In the states you really can't camp in a 10 year old camper. The parks are very selective about who can camp. Wish someone would sue some of them for discrimination...
"It's not that creative or that innovative, but it sure is tasty!" Should be your cooking slogan. Right up there with Red Green's "If they don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy."
The first whole section of dialog when he was explaining his equipment choices and explaining setup struck me as something that could have been pulled right out of an episode of the Red Green show. Keep your stick on the ice.
A few thoughts: -Didn’t realize campgrounds had become so elitist. -Really appreciate your sensitivity in regard to folks with less means who enjoy camping, but might not have a credit card. -Laughed so damn hard when you pulled out the shower curtain...but it worked! -I've never seen anything like "it" either:) -One of the most creative videos yet!
I absolutely LOVE the fact that the first suggestion for "Camping with..." is Steve. Another great video. "Honey where's half of our house?" "Oh I took our home outside to make an outdoor place to camp, you see."
Watching all the so called experts in outdoor activities with the sponsors and expert gear just makes me love Camping with Steve even more. By far the most entertaining channel I have found.
the shower curtain liner & beach lounge chair were hilarious. the people next to you with the tent camper probably couldnt believe their eyes. i had a tent camper for 17 years, then bought a Little Guy teardrop camper. the tent campers do take some time to set up; cranking it up, which does take a bit of muscle, pulling out the beds, swinging down the stabilizer jacks, pulling up the galley, opening up the dinette table & benches. then doing it all in reverse when it's time to pack up. with my Little Guy, i back it in & i'm done. I also have a free-standing canopy which i set up right against the Little Guy. it protects from rain, provides shade & can also provide total privacy if i want to clip on the nylon sidewalls. enjoyed your video. hope you never run out of ideas for crazy camping.
Steve, I am going through some real hardships right now in life. I have been feeling like a total failure (I did it to myself). I’m trying to stay positive and focus on getting my life back on track but it can be hard and lonely at times. I put your videos on whenever I get the chance; I don’t know why but your videos and your presence somehow helps me calm myself. Im from New York City, so camping is something I’ve never done, and how I’m so interested in your videos is quite amazing really. I think you have a genuineness that is so rare these days. Anyway, thank you. Please keep the content coming, you’re helping a broken soul heal. Respect, and best wishes to you and your family.
Just got back from a 2 nighter sleeping in my SUV after driving FAR into the bush. Wow, a comfy bed and some beers at night I went into another dimension of peace and happiness. I urge everyone to do it even if just for one night. Set your car, truck or SUV up and head into the woods for a night, bring the dog or cat, make your morning coffee on the butane stove or camp fire (best coffee EVER!). Get out there before its too cold and layer up. Its also a lot more work and energy than you'd think so bring some energy bars or snacks to keep you going. I don't know how Steve finds the patience after a bunch of step 2's to makes those elaborate meals lol.
Thanks for posting these vids. They are so much of a motivator for me and my family to get out and enjoy nature. My daughter Sam would say you are a true outdoorsman!! She's 8yrs old.. Take care
The fabric on a tent trailer is more durable and thicker than your standard tent fabric. Have been through many storms when I was a kids with my parents. They are nice also as take up little room in a garage and can see behind them when towing. I am a tent camper but have great memories and times in a tent trailer. More versatile than you might think
I lol’d at the comforter and your comment on hoping your spouse enjoys the rich smoky smell of campfire. As soon as I get home from camping my husband opens all my truck windows to air it out. I have to air out my sleeping bag so the “rich smoky scent of a campfire” doesn’t get to him. He’s a city boy. Lol

Ok, so I absolutely love this! Welfare camping! And before anyone gets offended, I am a RECIPIENT myself, so no shade whatsoever! I appreciate what Steve said about needing to have a credit card in order to camp...I would also be one of those people that would be left out of the camping option. You would think that public land meant for the PUBLIC...what a shame that so many will not be able to enjoy that beautiful park. But this video was awesome because now I know that I don't have to buy a whole lot of camping gear with money I don't have besides!

1. what a unique way to camp. You always seem to come up with something different each week. 2. Tent trailers are cheaper than regular trailers, and they are easier to put them where you want them. 3. That was a fun adventure. Hunker down! 👍
"tent trailers are cheaper than regular trailers, and they are easier to put them where you want them." Indeed. But if cheap and easy to place where you want is the selling feature, why not just go with a tent? What does a tent-trailer offer that a regular tent doesn't?
@@jayjayhooksch1 the ability to hold most of the stuff you need packed in it, which matters if you are driving a smaller vehicle which happens to be filled with people
Watching this a second or third time months later. That tent, then the pop-up RVers moving into the next spot, gets me every time. Man, I'm feeling lifted and I needed that. Thanks, Steve!
When my brothers and I were kids we used to do spontaneous camping trips where we only took a half hour to pack for the adventure. It was invariably an adventure because we would forget things like water, fire maker, food shelter etc. It really made you appreciate what it takes to be comfortable.

