  • I talked to Mike Pompeo for an hour. He often surprised me, and sometimes ticked me off.

Pompeo was CIA Director and then became Secretary of State.
Now he might run for president.
    This is our full interview.
    He’s a very smart politician.
He surprised me by saying a bunch of things I liked, but also a lot I hate.
He says legalizing drugs is a “terrible idea” and Edward Snowden should be killed.
But I’m glad Pompeo's willing to debate. Many politicians won’t.
I’m also glad he has a sense of humor.

They lie, extort, manipulate, and murder to achieve a very shady unknowable version of America. It might be a good version that we would want and desire, but the people determining that version are arbitrary and change from year to year. The agents might be of impeccable character and virtue, but they get indoctrinated into the Family all the same - self justifying against the swill of humanity. The reality is that they ultimately prop up the clearly despicable corporate-political class that rules our nation. I doubt they have a better alternative but it is what it is.

Pompeo persuaded me on Snowden. I still believe that exposing the Federal government was heroic. I always discounted the Federal government's claims against him as revenge for making them look bad. Perhaps I should be more humble in my ignorance and realize that doing one heroic act doesn't turn a person into a saint. I have moved from being a full Snowden supporter to being appreciative of one act and remaining undecided on his full character.

Excellent interview! We got to learn a lot more about Mr. Pompeo than any other time while he was working for the government. I like that you debated and challenged him but allowed him to answer without interruptions. Thank you.

Here is an excellent interview with a potentially future presidential candidate. I neither support nor wish to criticize Mike Pompeo and his opinions but I do support the goal here of providing an extensive in-depth interview so we can better understand these candidates. I hope that John Stossel and others in the media will interview all candidates in a long format such as this.

@Gov Loves You - Why are you compelled to say that in reply to Kenneth? Seems non-relevant to his point. Perhaps you should just make that it’s very own comment, Gov…don’t ya think?

@Gov Loves You So you not only posted a non-relevant spam reply once…but twice on the same comment? Do you have political tourette syndrome or something where you just type away whatever random thought crosses your mind as soon as you think it no matter if it makes sense or not? Come on…be better.

Says he wants to murder Snowden and Snowden would be found guilty and executed. All while calling Snowden weak and recognizing that Snowden saw Thomas Drake was left out to dry after going through proper channels.

If Snowden dies of anything other than natural causes then it would be murder
If he's taken in front of a court in the United States and executed for treason then the people behind that should be hung in the streets for their worse treason

Yeah, I disagree with his take on Snowden.
He never said ‘murder.’ He did say held accountable by a jury. Death penalty is/ can be the penalty for being a traitor.
I don’t see Snowden that way. After all these years, no operatives have been harmed due to Snowden’s leak.
Now they have changed the narrative to include troop movements.🤔

    • @rpc2112
      @rpc2112 Рік тому +5

Pompeo said he would seek the death penalty for Snowden. Murder is a subjective definition of death penalty, which certainly is a valid perspective of the death penalty. Murder is generally defined as the premeditated thought of and subsequent act of killing another human. Under this definition, seeking the death penalty is indeed premeditated. It is not an act of passion in the moment. Therefore, though Pompeo may not have said the word "murder," he absolutely spoke of it using its definition through suggestive alternative language.
