I laughed so much when you said "People like to point things out!" I wonder how many of the "pointer outers" actually go into the woods at all, let alone build a camp and sleep overnight. I am hoping to do my first camp this year and I get a lot of inspiration from your videos. Its nice to see someone in the south of England doing it. cheers Fazza
Hi Fazza lol so true.. the 'armchair bush crafters' hahaha. Good to hear that you're gonna start getting out.. its been so hard since xmas for me time wise, I havnt camped out since the night before xmas eve! shocking lol
Im from north Ontario. This is child's play. We did this and better as children. Try the little fort in the actual bush.See how long you last, NOT at the edge of London.
Andy Mark here from the U.S. very good video again! I and many others live vicariously through your videos with professional videography that you provide don't stop, keep them coming !!! Thanks Brother I will be watching !
James Williams--I was thinking the same thing about this gentleman and couldn't find the right word, but genuine soul fits so well. He is a sweet human being--so likeable.
Appreciate these vlogs Andy. Im from New Zealand, but have been living in Kent for the last 12 years and used to to do a lot of what you do now. Brings back lots of fond memories. KiwiKent
Another great video Andy just need to put this to test lol.... when all the kids are in school and I can legally run away for a full 6 hours hahahaha love watching you saved this video for bed time xxxx
So let me point out a couple of things. First that's a darn nice shelter, the sandwich looked good and I do really like that little cookware. I have used old tarps on the inside of some of my shelters to keep out the wind Not to bush crafty or good looking but gets the job done until improvements can be made. Take care, Al
First of all, Great camping video! And about your new backpack, I wouldn't want anything bigger than that one i really like it Plus you can always add to it, Rolled up tent on top sleeping bag on bottom You can get different attachments for the side to add. great job buddy.....
Discovered your channel only 2 days ago and im hooked! Great content. Never been one for camping but watching your videos makes me want to get into it!!
Always great videos. The new base is going to be terrific. I look forward to lots of great adventures in 2019. Thanks for all your care in making wonderful vids!
The shelter is coming along quite nicely Andy. It is very relaxing watching you at work on it. Of all the grilled cheese I have eaten I have never thought of adding ham to it I'll have to try that.
Well I know what I'm eating at my next over-nighter, grilled ham and cheese! Damn that looked good. I have never thought of doing that over a fire. I laughed out loud when you said," people like to point things out".🤣 I call those type's "arm chair commando's". Thanks for another great video. Be safe. Roger
That is such a nice little hut! Love it and wish I had one. Just because. We are not campers, but seeing what people do makes me want to go help them and make one for myself, as well. Too much poison ivy down on the bayou.....
Finally caught up with you’re video buddy! Camp is looking great - really like how it’s coming together! You’ve got to put that flag up level though mate (OCD kicking in again 😂) grilled ham’n’cheese for the win!!
As usual, a very nice video. I like the little skillet. I just got a fire box stove for Christmas. I was able to try it already. I loved it. Works like yours does. You have done a great job on the shelter. Thank you for sharing.
Andy, yet another great instructional video, loving the content you put out and you've inspired me to go out and do it myself. Your my Yoda 😂😂 thanks mate, keep up the good work 👍👍👍👍
Nice shelter man ... I’m bad though, I wouldn’t be able to stop there. I’d be double skinning it and insulating with sheep’s wool, putting a wood burner in and stuff! I made some shingles myself for a woodland cabin, it was fun, didn’t do that many in the end and actually used them for the walls rather than the roof. They are good for patching up gaps and making it windproof.
shelter coming on fine Andy ..lot of work but well worth it when you get some great over nighters in them ..waiting for snow my self to see how my roof holds out ...another sound vid from you ..atb ..steve
Good to see you back out Andy. Your camp is looking awesome, I love the way you keep everything as natural as possible. Good on ya mate. Take care, Steve.. 👍👍
I have been following your Instagram closely and the shelter has come along nicely! Really liking the intro shots, you can see the effort! Looking forward to an overnight.... I am sure you will cook up something fun!!!! Haha ATB Patrick
Great video as ever. I think the first thing I'd build is a wood cutting trestle, it's such a ballache bending over trying to hold wood as you saw through it.
Jute rope. Used on old sailing ships I think so presumably rot proof - calk it with a blunt chisel ? You have a good supply of poles where your old shelter used to be. Save your legs and bring a load of them over to the new one and put the offcuts directly into your wood store or use them to build one. Bring a plastic box up and dry a load of tinder by your fire to keep ready for use and next time bring a large plastic shopping bag to collect a lot more leaves for your roof - takes up no room. Is the square grill just for your fire or is it a domestic one ? Like the look of it as I love cheese on toast. And yes, I'm a fireside critic as 80 is a bit too old to emulate your activities.
Nice one Andy, I'm liking your new set up, should be cosy and warm when you get the stove on there... just a comment on your toastie... you need more ham mate... like 4 times as much :-) Looking forward to the progress of the build. Lee
You hear the helicopter more than we do. Warm your knife in the fire for a sec. or two. Then Cold butter is no longer an issue. Looking forward to seeing it completed.
Jelous about how you seem to get the stove going first time. Normally takes me two or three tries. Love how the camp is progressing. On another note I also use nice ham as opposed to un-nice ham in my cheese toasties.
nice ham is... nice haha.. the bushbox seems to breathe very easily so ive not had any issues.. I guess all in the prep.. I did have practice with a crappy lixada first.. maybe that helped as this is easier
Hey Andy thought u got long term sick leave from utube or doing something else, good to know it was neither, suggestions: 1. Easy would be to add a brick gravity fed DIY stove an L shaped one to the base camp, first the bad, the bad would be it will be a load to carry, all them bricks to the camp , the good will be it will keep u toasty and when the time comes to take it down, it would be simply to dismantle it brick by brick 2. When making a Wall in winter or early winter spring season..the best insulation as u guess is heavy garbage plastic that u can woven zig zag, full plastic sheet from the the camp ceiling down to the ground, then place 1 stick outside n the other inside (holding by the side posts, making a contrast wall. That will ensure ur not brrrrrr cold at night. Stay safe..God bless
Happy Year New Andy ,glad the 4x4 is back and working .Nice new shelter ,did enjoy the cemetery vid ,learnt a lot from the different meanings of head stone carving .Look forward to next vid and some snow maybe :)
Thanks mate.. the Truck still needs some work but will do locally with some coolant top ups until I get it done haha.. soon! I plan on trying to do all the cemetery's this year hopefully! and lots more symbolism to cover!
All hail the Pointer Outers... 😂 😂 😂 (.. Twats 😂) Nice little shack Andy, should be a right little toaster with a stove in... especially in the snow. Great stuff.. Cheers 👍
Looks good Andy, bet you can't wait till its fully finished! Already looks like it'll be very snug, especially when your going to put a wood burner / stove in there.
Great video mate love the build. I went out and bought an Olight M2R Warrior 1500 torch a couple of days ago. Bloody brilliant. Good to see you got your truck going.
I really like your bushbox and cookware combination. You mentioned making shingles to cover the roof: why not shingle the sides as well or instead? The tarp roof is up and serviceable and it is only getting better as you moss it and add leaves. I would never have the patience for mossing or caulking the spaces between all those logs.
Its a good point James with the shingles.. I might consider that but its going to take a while to both source / cut the logs and make them, I will probably fill the walls in the mean time as ill probably get that done on my next camp
Enjoying the video's, watched all of them so far. Most of your video's involve you cooking your dinner :P. I only wondered what sort of video equipment you are using. Oh, yes, the log cabin is great.

