Good quality tarp, I once sewed a whole tent with canvas and cotton material and it didn't do the job as moisture and mold would waste it. we have to look into high teck fire resistant strong as Kevlar and water repellent materials like the straps they make car seat belts or construction gears and alpine outfits with. Same with canoes and boat gears. you want them unbreakable, you hit a rock you bounce and the canoe didn't feel a thing✨🐱🐉

n m 101 I would rather rely on leather than anything when I am riding. Although, I do have a Joe Ballistic jacket that offers a lot of protection but it weighs a ton.
It is a "Church Warden" , if you like long stem pipes try a " Canadian " style pipe......good smoking ! I enjoy Danish freehands and corn cobs........Bob

Hi Tom, I realise this video is a couple of years old now, but I'm tempted by the idea of a canvas tarp. Any thoughts you'd care to share after two years of use? I'd be looking at the 3x3 metre. I like the carrying bag. It looks like a good setup for overnighters by canoe. Best wishes Al
Hi Al 😊 it’s a great tarp and I like it very much … very durable and therefore also heavy 💪🏻😉 so it’s not for long hikes … but again … old school gear weighs more and I don’t want it in any other way 😉🏕🔥🌲 Tom
Something you might want to think about for sleeping is the Jon Pack Bed Sleeve. Very simple to use and keeps you off of the ground. You can find it here...www.selfrelianceoutfitters.com/collections/hammocks/products/jon-pack-bed-sleeve
Great video Tom, I haven’t smoked a pipe for over forty years.... but I can feel myself getting close to starting again....watching you smoke yours reminds me what a nice comfort , and meditative experience pipe smoking can be.....there is so many tobacco brands, do you have any recommendations, and is the long stemmed pipe a cooler smoke ??
Ha ha that’s great David 😉👍🏻 I love smoking my pipe when I’m out on my hikes 🌲 and can easily understand why you are tempted to do that again 😇😌 I smoke Red Orlik Golden Sliced tobacco … and Captain Black … when I get some from my kind subscribers in the states 😄 and the long pipe is so great to smoke on … nice cool smoke Appreciate your feedback and questions very much my friend and hope to see you again on my next adventure 🏕🔥🌲🇩🇰 Tom
I like that tarp brother. I have a uco candle lantern packed away in a box some where, and I need to find it. The video I watched earler this evening you had a 3x4 mtr. tarp, I think, is this one smaller? I'm enjoying my 2nd Yuengling this evening, that's American beer my friend, probably from a German family? I enjoyed watching brother. Thanks Tennessee
This is my first comment , my English is bad, but i hope you understand it. I´m from Germany and i told you, Paulaner is not that what you hink about German Beer. My rucksack with wool blanket … sleeping bag and tarp + etc 🤔 approx 18-20 kg The tarp alone weighs 4,8 kg Thanks for your feedback and question 👍🏻😉 Atb my friend
You can do that with a 3x3 😉👍🏻 but the 3x4 is perfect because it gives you more space inside the tarp 🏕😊👌🏻 Thanks for your feedback and your question 😄👍🏻 🔥 Tom
Cimbrer Bushcraft You are such a Kind man..no surprise. That is just one more reason I watch you..I can feel your Kind and Considerate Presence even from a video!
Because it’s a heavy duty canvas tarp and it’s coated with fire resistant liquid it’s not a problem 👍🏻😁. And it’s only a contained fire in a stove 🔥🏕 Thanks for your feedback and important question 😉🌲🦌🇩🇰 Tom
Hey Tom. Fed tur.
🤔 Men min anbefaling må blive Solo Stove 👌🏻😊🔥🌤🌲🌳🥓
Hello good as this, I write from Spain, and I've been following you for a while now, and I love what I see. First of all a big hug for your dog and I really feel his loss. I have a lot of questions that are little by little if it is going well, the first from where the videos are recorded? and you can fire in the field freely ?. First of all, thank you very much, fellow, a big hug and sorry for my English, what's up with a Google translator, jajjajaajajj?

