That looks like the future of wing design! I have telling people that wings will start feeling more like windsurfing sails and have more structure/tension in the canopy design and tighten up the trailing edge by using sail materials like x-ply and mini-battens. Also you get more visibility without needing a window.
I really dont think it is tbh. There are upsides and downsides to this wing. From what I heard its great when riding with a good amount of wing and will be extremely powered and speedy, but it gets outperformed by a lot by other wings in other areas such as downwinding and freestyle due to its weight and such. I think the odds of all wing canopy material becoming x-ply like are extremely small
Love the canopy progress here. Any improvements in the leading edge? It looks different with the big seam and unusual pattern. That seam look like sticks out some which seems kind of strange
Tell me about the radial seams. Using X-PLY material, the seams only deteriorate and weaken over time. Was there an idea to make a bath from 4 whole pieces, or from 2 pieces (along the line of addition)? The profile of the dome is flat enough, thus we can get closer to the windservice. they don't make pot-bellied baths there

The 3rd seam in from the wingtip failed after 6 sessions on my 5.2M SWX... Very disappointing more disappointing was the hassle that I had to go through with Real to get a refund. I ended up paying to ship the wing back to them to get a refund. Didn't hear anything at all from Reedin which sucks and I lost confidence with Real. Not buying anything from Real or Reeding again. Very bad customer service.

The X ply wing is the same weight as the standard rip stop. I found it feels lighter in the air because it doesn’t have flutter.
