Seconding iffahaidil. Try taking a small pinch of baking soda in water and see if that gives relief. If you're sodium sensitive take it with a pinch of potassium. You might need to rebuild the bladder lining, see if fresh raw cabbage juice helps (a 1/4 cup shredded green cabbage and 1/4 cup water and blend it and drink it). Can also add shredded green or red cabbage to salads or use lightly steamed cabbage to heal the lining over the next few months and avoid citrus and vinegar and whatever else may trigger it, until the bladder lining is healed. Maybe what happened was the diet wasn't good and the stomach lacked acid and H Pylori or some bacteria got in the bladder and made an ulcer. Some heal bladder with cabbage and then make sure you get enough acid like apple cider vinegar to help digest food and clean up the diet, less junk. Anyways that's a start to check out.
Remedy from a chinese doctor who treated my antibiotic resistant friend suffering from an aggressive uti: Finally chop a whole celery bunch, add to a medium size pot of water, simmer for an hr or two the longer the better, top with water if necessary. If I'm home when suffering I keep on simmer for a few hours. Drink this tea throughout the day (several cups), does not taste bad at all, along with lots of water. My symptoms usually disappear in 12 hours or so but keep drinking for at least 24, ideally 48 hours. Works a treat everytime.
1 tsp of baking soda in a glass of water and in an hour you’ll feel so much better. Taste disgusting but works for me and takes away the urge to go and the discomfort. Hope this helps someone.
D-Mannose! I can't believe she doesn't know about it. It's in the medical journals, finally. It works great. It's a left-handed sugar and sticks to the sides of the urethra. Check it out. 'm 63. I used to frequently get diagnosed with UTI, or yeast infection; given antibiotic IF UTI; sometimes a day or two later the doctor's office would call me to tell me that I did not have a UTI and to stop taking the med. ("BUT the med. made me feel better!") I was too shy to demand they figure out why I'm suffering so bad. I finally got to the point where I would suffer--even green discharge, sorry to be gross--and I wouldn't even go to the doctor because they would more than half the time tell me it was nothing. Finally I got smart and saw a urologist, where I was diagnosed with Irritable Bladder Syndrome; which FEELS like a UTI. "Almost everyone who has IBS (Irritable Bowel Disease) develops Irritable Bladder Disease.
In my case the tests came back negative for bacteria. However, the D-Mannose I was taking worked. The urologist refused to accept this and recommended surgery, so I dropped him. I use buchu extract as well as powdered D Mannose, which has done wonders. Not completely better since I have some anatomical abnormalities, but the discomfort is at a tolerable level, and no bleeding or discharge anymore.
d manose is not working for me even when I use it more tham recommended dose is. Also cranberries is useless for me, bacteria lyzat is also not working, I tried everything but it’s annoying. I drink so much I am sick of it.
There are many patients with chronic uti that none of this affects it. It would be great to see a video on treatment for those women - especially the ones told they have “IC” when they have multiple positive urine cultures. It took me 2 years and multiple cystoscopies to finally find a doctor who diagnosed me with trigonitis and did fulguration. Almost every new doctor I went to told me everything in this video like I hadn’t tried it already. There was no attempt to help look into why I wasn’t getting rid of the initial infection.
Thank you so much for all the information. I got my first UTI at the tender age of 16 and ever since I have had it for decades. Cranberries often really help. I have now the knowledge to check the cranberry pills at the pharmacy with your advice. Best wishes from northern Europe.
I couldn’t believe what a UTI could be. I had one that was not diagnosed for a while and it caused me to look like I had a stroke. I couldn’t walk right I couldn’t talk I was slurring I was lashing out and had anger in my fourth visit at the hospital, they said that I had a really bad UTI and that the UTI caused all of that at first I didn’t believe it until I looked it up OK after the antibiotics all of the sudden I was walking fine I was talking fine I was back to normal. I couldn’t believe it however, I still had a urinary track infection so I went through a second round of antibiotics and now I’m on my third round of antibiotics. For some reason it just won’t go away completely, but I’m glad that I’m able to walk and talk again.
When you've got a UTI drinking about 6 to Seven cups of water a day stops it from getting worsts soon as a new infection start drinking water Also certain foods makes it worsts like fruit juices spicy foods and other sorts maybe look up on what foods makes it worsts I had a UTi whiles taken my Antibiotics I stopt eating the foods and drinks that would make my UT I worsts. Once I had finish my Antibiotics. I went back to eating and drinking normally even the foods that made it worsts. And found that my UTI had gone completely.

