Food for thought Tom. Actual best way to make fire is to make small narrow trench on each side of fire very low so that wind will blow in from either side. This added air helps to atomize the carbons to produce CLEAN BURN OF FIRE which in turn has less orange smoke and opacity and less (SMOKE). To me a happy fire is an almost smokeless fire where the smoke does not get into the sensitive eyes. Takes practice. If you blow down on a fire it produces smoke. Getting air to bottom of fire in small trench reduces smoke. (Reduction of Smoke Opacity). I love your tent, cooking, your wonderful personality, your spirited interesting ideas and surprises while cooking. loved the adjustable chain method and will not forget this. Loved your tent, bed and the way you set up the lighting in which to film this great video. You are wonderful man with dreams and fun and desires in your eyes.

Your breakfast close to the fire reminded me of cold morning in the Bridger Wilderness of Wyoming, USA. We were camped at about 9000 feet in elevation in late July and the morning had frost every day. Mornings were so crisp with bright skies and no breeze. Breakfast was so good in the woods. Thanks for reminding me of a very good time, and thanks for the great video.

The reindeer hide looked wonderful, I use a sheepskin myself and it is wonderful as an insulator. Allowing it to rest over a smokey fire helps keep it water repellent. The tent looks great and the camp is coming along, take your time doing things so you always have something to do. Winter evening can be very long without an interesting job or hobby. Cheers

Tom you need to make a small table , to replace your stump in the other woods . And yes a flat chair to lean back that sits on the ground so you don't sit so high in the tent, great video thank you again . Loved the tube you made to blow in the fire too

I now have a little camping backrest which allows me something to sit on the ground and lean my back against. Necessary for those of us older than the young 'gadabouts'... I think you would enjoy it when sitting throughout the early winter nights in your laavu. It fits into backpacks too! I Also really like how you set the chains on your fire crosspole. Excellent idea.

Some nice equipment Tom, l have a lantern on order in Brass colour, that’s a large reindeer skin didn’t think they were that size, the haversack arrived very quickly from Denmark it’s a little small but will mainly be for just days in the forest so will make me take less, I am either lucky or lazy I walk to the place I Bushcraft or there’s one a few miles away, nice wind break for your fireside pit , l have a chain and hook but haven’t used it as yet. I make my char cloth and charred punk wood in my wood burner at home it’s a very quick way hope it’s not cheating just find it more convenient Have a good weekend .

@@cimbrerbushcraft-vikingheritag Yes, my parents came to Canada in the 1950's and settled in a small town in the Rockies where I was born. Now, I live on the west coast in a city called Victoria. I still have many family around the Vorbasse area and visit every few years for a month or so. I really love the time I spend in Denmark so it is very nice to watch your videos - they give me a little trip to Denmark every time. :)

Tom you need to make a small table , to replace your stump in the other woods . And yes a flat chair to lean back that sits on the ground so you don't sit so high in the tent, great video thank you again . Loved the tube you made to blow in the fire too

I now have a little camping backrest which allows me something to sit on the ground and lean my back against. Necessary for those of us older than the young 'gadabouts'... I think you would enjoy it when sitting throughout the early winter nights in your laavu. It fits into backpacks too! I Also really like how you set the chains on your fire crosspole. Excellent idea.

A nice inexpensive tool for the camp fire is a tin coal shovel. It’s real handy for moving hot coals to the top of your Dutch oven

Some nice equipment Tom, l have a lantern on order in Brass colour, that’s a large reindeer skin didn’t think they were that size, the haversack arrived very quickly from Denmark it’s a little small but will mainly be for just days in the forest so will make me take less, I am either lucky or lazy I walk to the place I Bushcraft or there’s one a few miles away, nice wind break for your fireside pit , l have a chain and hook but haven’t used it as yet. I make my char cloth and charred punk wood in my wood burner at home it’s a very quick way hope it’s not cheating just find it more convenient

I still have many family around the Vorbasse area and visit every few years for a month or so. I really love the time I spend in Denmark so it is very nice to watch your videos - they give me a little trip to Denmark every time. :)
