      Why is there nothing between the first few bricks? Like to keep them strong and secure like what they use on bricks. I might be wrong but I didn’t see it someone please educate me

    I like your tip with the flood level test. I've watched plenty of videos of DIYers and pros and no one else has ever done anything like that

    Hard work pays off, excellent job! Once I created my curb appeal my neighbors all followed suit. I bet the same happened in your neighborhood. Awesome video editing too

      Yes, but there are city code restrictions that prevents going higher

    Did you all use cement between the bricks a couple that works together stays together lol! Awesome job no matter what anyone say long as you like it! It's a learning experience it will always be a nay sayer

      Used loctite PL500 landscape adhesive.These are retaining wall blocks and it has lip at the bottom. So need of concrete.

    So how far apart are the post on the fence.. you might have mention & missed it somewhere.. You gave me an idea on my fence now.

      Fence post are 4ft apart. For horizontal 4ft is recommended to prevent wood from moving and sagging. For curves, it's less than 4ft.

    just 2 concerns. the grass loosing its color over the years and rusting of those 5 inch nails. what are your plans about that? work done really good.

      True. Thats 10 years from now. Might have to replace then or time for new design.

      Bought it from Costco. Brand name : naturally solar. can find in amazon but expensive though

      Actually I bought it for $384 from Amazon. Brand name: Yardmax. But I don't see them in Amazon anymore.

    Any thoughts about spreading white marble rocks on the peripherals of grass alongside the plants? It would give a more contrasting appeal to the grass & the wooden fence. Just thinking out Loud here. Awesome job though!

      Thought about that. But marbles is heavy and in few years if I want to remove marbles and change something it becomes hard.

      Leaf blow for stuck debris and leaves. Rain washes away dirt and drains. There are cleaning supplies available for it,

    This is a million times better then the dead grass yards and the messy rock filled yards. Maybe a tree would of been nice. We need to plant more trees. But you would have to clean after the leaves

    Brilliant work. The end result looks fantastic. Even better since it was a DIY job. well done.
    I thought it was strange that he was using plastic sheeting behind the retaining wall. Normally you aim to have most water go through your drainage pipe, but still let water go through the wall to prevent weight build-up behind the wall.
    However, at 4:23 it looks a lot like he has wrapped the corrugated pipe in plastic. That makes no sense, since the whole purpose of the French drain is to allow the water to enter the pipe, which the plastic would block. Did I mis-understand what was happening?

    Absolutely love your fence and your yard looks incredible 🥰. I will admit to massive curiosity about the choice of artificial grass. I know many reasons for using it (and so many really good reasons; allergies, desert area, water conservation and even the lack of ability or time to care for). Your yard is seriously gorgeous!
