Great, truthfull and detailed review. I ride three reedin wings for the whole year (4.2 v1, 2.8 v1 and 2.8 x). My favorite thing whith them is to make radical windsurf-like powered jibes with huuuge radius one-handed. I tried the same things on my other wings (f one strike v2 & ozon v1) - not even close! Great durability, wind range, pumping, turns and no problem with neutrality even on crappy wind waves, but not a feather feeling. My neoprene handles on v1 wore off, but I solved it using X-handles (they are easily switchable) and never want to go back, cause it give more power and control. I decided to stay with them for another year in 2.8 size (not sure about x or common and yeah we have 15ms+ often), and yet not decided about 4.2 - want to compare it directly with Strike v2, which I like a lot in 5.5 size. I liked Reedin more than Strike v1, but now F one improved handles and choice became complicated for me :)
Hi Sergei! Thanks for your feedback and thoughts on these wings. You brought the « long term review feedback » i cannot bring in my reviews 👍 have you tried to ride without the handle covers? They are pretty thick to my taste. What do you think?
@@HadrienBRUNNER I heard that some riders make their handles flexier by removing some inside material, not a shell. If you remove shell inside you find sticky material which impossible to use without shell. I'm too lazy to unstitch something or make my own cover, so using it "as is". After few days of muscles adaptation (those days I was tired more than usual) I like the idea of thick handles: it's a great completely safe alternative to boom with similar control. For me it's important in hard conditions, cause with soft handled wings like F-One you have some delay of energy from handles and difficulties with rotations. Here with Reedin as soon you touch handle, you feel power and can use it and quick rotations one handed are super easy too. So, Reedin fly neutral worse than some lightweights, but much better than average wing with boom and infinitly better than boom when your face flying into central strut in crash))) As always, it's a compromise, but the good one.
Superbe video ! Je pense qu' avec les wings génération v3 de nombreuses marques ont du bon matos. On commence à avoir de plus en plus de peine à se décider pour un produit parmi la quantité d'options... Ca pourrait être intéressant de mettre les produits reviewé ainsi que le futur matos dans un tableau comparatif. Par exemple par catégorie (race, freeride, jump, beginner friendly , allrounder et perf)

Yo Ricou. Merci 😀 La X c’est un produit atypique que je dirai moins passe partout / consensuel que la V3, mais dont le feeling est assez different des autres wings. Faut tester si tu en as l’occasion

Salut Hadou. Il y a des supers promos sur les reedin superwing V3 en ce moment. Les commentaires sont plutôt élogieux lors de ton test. A quel niveau tu places ces ailes par rapport à la concurrence ? Perso j'ai des duotone slick V1, je suis un gros gabarit (88KG) niveau intermédiaire +++, est ce que je serais ravis avec ces ailes ? Hello, elles sont effectivement très puissantes et plutôt adaptées à des gros gabarits qui a des petits. Je m’apprête à sortir la review de la supernatural qui a gardé de la puissance et de la rigidité mais qui conviendra beaucoup plus. Les gabarits moyens je pense. C’est dans l’esprit des ensis et des takuma WR 3
@@HadrienBRUNNER Pour toi à 88kg je suis un gabarit moyen, c'est très sympa de ta part 🙂J'ai trouvé un super plan sur des slick sls lors du black friday, du coup j'ai pris ça pour remplacer/compléter mes slick V1. Venant du windsurf, j'aime bien le wishbone. En revanche j'ai trouvé une superwing X 4.2m² état neuf à 200e sur un site pdt le BF, je l'ai prise pour tester en cruising/speed pour les sessions de flat.
Super test encore, merci ! Et vraiment interressant de comparer dans la même marque surtout le modèle X qui est particulier.
Du coup, comme bon ambassadeur AFS que je suis :-) , je trouverai ça pas mal que tu essayes la AFS WILD car ce que tu ressens pour la ReedinX ressemble à ce que je ressens sur la WILD (plage haute, vitesse etc...). Pour moi c'est exactement le même programme, celui que tu décris (j'ai d'ailleurs vote fait remis le harnais pour essayer de tracer dans ma baie ;-) ) .
Et, je ne saute pas , mais ceux qui sautent en AFS WILD m'ont aussi dit que c'était un truc de dingue ! Le point commun entre ces 2 wings sont de nouveaux matériaux, innovants, rigides, et qui semblent apporter les mêmes avantages (et inconvénients ?) .
Yo Thomas! Oui il est bien possible qu’il y ait des similitudes. J’ai eu Antonin ce matin beaucoup d’échanges techniques très intéressants et du partage, Notamment sur les FOILs. Avec ce qui arrive chez la marque cette annee, il y aura des connexions cette année c’est clair et net 👍

The transparency on the X seems like a great idea. I'm often lifting my wing to check if I'm going to collide with someone, even the one I have with windows. Did you miss the visibility when switching back?
Hi! Not really. I m used to ride on windows less wings most part of the time and it doesn’t really bother me . Well placed windows may be more efficient than a full x-ply wing i think because the material was not made to see through it when the X was designed
@@HadrienBRUNNER interesting. Perhaps one day we'll get a practical transparent wing. I do like that both these wings reflect the trend towards wings with a lot of power for the size. I always try to use my 3.5m even if I have to pump a bit more initially.
La v3 ressemble visuellement à la mojo de chez flysurfer non? Je sais que tu as eu les deux en nav...
Hello. Ah non c’est tres tres tres differents. En tout point de vue. Jnai eu la modjo en 3,5. Quel points communs lui trouves tu? En navigation elle est bcp plus neutre et passe beaucoup mieux dans les tacks. La mojo avait du frein en freefly avec son profil tres creux.
Ok! Je trouvais que la forme ressemblait, quand on la voit posée sur le sable elle m'y a fait penser. Et quand tu parlé d'une aile rigide, avec bcp de puissance et assez stable en dans le plan vertical en nav, je trouvais des similitudes. Et le poids un peu plus important que les autres ailes du marché. Je n'avais pas la notion de frein en freefly, qui doit être assez désagréable !
