Good video! Your reaction to driving a Mk3 RS was similar to mine, I think: great cars and very capable, but not the same grin factor as you'd get with a Mk2! Not that this is a comparison video of course, but as the Mk2 gets a mention in the video, fairly relevant I would suggest... ;) Power delivery on the Mk3 is a lot more refined, however the sense of speed with the Mk2 is more obvious I feel, and dare I say it more fun. And about as subtle as a bull in a china shop, too... ;)

Future car reviews should be similar, if not better. Would I own another Mk3 - Yes. Would I sell my Mk2 for one? No. Maybe when my Mk2 is paid off in 2 years I’ll add another Mk3 to the garage...who knows!

Quality video! i have the Ultima 3 on mine and it does feel aggressive but very fun hopefully Ultima 3+ is different or i may have to try this CP2 seems very well put together.
@@albertromero7601 it’s a package that was developed by Mountune. Turbo downpipe, cast inlet plenum, intercooler, uprated fuel pump, Mountune exhaust and tune. 375bhp. I’ve driven one and they are superb.
My Mk2 can keep up with FPM375 but not this CP2 map. I’m only running about 320 - 330bhp in my Mk2. MSD420 was a really strong map on the last runway day 👍🏼
Why do you think the media always bang on about Ford's "fun factor" and "great handling". They may feel fast on the roads but when you look at lap times they actually aren't that fast? Surely if they were great drivers cars they would be more competitive?
It usually boils down to their straight line speed. Most performance Fords are slow compared to their rivals. It’s always been that way. But in terms of the chassis / playfulness they’ve always been great. A little bit of fettling with the power and you get the car it should have been. A prime example of great, fun little package would be the mk7 Fiesta ST.
@@CarFocused yes but what do ford do to make their chassis Feel "playful" that other manufacturer miss? I've driven loads of Ford's and i just don't feel it, take outright performance out of the equation do you really think a focus rs drives better than a 140i or a a45 amg? I don't.
They’d all be very similar tbh. I think the variations are actually best tested on the road in terms of how they deliver the power and how that affects the drivability when pushing on...

Have you tried Ultima 2? I found that to be a smooth stage 2 map 👍🏼
Hopefully for dream science runners the 3+ is a more linear power delivery, I didn’t like my dream science days