Really tempted to buy a canvas tarp? and as I have yet to buy one because I really wanted a dd pro tarp but they are out of stock every where. Why did you go for a 3 by 4 and not a 3 by 3 just need some good advice many thanks and kind regards.
Thanks Adam for your feedback and question 👍🏻😁 The reason why I got the 3x4 is because Outhaus didn’t have the 3x3 … but as soon they got them on stock I’ll get one and make a video about that type of setups it can do. My first priority is/was the 3x3 … but I must say that the 3x4 gives me some awesome possibilities for cool setups 👌🏻😉 … the tarp-tipi setup is perfect with the 3x4 tarp 🌲 Hope my answer can help you in deciding which one you want to buy 😊👌🏻🌤🔥🌲 Atb to you my friend
Yes 👍🏻 😄 off course … I’ve made a video about tarp setup … including that one 🏕👌🏻😉 Go to my series Bushcraft from A to Z … under T … and you’ll find it there 😁🌲🦌🌤 Thanks for your feedback 🔥
@@cimbrerbushcraft-vikingheritag thats great. its the 'forester' tarp setup is that correct? Final question, in your 'T' tarp video, you do it with a 3 x 3 I think? in this video you have a 3 x 4. How do you set it up with a 3 x 4? because on the diagonal the sides will be different lengths?
Actually the setup is better with a 3x4 m tarp because it will provide you more room in the front 😁👍🏻. Just fold the back of the tarp more in under the setup 👌🏻. The best and most important thing about that tarp setup is that it “close” the front ( entrance) so you have more protection for rain and wind 💨 💪🏻🌤🔥🏕 Hope you can figure it out 🤔 It not the easiest setup … but when you go ahead … it’ll come to you 😉. Warm weather in the fall we call, Indian summer.
Yeah we use the same words for that 👍🏻😉. Thanks for your feedback and for joining me on my overnighter 🏕🔥🌲 Tom

@@cimbrerbushcraft-vikingheritag Thanks man, ATB for the New Year!
Canvas you can not beat it , modern materials might be lighter , but really cant compete , motorbike clothing have looked for an alternative to leather for years , still not found it
Absolutely agree with you 😎
Old school is often the best choice 👍🏻😉🔥🌲🌤 Atb
Thanks Tom , look at wool nothing works as well wet , 70% heat value
n m 101 I would rather rely on leather than anything when I am riding. Although, I do have a Joe Ballistic jacket that offers a lot of protection but it weighs a ton.

I’ll try to find one of those Canadian style pipes 👌🏻😊🌤

Yeah that’s right 🌤🔥🥩👌🏻
keep going bro, im also into this stuff, but more into the cooking part, me and my friend go out every weekend and cook something exotic, we are planning to go youtube aswell, start small and maybe evolve, you have inspired me allot :)
Thank you so much for your feedback. One of the best things I can hear from my viewers is when they say I have inspired them 😊👌🏻
It sounds cool if you want to start a UA-cam channel about cooking outside in the nature 🌲🔥 Please let me know when you are ready to launch your idea 👍🏻😁🥩🔥
Have a wonderful new year 🥂
The tarp looks excellent gear Tom. You could try whiskey in the oatmeal next time ;-)

Thanks for your info 👍🏻😁 didn’t know that brother 🏕🔥

Hi Tom, I realise this video is a couple of years old now, but I'm tempted by the idea of a canvas tarp. Any thoughts you'd care to share after two years of use? I'd be looking at the 3x3 metre. I like the carrying bag. It looks like a good setup for overnighters by canoe.
Best wishes
Al
Hi Al 😊 it’s a great tarp and I like it very much … very durable and therefore also heavy 💪🏻😉 so it’s not for long hikes … but again … old school gear weighs more and I don’t want it in any other way 😉🏕🔥🌲 Tom
Something you might want to think about for sleeping is the Jon Pack Bed Sleeve. Very simple to use and keeps you off of the ground. You can find it here...www.selfrelianceoutfitters.com/collections/hammocks/products/jon-pack-bed-sleeve
Looking great 👍🏻 😁 Thanks for your suggestion 🌲🔥🌤
Great video Tom, I haven’t smoked a pipe for over forty years.... but I can feel myself getting close to starting again....watching you smoke yours reminds me what a nice comfort , and meditative experience pipe smoking can be.....there is so many tobacco brands, do you have any recommendations, and is the long stemmed pipe a cooler smoke ??
Ha ha that’s great David 😉👍🏻
I love smoking my pipe when I’m out on my hikes 🌲 and can easily understand why you are tempted to do that again 😇😌
I smoke Red Orlik Golden Sliced tobacco … and Captain Black … when I get some from my kind subscribers in the states 😄 and the long pipe is so great to smoke on … nice cool smoke
Appreciate your feedback and questions very much my friend and hope to see you again on my next adventure 🏕🔥🌲🇩🇰

Thanks Jeff for your feedback
This is my first comment , my English is bad, but i hope you understand it. I´m from Germany and i told you, Paulaner is not that what you hink about German Beer. can you do that with 3x3 or is 3x4 better
You can do that with a 3x3 😉👍🏻 but the 3x4 is perfect because it gives you more space inside the tarp 🏕😊👌🏻
Thanks for your feedback and your question 😄👍🏻 🔥 Tom
What size is that Tarp Brother? I want that exact model..

