must have practised alot. But the word here isn't talent.
@John The King Robinson So are you the kid or his dad?
@@nojeshei he's you're dad
@@lordpoochalot He is you are dad? Please go to school.
@@nojeshei lmao people here is stupid dont mind em
Use me as a
"I hate wonder kids button"
(btw not saying that I dislike the kid, I actually loved his playing style)
Yeah wonder kids 8 times out of 10 arent as "totally amazing no one has ever been this good at such a young age!" like the attention whore video makers make them out to be
Fucking wizkids
Wow!!! And u douchbags r Sooo great at what exactly? Running your mouth?
There was no shred in this video
it was more blues than metal honestly
Wtf r u ? Some kind of expert?
Better than I was at 13 but not jaw droppingly amazing. The other three were sooo sloppy. Lack of definition or just a lot of bum notes
yea
Shane Richardson I thought he was really good! He’s only 13!!!
In these type of videos they make them sound better than they really are
@@axeanimation2417 depends on how long he's been playing for though, Dedication is key for this boy!!
The kid was just ok...nothing more...the older guys were better
Lovin’ the John 5 poster in the background
So I designed a guitar that can do a lot of things................yep just like every other guitar out there.
Lol no shit and what the hell did she design on that guitar? The color scheme and hardware choice?
Lol, design the guitar....I was laughing too...
*_Starting to worry. Getting a really strong allergy to the word "shred". Might become one of the most overused words of all time if it goes on like this... Nothing against the players doe_*
Kamy GG I would have to agree. This is not shredding where I come from. Not even close.
@@killerreviewscom Yeah man indeed not even close. But even regardless of that, the word "shred" itself is becoming very intolerable. At least use it in cases of Malmsteen, Uli, Gambale, Petrucci or alike. U know what I mean
Shred is cool but i prefer melodic solos and i agree
@@radoslavpichl7738 Same here man. Melody is what makes it timeless.
@@Kamy.GG.Official i like a bit of both but I do generally prefer a melodic solo over guitar waknkery lol
That first guy has slash vibes
Blake Bumbalough that’s why he lost
gadar Lmao, you wish you were 1/1000th as good as Slash
@@Wyatt42069 ikr
@@gadar4373 so you're saying he lost because he is inspired by slash... umm!!! That's ridiculous considering most of the greatest guitarist of all time were also inspired by another great guitarist.
Wyatt G if you were a guitarist you wouldn’t say that 😂 he sucks you know. It’s like the people that thinks that Santana and jimmy page are the greatest guitarists ever
Of course youre not gonna follow that with only a pentatonic
Dude with the hat completely choked on his 10 second run!
AJ Brown he knew it too 😂
Did anyone else not like the amp setting???😂
God I think it sounds fucking terrible lmao
No doubt. Here's a guitar and amp. Don't touch nothing and play....NOW!
Maybe it's the recording as well.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Definitely not shred settings 😂
Not really shredding but thanks for posting. Congrats to the people involved.
This kid is a beast! He's really gonna go far!
2:48 dude in the sandals is like ahhh shit I’m done
Good work young man , yes the future of rock is solid!
Already better solos then the last shred competition.
Title is clickbait big time. Bu I guess "13-Year-Old Crushes Opponents at Guitar Shred Competition" sounds way better than the truth, which is "13-Year-OId plays okay, but nowhere near as well as 100 other 13-Year-Olds on UA-cam".
the thing is, you are correct but you must realize how youtube makes it look like there are more insanely talented people than there actually are.
He was better than the others who most likely have much more experience....But even if that isnt true, he was better.
They all sucked, but the little kid was decent considering his age.
He could probably upload a YT video playing a lot better for obvious reasons.
@@maaaaaap Also a lot of cheating -all my guitar vids are one take
This comment section is like a parody of guitar players...
A lotta comments from jealous fools who were probably shitty players at 13. Damn, there are videos of 8 year olds doing the Vai licks.....
Imagine having the balls to present Nita Stauss with such sloppy players lol
@GuinnessandPizza
My sides are hurting !!!!!
Damn !
@TheQuarterback:OutofthePocket
She does not suck, that's nonsense.
She plays well, and you definitely have a chip on your shoulder or don't know what good guitar playing is if you really think that.
Don't like the fact that a chick plays better than you? Lemmy would have been so disappointed.
Yoo This is sick, I’ve never seen anything like this before😱
Just saw my mom shred zucchinis that was more impressive than these guys
Brandon was better. Not gonna sugar coat it...those sandals deserve a win.
The guy around 4:00 had to have been super nervous or something.. that was rough.. man lol
PatrickFtw it was brutal. Palm muting every note .
I thought for a moment that Jared James Nichols was gonna enter, now he would melt some faces.
Young man did great
What is the name of of this guitar plz tell me
*just realized that metal is my type of music because of this*
That kid .... respect
That kid is really talented....
Bro, landon is a madman
Dem humble smile
That kid is really good.
Half these guys look like they are strokin a half chub..
The 3rd guy reminded me of a contestant desperate to please in Huston 500 lol
you have to admit no one really plays bends and pentatonics anymore everyone just sounds like steve vai these days, the last dude i jammed with that played bends ended up fucking dying so its good to see people keeping that style alive. real tawk
Quick get that young kid into a band and in a recording studio because he is good. I would support all of those kids if they were to make a cd and sell them
I really need to practice shredding and tapped harmonics
They should give full songs with rhythm with drums for an interpretation judge to see who would come up with the fire. The guy's face after the young man did it! He's a damn what am I going to do?
