Ole Mae is quite a horse! Always enjoy watching the two of you out in the pasture, ridin' n' shootin'!👍
My horse I rode in the mounted unit of the police department, was a fantastic buckskin gelding. Absolutely fearless. We'd train with blanks, and also live rounds later. That horse got me into, and out of several scrapes. He never let me down. When transfered to work in the auto theft unit, Dusty, my old partner, was soon returned to the ranch that donated him to the PD. This was the policy with a more mature horse.
A couple of weeks later, the rancher pulled up at my place, with Dusty in the trailer. As he was unloading Dusty from the trailer, Dusty spotted me and nearly dislocated the rancher's shoulder trying to get to me. The old gentleman told me that Dusty and me were partners for over ten years, and it wasn't right to break up the two of us. He handed me the lead, and a bill of sale, so no one could question what he did.
Dusty stayed with me until he died from old age. He's buried on a little hill at my place out in the woods of East Texas. I visit him often. And when I kick the bucket, I'm going to be buried right next to him. Ya just don't abandon your partner.

The bond between man and horse is one of the strongest bonds on this earth. It makes my heart happy that you were able to keep Dusty until his time came. “There is something about the outside of a horse that is good for the inside of a man.”

Percussion revolvers are still the most fun to shoot and develop loads for .

Hey there Snapper! I'm not going to lie to you, it's really fun. Mae tends to get a little cranky at times ( even when were are just out trail riding or checking cows). My late gelding was the best, it's too bad I retired Doc before I started Y.T. He was so laid back. I would let anyone ride him, Mae....not so much.... LOL.
