Not alot of people do this, open the trunk on the humvee, jump up, go prone into the trunk and close the trunk as your going prone and then your prone inside of the humvee waiting for somebody to open up the doors

The windshield and front 2 doors glass is bulletproof, the metal of all attachables (doors hoods etc) reduces bullet damage but is still penetrated, the glass of the back doors is completely penetrated, along with the rest of the vehicle. The tires are slightly more bullet resistant than usual tires.

@@eugenek8634 had the same issue. Lost a humvee because of this. Epoxy didn't work and neither did a torch. Could repair the engine but over time the chassis ruined and rendered the car useless.
@@IrisOsiris I've found what was my problem - chasis displays only the whole car state, not even chasis. So if you engine is red then all your car will be red, because engine is the heart of a car. If your engine is ruined then your will be despowned after server restart.
@@Nitno as long as it's more durable than cars I'd say it's still worth it, sometimes my game crashes while driving and when I log back in the car is ruined

But don't just assume things about me, you don't know what I manage in this game lol vehicles are my least favorite aspect anyway. I never keep them if I do get them. Great map, but this video is covering official maps, that was it is relative to both pc and console. A good idea would be to ask on the deer isle discord though, they are very helpful.

@@Nitno haha thanks man it was one of them moments in dayz were it happens once a year or so I couldn’t believe it when I saw the Humvee and ahh maybe it was the engine I completely sprayed at the car to be fair but I ended leaving it there :(

I went to all the spawn locations in 48 hrs. Only find 3 types of wrecks. All the wrecks don’t have parts to pull off. Also, no glow plugs.

Is it armored at all?
The front windows are bullet proof. It is armored but bullets can still damage you and penetrate the inside.

Does the humvee provide any protection from bullets?
It does, it is tanky, but not bulletproof. (edit: glass is bulletproof)
The glass is bullet proof, but not the vehicle itself

they spawn in normal locations
The camo only spawn in chernarus (tier 3 , 4) and the black and green version only spawn in the bunker (tier "underground")
The Black and Green are in the bunker, Camo spawn in military zones further in.
My vanilla server has them spawning! All colors and green guns! And some other stuff from livonia lol

Its technically a diesel engine so it has to have a glow plug, spark plugs don’t work in diesel engines.

I looked into this, I found a post on the DayZ forums that currently you cannot remove the hood, but they plan to fix this "soon."

The truck holds misc barrels and planks etc etc and 500 spaces in the trunk. What does the humvee have? I've never seen one...
I believe the Humvee simply has 300 slots of inventory space. No other attachments at the moment.

So sadly you cannot lock it closed in Offical at least. By locking it, you are basically making it some someone can't take the actual door off.

No, there are many "wrecked vehicles" that are simply for parts. BUT any car / Humvee that has an inventory will be fixable and driveable.

In the files, it's simply labeled "Industrial" so check all the shelves/sheds ect in industrial areas.
