I purchased a Kill suit before the season started. Absolutely love it. Had plenty of deer get crazy close and not realize what I was. Temp wise a must for early southern season. And it doubles as a mosquito net as well.
That Kill suit looks great. I just went on their websight and am going to order one. I have been looking at different Ghillie suits and this Kill suit fill my needs. I took your recomendation on using tennis wrap on my bows and love it. No more hands sweating and the bow twisting in my hands. Great videos Mr. Carter!
The Nomad leafy suit is very well made, but, it's so hot. Even for Maine. I use it when it's cold and when warm, I hate to admit, Amazon has a green and a brown leafy suit made by Arcturus. I use the green for the top and the brown pants so sitting down my legs match the dead leaves and I look like a small green bush. My bow is wrapped with Hobby Lobby vines. Gloves and a face cover.
I have kinda the same set up which works great . I use Marine mar pat woodland camo on the bottom greenish on top . I actually had a buck come in on my bad side two years ago I was wear just the Marine camo top and bottom no gillie face panted up . He got with in ten yards and looked right through . He finally smelled a rat and got some gone . Check out the mar pat camo by proper. Great video God bless thanks for sharing.
I enjoy all your videos Mr. Carter! I've been using the snow camouflage version for years hunting Minnesota and North Dakota. I went to the same Kill suit you have a few years ago for the early season with good success. I hand washed, air dried, then put in a Tote with leaves and pine bows. Please keep the videos coming. I shot a buck off the ground at 8 steps last year wearing the killsuit. He walked straight at me and stopped at 5yds and just kind of looked my direction (i had been calling). After a little time he turned and I was able to draw and shoot - what a rush!
Here’s a small tip for anybody who is interested during the off-season take you a black trash bag. Throw your suit in it throw you a couple shovelfuls of dirt and tied up and let it sit there for a month or the off-season and then about a week before you go hunting, take it out and hanging out to get the sand off of it. It’ll never lose scent of nature earth.
Thats a really good tip. I usually wash my camo or ghillie suite in the creek and hang them out to dry. I have had does walk 3 feet from me and not smell me while ground hunting
This is a good tip. If you throw the dirt into a small pillow case you get the same effect without as much mess. Just throw it all in the contractor bag.
I put my clothes (after washing them with no-scent+baking soda) into the very large zip loc bags, then fill a linen laundry bag full of leaves and pine and drop it in the zip loc, seal it up. I leave the clothes in there till I use them and they have the scent of leaves and pine. I might try dirt in the pillow case as well, that's a good idea!
I have that ghillie kill suit. I really love it because it is synthetic. I think the paints are too long. It is also really lightweight and packs really well.
When you say cut sleeve off may you show better I have one and left sleeve on it but cut the fabric off the sleeve and just put an arm guard around it seems to work good but I think removing sleeve would be so much better I just didn’t wanna ruin it
Every year when I go hunting I grab a couple handfuls of forrest floor duff and rub it all over my hunting coats, rain gear, pants and hat. Cover scent if you will.

The cowboys from Texas had a terrible time with it in Cross Timbers area of our state and had to skirt around it on their cattle drives to Kansas. No palmettos nor cow oaks but every other conceivable oak, yellow pine and lots and lots of rocks.
I saw a snake come out of a hole in a tree with a squirrel. It hit the ground with the squirrel and a hawk came down and scooped up the snake. Lucky Squirrel .lol
@@robertcarte95 I ordered one of those suits last week. I hope to ground hunt with my pistol this season in SW Alabama. I think I’ll wear an orange hat when moving and hang it in a bush next to me when I’m in the Waldrop seat. Good luck this season!
I put on a stretchy $8 blaze orange safety vest over the suit and have a bean I put on top my head. Since my profile is already non-human in a ghillie suit, the vest/hat don't add much. And since I'm hunting deer at a longer range when I need the blaze orange, it still works just fine.

@@robertcarte95 rc, the one i use is called the long coat lite. It has about half the "stuff" on it and really isn't very warm. Big picture...use what you like....we all have different needs and those needs change as the season does.
Yeah I heard that years ago to wear different camo patterns on top or bottom if not you still look like a person I'm thinking of trying some ground hunting this year here in Florida the wind even with strong fronts blows all over the place i still try to halfway play the wind but here you never know where they are going to come from
It looks like Cabelas & Bass Pro may have discontinued the long coat. They do have a light ghillie suit though. Where did you get that nice flannel shirt. I’d like to have that to casually walk around in woods until I put on some camo.

I hunt only archery only areas. There are several around me. Some of the larger wmas will open up archery only in late season as well.

I usually wear XL. I bought the long coat and don't use the pants. I'm 5-11.

Yessir. Lacrosse snake boots.
What camera set up do you use when on the ground?
I use a telescoping shooting stick. The v the gun sets in unscrews and the bolt screws in the camera.
