    I learned to crochet from a written pattern in a book in the 70’s. I can’t tell you how much easier this would have been! So many times I pulled out rows because it didn’t look like the picture. If I’d had you tube then my craft life would have been so much more fun! Thank you💕🇨🇦

    • @AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel
      @AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel  3 роки тому +1

      my mother always said crochet is 45% pattern and 65% looking at the picture on the booklet way back then loads of patterns were printed with huge mistakes in them. So she always made sure she got ones with a clear picture to look at to see how it works out and how its supposed to look. I remember her ripping stuff out and saying to her friend it's got to be the pattern that's wrong and she was right 99% of the time.

I cannot follow a written pattern,never have been able to,but have made many things using your tutorials.Just finished a scarf using the bunny ears pattern you demonstrated.Came out beautifully.

      No it's no my creation I saw it on another channel In USA terms and I did it in UK terms for beginners. I love fillet crochet and I have quite a few old books on it too and I agree as most of the older crochet was done in thinner yarns 2, 3 and 4ply they were much more delicate.

    My favourite crochet pattern was a C2C, then I loved doing the Call the Midwife. I came across your youtube tutorial the other night and I am now hooked on this one. Clear instructions and it is so easy when you think about it. Maybe it was the accent that helped. I watched another one, but was nowhere as clear as yours. Thank you so much. So I made a 4 ft square then eight 12" squares and added a row of the 12" squares to each end - coming out with a 4' x 6' blanket - that made a very interesting any which way design. You are an excellent teacher , calm, and show exactly where to insert the crochet hook. Well done. I’ll be making one very soon for a grand daughter. Many thanks from Canada.

      @@AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel oh Alison, I just noticed that my posting came through under my husband’s name, Ted. No, he doesn’t crochet, 😂😂 I do, and many thanks from me, Carole

    I am definitely going to try this. I love your projects and your instructions are so clear. My only suggestion is that you raise the volume. I have mine up to max and I do have a hard time hearing your instructions sometimes. Thank you