We had to evacuate and now, the campsite and the fond memories there camping there since I was kid has been burned down to the ground. Watching your videos always makes my day better.

It always amazes me that people can take so long to set up a tent trailer. My sister has one and it takes 15 minutes for the main part and another 15 minutes to set up the annex. She loves it as it is so quick and easy and everything is inside once set up. I love your setup and even that is more luxurious than some of the camps I have had where we only slept on a hessian sack in our sleeping bags back as kids.
I'm one of those campers who would probably be considered a gear hoarder and maybe camping elitist even. Thanks Steve, for reminding me that the outdoors is for everyone and to get back to the basics. I've helped bring camping into a few of my friends' lives and I try my best to get them outside, regardless of gear.
Oh, Steve - it's been a rough week for me, and you made me smile! They don't like weird camping stuff? What, no fans in the National Park Service? I agree about tent trailers, I sleep in my van on a nice thick pad - but I'm old! Watching you get into that lounger made me laugh too!

Hey Steve, my beautiful wife and I love our tent trailer. The two of us together working as a team can set up in under 20 minutes. I know because I time us every time we do a set up... And backing it into a site can work very well when you work as a team. With some maintenance we've never had any issues. Never a leek in heavy rainfall. A those time kinda cozy.... We put on a nice brew of coffee and listen to the raindrops. And plenty of room to store store fire wood and the very necessary golf clubs for both of us. To each their own I guess. Looking forward to some late fall camping with a newly purchased heater. Have to say the Thermacells I purchased on your recommendation have brought a whole new level of comfort.

I LOVED this. Nice work Steve.
In our world of constant worry concerning fitting in combined with people's obsession with the material side of traveling and camping this is gold.
I feel like the consistent theme of Steve's channel is to get out there and have experiences and fun without worrying about having all of the latest gear. And this episode brings it to the extreme. It's great.
NEVER retire that cardigan!!!!
OHPAmoto That cardigan is second only to the Dude’s in the Big Lebowski.
Yeah, I was thinking the same. The sweater is LEGENDARY.
It ties the videos together...

honestly f*** the campgrounds for turning up their nose at people who can’t afford swanky state of the art RVs. A campground you should be able to pitch a tent no questions asked. Nice one Steve
@Vitro
Exactly!! R v' ing isn't camping, it's glamping! Those folks are going to be lost when shtf happens and they don't know how to sleep on the ground in a tent. Jmo
Never heard of that in Australia lol. We do have designated RV grounds but normal campgrounds, RVs can use it too

In the states you really can't camp in a 10 year old camper. The parks are very selective about who can camp. Wish someone would sue some of them for discrimination...
My parents toured all over Scotland with their small tent trailer- they absolutely loved it.

The comment section on Steve's videos are the funniest thing on UA-cam
they really are. reading the comments is half the fun of a Steve video.
"It's not that creative or that innovative, but it sure is tasty!" Should be your cooking slogan.
Right up there with Red Green's "If they don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy."
oh! nice call back to Red Green show ..the best
Love Uncle Red...
Red Green, now that's a classic.
The first whole section of dialog when he was explaining his equipment choices and explaining setup struck me as something that could have been pulled right out of an episode of the Red Green show. Keep your stick on the ice.

A few thoughts:
-Didn’t realize campgrounds had become so elitist.
-Really appreciate your sensitivity in regard to folks with less means who enjoy camping, but might not have a credit card.
-Laughed so damn hard when you pulled out the shower curtain...but it worked!
-I've never seen anything like "it" either:)

“Because this isn’t exactly a watertight structure” made me laugh!!!!! Thanks for confirming :)
the shower curtain liner & beach lounge chair were hilarious. the people next to you with the tent camper probably couldnt believe their eyes. i had a tent camper for 17 years, then bought a Little Guy teardrop camper. the tent campers do take some time to set up; cranking it up, which does take a bit of muscle, pulling out the beds, swinging down the stabilizer jacks, pulling up the galley, opening up the dinette table & benches. then doing it all in reverse when it's time to pack up. with my Little Guy, i back it in & i'm done.

We have everything we need already, because we’re camping with Steve.
True story. Wish we had fall weather here in FL. Was 107 after humidity here today
Random family pulls into empty campground...."Hey honey, what about that spot next to the guy with a shower curtain tent and lounger, drinking a beer?". 😕
Maybe they wanted to rob you Steve while you slept, may have needed a shower curtain to fix one of their windows from a previous bear attack?
1. what a unique way to camp. You always seem to come up with something different each week. 2. Tent trailers are cheaper than regular trailers, and they are easier to put them where you want them. 3. That was a fun adventure. Hunker down! 👍
"tent trailers are cheaper than regular trailers, and they are easier to put them where you want them."
Indeed.

When my brothers and I were kids we used to do spontaneous camping trips where we only took a half hour to pack for the adventure. It was invariably an adventure because we would forget things like water, fire maker, food shelter etc. It really made you appreciate what it takes to be comfortable.

Steve, you're absolutely hilarious and just so weird sometimes. It's just great. Love your videos. I'm hooked.
