Exciting NEW Series - "Yarn Swatches" Episode #1 Red Heart Super Saver Ombres / Varigated yarns

- I will be starting a brand New series Called "Yarn Swatches" where I will pick a certain brand of yarn and buy several different color ways in that specific line and show you how the different colors work up when crocheted into swatches. I think this will be a very helpful series, if you want a more detailed look at the yarn worked up. I am looking forward to bringing you many different yarn swatches from many different brands in the future.
This first episode I made a trip to Walmart and purchased Red Heart Super Saver in a variety of different Ombres and Varigated colors.
All the yarns in this video should be available at your local walmart.

This series is a great idea. Sometimes you just don’t know what a yarn will look like worked up.
It was very different seeing the yarn worked. Sometimes they kinda look completely different. This is going to be a great series.

I absolutely loved this! Your videos are always a blessing to me, as I am sure I am not the only person who feels this way. You are such an inspiration to me Thank you so much. I lost my the love of my life, my best friend, my soulmate. Back in 2014, then I came to live with my parents at their request to help care for them, now dad is gone and I am caring for my mom. So I decided I needed to close another chapter in my life, and what better way to start a new one than with a Beautiful Grandma's Garden Afghan. As my first project, I am on square 2 of 20, so I am sure that God led me to your channel. Thank you many Blessings to you, Keep well and be safe.

I love using variegated yarns . I usually do a double stitch and showing single stitch is so different . I never thought to try the pooling yarns . I think the yarn swatch series is a great way to see new yarns . Love and Hugs .

This is a great idea. Rarely UA-camrs create swatches and then it is to talk about how the yarn feels like to work with, so the swatch is usually too small to see the effect if they use variegated or ombre at all. Some websites or yarn bands may show a thumbnail of what the yarn looks like knitted, but as we all know, it's often quite different when crocheted: I guess the army of knitters is so much bigger because yarn companies keep ignoring us when they design colorways.
I agree with Red Heart's durability! Afghans from the 70s-90s still holding up well!! I find it often depends on color or batch, sometimes you get some that is more rough, but nothing that washing and use won't soften out 🧶🧶
Jean Austin I am new to watching crochet programing on any internet program. I have not seen many programs and now I'm trying to catch up ...hahaha, by saving every program that I watch, which is a total of two, you and Crystal of "Bag-O-Day". I find that I learn so much from the two of you that I can't watch them as much as you both have of teaching video's. I appreciate both of you very much. I find that by listening and watching you both I can absorb more information. Thank you. P.S. I hope that you continue to heal from you surgery and will continue to pray for you and your family.

I really llike seeing a sample of the ombres. It gives me an idea of what colors to match with the yarn.

Both of those colors work as great contrast colors to be used with solid colors. They’re also great fun for kids projects (sweaters, toys, etc.)

I am Loving the "Swatch Series" & what a great idea Glenda 😊💝! I really enjoyed seeing Your Beautiful Swatches & what a difference it makes in the patterns just by changing your Stitches!!! So many of us that Absolutely Love to Crochet are Retired or Disabled living on tight budget's & then it is so disappointing to buy a Yarn that isn't very pretty. I know because I've done it so many times, lol 🙈😂! I finally just stopped buying any of the self striping but I absolutely love the ones that changes colors quickly 💝💛💜💚💙! This is really going to help me know exactly what I'm getting now that I've seen Your's & You gave us the Colors so Thank you so very, very much Glenda 😊💝!!!

Wow!!! Glenda you did it again. I love the way you produced this I like this new series please keep doing them, seeing it in different stitches that helps a lot. I'm not able to go to the store I have to order online so this is great way you know what you're working with. Glenda thank you so much you may not know it but you helped so many of us this is why I keep coming back so well and you show us new things all the time it's not boring it is exciting
This video us sooo helpful!!!!!! Its amazing how you just love the colors in an ombre yarn then you see it worked up and its not so appealing anymore, I guess you have to work up different stitches to see what looks best for your individual tastes. Thanks again Glenda for all you do. 🤗 🧶 🌺

Hi Glenda, nice video this morning. I’m so happy you’re almost done with Ice Cream blanket, really looking forward to the tutorial 😀👏👏👏. I have a box of yarn waiting to make that blanket. I really like the sample swatches you did to show how different stitches produce different results. I use that pooling yarn to make colorful stripes with hats (solid color/variegated and variegated Pom Pom) I absolutely agree with you on Red Heart is a good yarn, durable and will hold its shape and color forever- and I also use fabric softener. 👍🏻 thanks so much for your wonderful videos, I look forward to them every day. ❣️
