Nice work on repairing the plastic side paneld.
One useful tip for doing this is to put an old towell or similar piece of soft fabric on the worktop when doing it as it stops the downward facing part of the panel from being scratched as you move it and push against it while working.
It is a great technique for restoring old plastics you show.

Excellent info, thank you! I’ll have to remember that for next time…I’m sure there will be more!

The brass exhaust ring "gasket" is a crush washer so it's supposed to offer a bit of resistance as it crushes in, which makes a gas tight seal...
    ... hopefully!

Yup it did give me resistance when tightening down the header. Once all bolted down it is solid and the rest of the bolts lined up down the exhaust back to the muffler. Thanks!

@@Garage2Trail Just make sure it's not blowing when running. Should be fine.
Those heat shields are like hen's teeth... Hope you can score one... It's not a massive hassle to alter a heat shield from a similar bike, (if you've got the tools) but obviously, it'd be cool if you can find the right part ... 😃👍

@@davebarrowcliffe1289 I hear that…seems like heat shields are always hard to find! Just waiting for some decent weather here in PA for me to take it outside and fire it up for a while…then take it for a ride. I’ll be uploading those videos hopefully in the near future!

@@Garage2Trail First stop is call your local Honda dealer and ask em if they've got any NOS! Worth a try, because even if they haven't got one, they'll give you a part number and the model year/s that the part fits.
Makes a Google search much easier because once you've got that knowledge, you'll know that one off a '75 or a 1980 or whatever will fit.
Sorry if I'm telling you to suck eggs here, but I've been doing this a LONG time! 🤣🤣
I've turned rare parts up from Australia, Malaysia, Vietnam and India over the years!

@@davebarrowcliffe1289 thank you for the tip! I didn’t think to call my local dealers but def will. I’ve been going on bikebandit.com and looking at their parts views to try and get part numbers to search but I’ll try the dealers too! I appreciate the heads up Dave!

Thank you so much for the words of encouragement! I just started really documenting about two months ago and will be uploading much more in the future. Lots of different bike projects, ride alongs and some “how to’s”. I really appreciate the support!

I was unable to find the ‘77 decals. Seemed like it was the only year that wasn’t available if I remember correctly. Beautiful bikes! Man, I wish they were still at that price!

Not sure yet as I haven’t tried selling any yet lol. I become attached after I work on them but I need to make room eventually for future projects so it’s good to hear they go for that!