Thanks a lot Andy, cheers! ✌️
One of the few honest bushcrafters out there. It takes a man to point out imperfections. You have a great channel Andy thanks for your hard work!

I like watching ur videos. You seem like a truthful and genuine soul. You really seem to like what you do on the videos. From Georgia USA
Hi James, thank you for the kind words.. Always good to get out and re-charge the batteries :) haha ATB - Andy
James Williams--I was thinking the same thing about this gentleman and couldn't find the right word, but genuine soul fits so well. He is a sweet human being--so likeable.
From Georgia as well and I'm thinking about getting started in the next year or so

Thank you Matt :)
It's got the makings of a nice shelter, excellent video as always.
Thanks Roy.. certainly starting to get there!
I'm so envious of the wooded areas you camp in. They are beautiful! We're running out of old forrests that permit camping.
Discovered your channel only 2 days ago and im hooked! Great content. Never been one for camping but watching your videos makes me want to get into it!!
I like how you made your shelter really nice and keep cool

That is such a nice little hut! Love it and wish I had one. Just because. We are not campers, but seeing what people do makes me want to go help them and make one for myself, as well. Too much poison ivy down on the bayou.....
You could put some plastic inside and a tarp on top and be snug in there for sure or hang some blankets on the wall to stop wind it looks great
Finally caught up with you’re video buddy! Camp is looking great - really like how it’s coming together! You’ve got to put that flag up level though mate (OCD kicking in again 😂) grilled ham’n’cheese for the win!!

Thanks Patrick.. its no cabin but it'll be good to get a few nights in it at least!
@@KentSurvival I think for your environment it should be quite grand. Would you build a cabin if you could?
Oh hell yeah haha. Hard to find space or permission on this overcrowded island.
