I just came across one of these saws that leaked on it’s side. After cleaning it of sawdust and oil, O opened it up and the return line was through the saw housing and stopped. I’ve been looking a diagrams trying to find where it connects to the tank and your video popped up. Thanks. It was driving me nuts
My saw annoyingly has the nipple for the primer/purge bulb but is not equipped with a primer or purge bulb. I stuffed a poulan duckbill check valve on that spot and called it a day, even though I should probably just put a length of fuel line on it perhaps.
Question I have is I have fuel coming out the nipple next to return nipple. Where does the hose from there go or is there supposed to be fuel coming from there? Thank you for the video it’s helped a lot. I now need to replace the main fuel line and filter annnnd primer bulb
your taking a chance of breaking the nippel off if you use a zip tie. that hose shrinks over time. it's a easy fix to just replace the return line. I took the saw apart more than i had to. it's easier to show on video of what and how to do it.
Mine is leaking from that hole between the 2 hoses. Your screwdriver is right on top of it at 0:39 in the video. I replaced the return line, and now my saw leaks gas from that hole when I press the primer. Any ideas on that? Is there supposed to be plug covering it up?
I have a model 340 with this leak when on it's side for refuelling.. There is only one hose and there is no nipple, just a hole next to where the main fuel hose comes out of the tank. Should it have the return line and nipple or is the 340 different?
If it has a line on the primer ball for a return then it needs to be hooked up. Sounds to me if there is a hole beside the main gas line the nipple has been broke off. I would contact Husqvarna and verify with them as well. 👍
Thanks. I have now found a parts list for the 340 and it looks like the missing parts are a filter plug and valve plug. It is probably some kind of tank breather that seals when the machine is on it's side.
That's what I thought thanks. Thing that gets me I got cheap saw that always runs and I abuse it still it's ran for 9 years. 500$ husky two years already having problem s

Exactly what my problem was. Easy fix... back to cutting!!
Thanks for the tip. I thought it was the tank vent but I checked this and found the leak.
Just wanted to thank you for this video, quickly fixed my fuel leak!
ckhanna71 No problem.
No problem at all. 👍
why dont you show how to fix it quit saying its an easy fix and show us thats what the video is for right??

Its been a little while. But i think they both go to the carb on these. Thee small vent nippel is the one that is easy to break.
Any insight here? Replaced my fuel line, but there is an open nipple to the right. I believe that is from where my leak is located. Thanks.
The nipple is probably broken. Or cracked.
Thanks. Big help. Appreciate it.
Thank you for the help!

How do you remove the air filter on top ? Cannot get to the lines without removing it .
Im going to check my saw right now, mine leaks the same way, i wonder if its the same problem.
It’s a very common problem with these saws.

It looks like something should go in that hole you are talking about, did you find what goes in that hole?
thats where mine appears to me leaking a well. Replaced the line and that is where its leaking.
Mine is leaking there also, anyone know what that is?
Add me to the list too please! My saw appears to have 3 nipples…

of course I know you would need too replace it if needed
Repeats and repeats the same thing . Never shows how to
It’s not a how to video. Have to have a certain level of mechanic ability. Very very simple fix.
Haha didn’t fix anything just said it’s easy