What do you think of setting up a fire in front of that tarp, could it hurt the fabric at all?
Because it’s a heavy duty canvas tarp and it’s coated with fire resistant liquid it’s not a problem 👍🏻😁. And it’s only a contained fire in a stove 🔥🏕
Thanks for your feedback and important question 😉🌲🦌🇩🇰
Tom
Cimbrer Bushcraft Cool, I didn’t know it was fire resistant. I’ve been looking for one I could set up near a fire.
Hey Tom.
Fed tur.
🤔 Men min anbefaling må blive Solo Stove 👌🏻😊🔥🌤🌲🌳🥓
Jeg takker for hurtigt svar. 🙂👍
Hi Alvaro 👍🏻 … your English is great 👌🏻 I was in a bit forest called Rold forest … and when I use the bushbox … it ok to make a fire 🔥👍🏻 Atb to you
Are you a teacher then? History? 😄 also do you have no predators in that area? Very nice little trip.
I’m a kind of teacher … working with children that are having a diagnosis ADHD ASF or social problems. Love my work 🤗 👌🏻
No we don’t have any dangerous animals here in Denmark 🇩🇰 … only a snake 🐍 that is a bit poisonous 🏕🔥🌲

@@cimbrerbushcraft-vikingheritag Aha! I can very much see that and thank you for that work as well as my son has mild adhd. I hope you are able to share your knowledge with them as well. Your work has certainly enchanted me.
Really tempted to buy a canvas tarp? and as I have yet to buy one because I really wanted a dd pro tarp but they are out of stock every where. Why did you go for a 3 by 4 and not a 3 by 3 just need some good advice many thanks and kind regards.
Thanks Adam for your feedback and question 👍🏻😁
The reason why I got the 3x4 is because Outhaus didn’t have the 3x3 … but as soon they got them on stock I’ll get one and make a video about that type of setups it can do.
My first priority is/was the 3x3 … but I must say that the 3x4 gives me some awesome possibilities for cool setups 👌🏻😉 … the tarp-tipi setup is perfect with the 3x4 tarp 🌲
Hope my answer can help you in deciding which one you want to buy 😊👌🏻🌤🔥🌲
Atb to you my friend
@@cimbrerbushcraft-vikingheritag could you explain or show how you setup the tarp in this configuration? its great but I cant work it out
Yes 👍🏻 😄 off course … I’ve made a video about tarp setup … including that one 🏕👌🏻😉
Go to my series Bushcraft from A to Z … under T … and you’ll find it there 😁🌲🦌🌤
Thanks for your feedback 🔥
@@cimbrerbushcraft-vikingheritag thats great. its the 'forester' tarp setup is that correct? Final question, in your 'T' tarp video, you do it with a 3 x 3 I think? in this video you have a 3 x 4. How do you set it up with a 3 x 4? because on the diagonal the sides will be different lengths?
Actually the setup is better with a 3x4 m tarp because it will provide you more room in the front 😁👍🏻. Just fold the back of the tarp more in under the setup 👌🏻. The best and most important thing about that tarp setup is that it “close” the front ( entrance) so you have more protection for rain and wind 💨 💪🏻🌤🔥🏕
Hope you can figure it out 🤔
It not the easiest setup … but when you go ahead … it’ll come to you 😉. Atb to you
What is the name of your stove?
Thanks Vicki for your interest in my channel 👍🏻😉 I appreciate your feedback very much. I use 2 stoves in this video. A Solo Stove Titan ( morning meal) and in the evening I used my Bushcrafting Essential Bushbox XL

One word: 4.5 Kg.
O_O
Nice tho.
Actually 4.8 kg 🤔 … but still worth bringing along 👍🏻😊
Military commonly carry 80 lbs (36 kg) packs. I don't think 4.8 kg is excessive for shelter.
A lightweight 3x3 tarp = 600g (DD Hammock)
A 50% coton 3x3 tarp = 1200g (Tatonka 2Tc)
Why should i want 4Kg more for the same purpose ?
I don't understand, but if it suits you, no problem !
Here, do not snak my friend?
Hi Jorge 👋🏻 great to hear from you again my friend
