Well I will tell you why. It is very simple indeed. Misery loves company and their are those out there that are extremely miserable and hurting, and they want others to be miserable and hurtful just like they are. There's a saying in the field of therapy that goes like this, Hurt people can only hurt people....until we look into the mirror and say that I love you, we are not capable of making rational healthy decisions...enough rambling, therapy session is over. Having said all that, here it is in short form. There are lonely assholes everywhere. Tom is my friend and one of the kindest people on this earth. Great video, Tom, it reminds me that I need to show a couple coworkers some quick tarp shelters before fire season. They had an incident last year that they could have made a lot more bearable with a little extra gear in their fire packs. Small 2m square tarp and a space blanket would have gone a long way on that fire. The weight of one water bottle, they could have had a way to break the constant winds and kept warm.

Wow !! I can't believe your weather. In the area where I live it's very flat also. If we want to down hill ski we have to find a big hole to slide into. As for Xtra gear , if weight is not a problem why not have a few extra comforts. I say , It's better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it. Great video my friend. That would be a great spot in the cool weather. I would say that in the warmer months it could get rather buggy. For the letter "Y" you could tell "Why" you enjoy spending time in the woods. Thanks for sharing!

Beautiful spot my friend. I am just packing my kit for a weekend hammock camping trip with a friend. I wish I could send you some pictures of this. I received a small magic carpet tarp made buy DD hammocks for Christmas I will be trying this out at the weekend. Can't wait for y and z of bushcraft. Speak soon. Adam.

I really enjoyed this vid, very tranquil, the place where you settled. A canvas tarp is a great piece of gear, however, heavy weight especially when you have to pack it after it got wet. On the up side of a canvas tarp is that it won't be destroyed by a spark from the fire and it will reflect heat (body heat or heat from the fire) a lot better than any synthetic fibre ever could :) Keep up the nice work and atb!

Look on amazon or if you travel acros eurepe in military shops for Polish army plasht-palatka, think thath its 2*2 and its canvas. Have a good time out and happy new year !
Tom .. to follow on a previous answer to your request for a small canvas tarp. The Russian 'Plash Palatka' is something to consider. 'Varusteleka' from Finland supply them. I have bought from them in the past .. no-nonsense, excellent service with 3 day delivery times to here in Rheinfelden CH. Worth a look-see.
I have two tarps like the one you have except one is heavier than the other one. I also keep tape to repair it if that happens. The ones I have can be used for sleeping under and put my sleeping bag and liner under also. That is a great location for setting up a sleeping system and the deer isn't bad if they are the only animals in the area.

Nice video Tom .. thanks 👍😊. Yep .. Whiskey and Tobacco (and Coffee).. what would one do without them 😉. I personally don't smoke (tried it once as a Teenager .. Aargh .. Ptooey .. Noooo .. this cannot be fun 😣😁) .. although, whilst in the Army, some of my Mates, like you, smoked pipe. It always looked so nice though, watching them .. very ritualised. Loved then, the smell of the tobacco .. Rum and Maple if I recall correctly. Thus, I'll give the Tobacco a miss 😉 and substitute it with Dark Chocolate (85 Proof) 😊. Tom I contacted Tent Smiths to see how much there 7x7 oil skin tarps are and shipping to Denmark would cost and it would be 145.00 for the tarp and 61.00 for shipping hope this helps. I have one that size and love it .

have you looked at military zeltbahns if you need a canvas tarp? they come in all shapes and sizes, most are small for sleeping in but ok as a temporary shelter. (east german army version is a fairly respectable color)

That marsh looks like a great spot for an overnight camp out. How far do you need to travel to get to that location? I saw a few bikes travel past in the background so it must be fairly good access.

Wow !! I can't believe your weather. In the area where I live it's very flat also. If we want to down hill ski we have to find a big hole to slide into. As for Xtra gear , if weight is not a problem why not have a few extra comforts. I say , It's better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it. Great video my friend. That would be a great spot in the cool weather. I would say that in the warmer months it could get rather buggy. For the letter "Y" you could tell "Why" you enjoy spending time in the woods. Thanks for sharing!

I really enjoyed this vid, very tranquil, the place where you settled. A canvas tarp is a great piece of gear, however, heavy weight especially when you have to pack it after it got wet. On the up side of a canvas tarp is that it won't be destroyed by a spark from the fire and it will reflect heat (body heat or heat from the fire) a lot better than any synthetic fibre ever could :) Keep up the nice work and atb!

The Russian 'Plash Palatka' is something to consider. 'Varusteleka' from Finland supply them. I have bought from them in the past .. no-nonsense, excellent service with 3 day delivery times to here in Rheinfelden CH. Worth a look-see.

I have two tarps like the one you have except one is heavier than the other one. I also keep tape to repair it if that happens. The ones I have can be used for sleeping under and put my sleeping bag and liner under also. That is a great location for setting up a sleeping system and the deer isn't bad if they are the only animals in the area.

Yep .. Whiskey and Tobacco (and Coffee).. what would one do without them 😉.
I personally don't smoke (tried it once as a Teenager .. Aargh .. Ptooey .. Noooo .. this cannot be fun 😣😁) .. although, whilst in the Army, some of my Mates, like you, smoked pipe. It always looked so nice though, watching them .. very ritualised. Loved then, the smell of the tobacco .. Rum and Maple if I recall correctly.
Thus, I'll give the Tobacco a miss 😉 and substitute it with Dark Chocolate (85 Proof) 😊.

Tom I contacted Tent Smiths to see how much there 7x7 oil skin tarps are and shipping to Denmark would cost and it would be 145.00 for the tarp and 61.00 for shipping hope this helps. I have one that size and love it .

have you looked at military zeltbahns if you need a canvas tarp?
they come in all shapes and sizes, most are small for sleeping in but ok
as a temporary shelter. (east german army version is a fairly respectable color)

How far do you need to travel to get to that location? I saw a few bikes travel past in the background so it must be fairly good access.
Well Denmark is a small country … so you can’t even get far into the forest 🌳 🌲
But it’s in the middle of the forest 👍🏻😁 But unfortunately there is that mountainbike track near by 😖 … so much of the quiet and peacefulness is comprised by them. 😏
