Didn't realize that this was the Three Degrees until today March 20 2024. I was 5 years old when this song was a Huge !!! Huge!!! Hit !! All of these years later at the age of 59 , im just realizing that the version of this song that I've loved the most is right here. This Soulful Masterpiece Is Deftly Demonstrated By THE THREE DEGREES!!! ❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉❤ Thanks for uploading and sharing this with us all, Especially Me!!!❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉
At 67 I'm just realizing the same also. I remember loving this song from the radio. Never knew who sang it. This came out before "when will I see you again".
This is such a soulful, well planned, well thought out and well written song. The music is magical. The girl realised that she made the biggest mistake in her life when she chased her boyfriend out of her life. She regretted it bitterly for she realised that she still loved him. Then came their meeting by chance. and they just stood there looking at each other. She expressed remorse and accepted him right back into her life
Bitter, Bitter Sweet, my very significant other used to sit outside my house, with this playing on his 8 track player, when we'd had an silly little argument, my mom and dad would be laughing so hard, and ask me what I'd done to that boy, sometimes I'd go out, sometimes I wouldn't. Once he even came into the beauty shop, got on his knees at my feet, in front of everyone in the shop that day to say he was sorry, please marry me. Well we got married, had 3 wonderful children together, 2 boys, 1 girl, all mini versions of him, I named the 1st boy after him, he became BCB III, 2nd boy a BCB, and then our daughter BCB. Sadly though on February 7, 2000, I lost my sweet BCB. Thankfully I still have my not so little 3 BCBs though, I am thankful for the years we had together. Thank You for this video. I truly appreciate it.
Yes, this is soul, real black soul, these black sisters were so gifted. The lead singer pulled some damn notes in here only a black woman can sing. You have to be black to be a real soul singer. Blacks are blessed to be born with real soul, often imitated but never replicated. Sing it, my black sister.
I agree, because I usually HATE build ups in songs, but for some reason, she had me hooked! I guess it was her beauty, voice, charm, and acting ability for that era-this was done when only a few Black groups were doing videos.
I’ve been searching for this specific song for years and years. It’s been brewing in my head since I was a kid. Thank you so much for uploading this classic and soulful song that my mother used to play.
Wow hearing it at 64 brings back the memories of 24. Black lights in the basement house party. 70’s were the best years ever of music. Thank you Valerie.
She killed this song!! Her voice is very unique, strong, but soft. Excellent job!! This was like a video before videos came out, about 7 or 8 years early!!😀
I love the 3 Degrees appearance on Sanford And Son! I can still hear Fred, Bubba, Leroy and Skillet screaming "We want the 3 Degrees- "We want the 3 Degrees!"
These beautiful, black, talented sisters, were a joy to listen to. Damn this sister blows this song right out of the water. What a hell of a voice! In fact they all had great voices, but this song was a definite soul knock out. Still enjoying this in 2019.
SOULFUL. This is music that touches my soul. Those were the days when sisters had pure love in their hearts. It's not until you listen to the break-up crap that women sing today, is when you can truly appreciate the soul that black women of the 70's possessed. Damn. I feel like we let a generation of Beautiful Black women slip right through our fingers.
These girls could seriously throw down!! "I Do Take You", "I Didn't Know", "Dirty Ol' Man", "There's So Much Love All Around Me", and "TSOP" which was credited on the record as by MFSB Featuring the Three Degrees, and an across-the-board #1!! These girls had a lot of hits.
Dope!!! Late 1960s through the mid 1970s soul couldn’t be topped!!! Whether if was Philly Soul, The Motown Sound, Memphis/Stax or Chicago Soul I wish I had a time machine!!!!!!
Fayette Pinkney, Sheila Ferguson, and Valerie Holiday were one of my favorite groups. I was very young but my older cousins would play music that I really got into. I remember The Three Degrees singing "Collage" it just let me have it! I miss their style -
Even though the three degrees had lots of hit songs to me they never gotten that big around the world tv recognizetion .., very excellent girl singing group ..al three young ladies are and still sexy even with new members ..the ladies need a star on Hollywood walk of fame !!😊😮😢❤
I been looking for this song looooooong time is a DJ Davey send me the name of this song I played it until who listened to this in 2023 hands in air big big big sing Thank you DJ Davey MC Intyer
They look So pretty & beautiful, not to mention classy, singing ahh man l can't find the words l truly want to say.Love this video Thanks for sharing!!!!!!!
I love this video she starts out so smooth with the speaking parts the goes right into belting her heart out accompanied with those harmonies. Good stuff.
mrstep2me I have to disagree. Fergenson joined in 1966, replacing Helen Scott, who was the lead-singer. Valerie joined in 1967, replacing Jenet Harmon. If you listen to singing on both "Maybe" and "When Will I See You Again", you'll recognize that it is the same person, and there is NO DOUBT Sheila sang lead on "When Will I See You Again".
Havent heard this since 1970-71 You-Tube has EVERYTHING!!! Thanx for the memories. Thank you Peggy Johnson...Rita Spears...Deborah Brown my own personal 3-Degrees
I FINALLY FOUND THIS JAM!!! I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR THIS VERSION OF MAYBE FOR YEARS... I was a 8 Years Old when This Jam Came Out. My Big Sister used to play this when they had Basement Parties. I couldn't go? But I would LOVE TO HEAR IT PLAY UPSTAIRS... We Had one of the first "Stereos" that opened up on one side, and had speakers built in on Both Sides... WOW!!! Thanks For Posting...