I thought that long haired dude was Mike the music snob for a second
he's good and has a mature vibrato but check out "These young guitarists can shred!!" on Jared Dines's channel. WAY MORE TALENT!
Is that the guy that wears the hat everyday because he's going bald
Yeah he wears the hat since he's guing bald
+dao allegro there is a difference between playing in your bedroom and playing live standing up without warmup with a guitar and sound you are not familiar with
He’s the guy with the. Big bald spot Jared dines that’s why he wears that hat
He just needs to shave his head
don’t know why people are saying that none of them are good, but they’re certainly better than me lol
Isnt this the boy who played at steel panther live concert?
If I’m right this kid played with Sevendust on stage
You like metal?
Yes right
Your breathtaking
They definitely said it in the video when they introduced him. FFS pay attention Keanu
I agree...
What is this dudes IG? Landon’s? From the thumbnail I thought it was Jack West
even if they lost, they were all still really good! i wouldn’t be able to do that!
@@mpmedia6735 Agreed dude, I'm not incredible but I wish there was some of these competitions near me it would be easy money lol
They are playing fast, but it sounds horrible and they miss a lot of notes
Kids lear so fast. I started when i was 16 and i can't even think about playing that well.
Imagine how the dudes that had to go up against a 16 yo Dimebag felt when they saw what he was doing...they eventually made him a judge and ask him not to compete anymore...lol
They said they were the best of the best 😂
I know this kid from childhood.
Wow his technique is impressive, he made every note shine. He did not look surprised to win indicating that he is probably a rock legend in the future 🤔
Holy shit dude i bet he could almost play the second verse of smoke on the water
We're is the shred ?
Hat boy got nervous 🤠
Damn if I had been there...
Sameee
Good to see some young kids ripping. Especially in a time music today is made on computer and nobody plays an instrument.
It feels fast yea
I was there :)
i dont care if the kid didn't 'shred' or whatever. he is a damn good guitarist!
To me most of the so called Shred sounds absolutely terrible just complete incoherent noise
Kid was the best...For Sure
THAT KID HAS THE 'PICK OF DESTINY'!!!
I FUCKING KNEW I SEEN THIS KID B4 ... HE DOES HAVE THE FUCKING PICK
(RIGHT NOW... 16 PPL WISH THEY HAD THE 'PICK OF DESTINY' ..)
He’s basically just mr. “I know a scale and a string”
Which one?
Why they put a limit for how many times u can like a video😭
Go ahead lil nigga, do your thing
I thought the third guy was mike the music snob for a second
Not to disparage/brag, but that first guy sounds like my warmup sessions
:S
Nobody cares
@@saucybaka4439
And the same to you. Have a good day, sir
@@Izzy1782 no, it doesnt work that way. I didnt make a dumb comment about myself to garnish attention on the internet. I'm sure more people would care about my comment than your dumbass comment. So you have a nice life with your lame warmup sessions
That kid was awesome. He kinda reminds me of Cliff Burton when he was a kid
Jared James Nichols in the background.
I started playing at his age and I still suck.😂
Do you focus on your playing, do you have a properly good teacher and do you play in a band?
If you cannot answer yes to at least two, that's why you still suck.
@@AB-80X dude.... learn about sarcasm. Ask your properly good teacher about it
The guy that played first was the best.
No disrespect, I would be shaking like hell if I were to try that and I'm not saying that these guys are bad players, but this competition seems a bit pointless as it mostly results to noise...
Music is not a "competition"
I’d barely call this music. It seems more like a sport. No offense to anyone, just my opinion.
I kinda liked #3 the best, but idk.
Hasn’t the kid been in multiple challenges to win guitars?
1st guy was best imo
This wasn't even worth the time for them to have the Staff kick them out of Guitar Center good.
I would kick a kitten to be able to take Nita Strauss out for a date
Do a search on "Tina S Moonlight Sonata",..
She said little more juice......
awesome job kid! should have shortened the strap tho. he would have killed it even more
I would've busted out the Tornado Of Souls solo. I played it at a contest as a teen in the 90's, but It didn't win. Someone ripped out some Yngwie shit and they won. It wasn't even that clean either, kind of sloppy. But hey, whatever man. Guess they had tin ears that day.
Where was the "shredding"?
It wasnt close the kid got it . But his competition was not very good. Still good job kid kick ass
If that's what u call shedding
The only thing slightly Impressive about that was the way Nita looked. She is beautiful as always. Her looks are a plus but to me her playing is was I think truly makes her beautiful. GETCHA PULL
I missed the shredding.
if dominoes pizza had a sound...this would be it
It’s E pentatonic land
Dime reincarnated
strength in numb333rs
Wow.. i feel useless now lol
Shredders? Hardly aha
#1 very generic, almost as though he could take it or leave it when it comes to playing guitar. #2 was very impressive having the least experience, forearm strength and dexterity, hand size. #3 had the strongest attack with his technique, specifically with his left hand. #4 had the best balance of technique with both hands and was able to manipulate the tone with his picking dynamics and George Lynch style progressions. I feel that #4 was the best overall. #2 having the most handicaps to overcome, did very well for his physical limitations. He will very possibly be a revered player once he finishes growing and fully conquers his size and muscle restraints.
They couldn't get a stand for a featured guitar?....
