I never thought of doing my first row into my foundation row that way! Its bloody brilliant! Thank you!

I do believe this a "modified seed stitch" And to get the alternating stitches you must have a odd number on your foundation row. At the end you will chain 2 and turn. You should always start with a half and end the row with a treble . That way when you chain up 2 and turn the stitches will be alternating. A stitch marker will help too, but if you remember to always start with a half and end with a treble will also keep your patteren correct .

Thank you Wendy the upside of this is that you get the puffiness without the yarn, eating puff stitch lol I happen to have the red heart fruity in my stash. Also the retro which is more of baby colors either one love this variation of the seed stitch.

I always used red heart yarn, but now I switched to hobby lobby yarn because it is softer. I made a shawl for the organ player at church. She said she was always cold and wanted a shawl. So I had a big skein of red heart ombre left from another project. But as I was stitching it the yarn felt so rough I almost didn't make it. But, I used it and bought another skein to finish the project. Well, she absolutely loved it. She wore it to church Tuesday and she was glowing. She loved it. But, I will not use red heart anymore because of the stiffness of the yarn. It was very hard to crochet with. Have a Wonderful & Blessed Day!

I have found that washing, and rinsing with a good fabric softener helps a lot.
I was surprised at how rough the Ombré yarns felt... I bought a couple of skeins, but have not used them as yet.
The Stripes soften up quite a bit...and the colors do stay bright...

I actually have this gorgeous yarn in my stash! This is ...I think...a variation of the Suzette stitch, which I love. I will definitely give it a try. I don’t have an L hook, but I thunk my K will work.. it produces a pretty big stitch, and I use it for most of my blankets....except for the preemie/ baby ones, of course.
I have found that washing, and rinsing with a good fabric softener really softens any yarn yo quite a bit.

Wow that is beautiful! This video was in my suggestions & the colors caught my eye. I'm so glad I clicked on it. That's a nice stitch. I think I will try it sometime. I've been crocheting since I was a child when my Grandmother taught me. I'm always looking for new interesting & easy crochet stitches. I look forward to more of your videos. I am now a subscriber. Have a great day!

Thank you so much!! My mom taught me the basics when I was about 10 and I picked up more from books in my 30's. Now I watch UA-cam tutorials often and learn something new nearly every day. My channel is not quite a month old and this video has gotten the most views; I assumed it was the colorful thumbnail that caught everyone's eye. Thanks for confirming it for me. :) I'm working on my filming so that I can show you the crochet from my angle to make it easier to see what I am doing. Check out Oana's Crochet Channel on UA-cam. She's not for entry level and some of her stuff is over my head yet, but she makes beautiful things and is inspiring me to try garments.

I think you are doing great! Keep it up! Yes I love watching Mikey from the Crochet Crowd. He taught me a few different stitches & he really knows how to explain things.
I will check out Oana. Thank you!

Not enough explanation. Is the first row like all of them? At the end of a row do you chain 1? 2? etc etc