This song reminds me of one of the best summers of my life. We lived in an apartment building on Avalon near 95th street. A soul food restaurant on the corner and the House of Burgers on the next corner. The girls in our apartment building played this song everyday and I never got tired of it. The Three Degrees were awesome! People like Deloris and Wayne,Donnie, Dirty Red,Sharon,Junie,Maria,Tanya,Ms. Doris,Paul,Tumbleweed,
I was born and raised in LA and you brought up some great memories. I remember House of Burgers and also going to Green Meadows Park to play and hang out
Just the way I had envisioned it. This was a treat to see! Thank you for posting. Such a powerful display of the versatile talent in the group. All could sing lead. And all did leading well.

Three Degrees are really really underrated girl band man.
Totally agree!
I loved them!
The guy in the video looking like right Lionel Jefferson on Jefferson
I couldn't agree more 💯

Guess you never heard of Teena Marie
Not only is Valerie one of the illest, most powerful female vocalists I've ever heard. But she's absolutely gorgeous in this video
Not for nothing but the Supremes as much as I love and still do. These women out shined them.
Maybe the greatest build up ever
Krloff Yes yes yes yes! Great build up!
Yes indeed still my jawn 💜💜
@@xavierdh2000 And she wrote that build up, but wasn't allowed a co-write credit.
Till this day as absolutely amazing as the singing is I still remember this song for the build up. That’s the song for me. Iconic.
I agree, because I usually HATE build ups in songs, but for some reason, she had me hooked! I guess it was her beauty, voice, charm, and acting ability for that era-this was done when only a few Black groups were doing videos.
Do anyone else here the rich soul in those voices as they blend? Now that’s singing.
I’ve been searching for this specific song for years and years. It’s been brewing in my head since I was a kid. Thank you so much for uploading this classic and soulful song that my mother used to play.

Damn I can feel they energy through the screen!!! blacks folks were just different back then
I think we ALL had more SOUL back then...
And that's why They changed that
We're still built different. From the beginning of time to the end. Soul is our legacy. To be black is to have soul. Periodt 💅
My awesome taste in music brought me here.

Valerie, Valerie, Valerie! What a voice, and easy to look at as well, and to think, she wasn't even the primary lead singer! What a group!!!
She killed this song!! Her voice is very unique, strong, but soft. Excellent job!! This was like a video before videos came out, about 7 or 8 years early!!😀
I never knew they had music videos in 1970. Wow! ...That lead singer was fine as hell!💗😍
AND, they were LADIES who 'curtsied' at the end! Looking like Gorgeous Black Queens and not Hookers.....they were a Class Act....
@@sofumba Hell even hookers back then looked classy compared to nowadays
Won’t she?!?! My goodness she was gorgeous!!!
This wasn't a music video it was a TV special.
@@jimmiesmith5811 Sure did
I love the 3 Degrees appearance on Sanford And Son! I can still hear Fred, Bubba, Leroy and Skillet screaming "We want the 3 Degrees- "We want the 3 Degrees!"

And I just fell all apart inside because I hadn't heard that voice in such a long time...
Y'all hear how she sounds, right?
And I turned around
Love part i feel my nerves builden .
Valerie Holliday is FANTASTIC! She's got the looks to match her voice as well.
mrstep2me That's NOT Valerie Holliday singing lead, it's Sheila Fergenson, who was lead-singer from 1966-1986, including "When Will I See You Again".
jimy0803 Sheila did most of their leads, but not this one.
mrstep2me Ok, upon further review, I stand corrected. My bad.
@@jimy0803 'Bout time you admitted you were wrong.
I don't know who it is. But she can sho sing. Are these the same girls that br talking bout when will i see you again? Boy she sho can sing!!!