I have been suffering with bladder infections for years and as a 56 year old woman, much of this information is new to me (sad). Thank you, thank you, thank you. I will speak to my doctor about estrogen, get cranberry supplements, and drink more water.
Try adding fermented foods to your diet. They help to get rid of the bad bacteria that causes UTIs. Sauerkraut has helped me alot. I used to get UTIs twice a month & sometimes more. Even without engaging in sexual activity. Also, if you're overweight, you're more likely to contract more often than someone that isn't overweight. No judgements from me. Just giving some info that may help.
Dr. Malik, I found your channel when googling UTIs and TXs! THANK YOU for posting this video! I am a nurse and do all that I can do to avoid UTIs. Thanks for the tip about cranberry supplements. The discussion about the abnormality of the pelvic floor and having family members who are prone to UTIs certainly explains a lot in my case including some of my family members.
I used to get bladder infections often, at least few times a year, and one day i was talking with someone, she is old lady from china, and she told me, she never have bladder infections, i ask her why? she said, wash it immediately after sex, and then I did ! for the last 5 years, i never had bladder infections, not even once! sometimes the old people know the magic, it could be that simple
Thank you. Also......1) reduce stress 2) change water - get filtered or bottled water just to make sure your water supply is not problematic. You may have to go thru a whole series of changes to locate the problems. That's my take. Thanks to the doctor for the excellent video.
Many infections if left untreated can spread and become much more serious problems. Infections can get into your bones and cause osteomyelitis or to your blood and cause sepsis, which can lead to septic shock. When you don't feel well, don't ignore that warning. You could be "sleeping through the smoke detector".
@@stumpythetarantula Ask for a retest and a culture. You can get a false negative fairly easily and if you’re plenty hydrated during the test it can wash out the bacteria enough to not pick up. I have a nasty evasive e.coli strain and because of false negatives and gaslighting, it has sat in my body for long periods and found hidden places. I absolutely believe it’s the cause of my freak lower back and pelvic pain flare ups. The pain also comes with not feeling well, for me it’s obviously more than muscular skeletal but they will try to tell you it is. If your pee smells or slightly burns and is cloudy, that is not normal. My male doc told me to simply drink more water and have a nice day after a few urine tests over the span of time he felt didn’t have enough white blood cells. Didn’t even bother to culture. Even though it had nitrites, which shouldn’t be in pee and comes from bacteria. I’ve been dismissed even in the middle of having a recurring uti with e.coli on culture for 6 months. Sometimes getting antibiotics is a struggle. All at the same hospital. Instead of relying on antibiotics, I’m making several lifestyle changes and if the infection is low grade I’m now trying nasturtium extract, uva ursi, lemon balm, and d- mannose. Need to increase my water as well. This e.coli induced pain is hard to deal with, it’s hard to exist at times. It’s like it’s pain in a space that is hard for even pain medicine to reach. Almost seems like it’s in my nerve, it’s gone to deeper levels for sure. I’m left to my own devices and the best thing was hemp CBD for the inflammation, CV Science brand. Advil too, so much Advil. Sugar is completely off limits as it feeds e. Coli and increases the inflammation. But the idea of it going into my bones doesn’t seem too far fetched I gotta say. Don’t let this go, be polite but be a squeaky wheel and don’t let them turn you away over one urine test. They come up falsely negative all the time, just look at this comment section. Sorry to go on but I hope any of this info is useful!

Candida is what has been causing mine for over 8 years. I was on so many antibiotics for uti and everything else. The antibiotics created the perfect storm for the candida to take over. My bladder is full of yeast so my bladder can’t fight the bacteria the way it should.

I started taking proanthocyanidins (Utiva brand) every day. They're expensive, but I haven't had a UTI in 6 months. I also drink a lot of water every day.
Well, a guy here. As always great information. My wife watched it, we are both 67YOA. As to the cranberry thing. My Urologist told me to drink 6-8 ounces of the pure stuff every day. So I get 3 oz at breakfast mixed with 3oz of apple juice. This is pure cranberry juice, no sugar or additives, and pure apple juice. She also told me to stop drinking orange juice at breakfast. At lunch I get 4oz of pure cranberry juice mixed with 8oz "Joint Juice", 1500 mg Glucosamine & 200mg Chondroitin Sulfate plus 8oz of water. That makes a 20 oz drink. May not drink all at lunch. Will finish off later in the afternoon or at dinner. No UTIs just too much getting up at night. Dr. says I do not have BPH.

I find your videos very informative. I'm a male in my 40s. I'm paraplegic & have an in dwelling catheter. I get frequent recurrent UTI's. I find it hard to drink enough water to keep them at bay. I have heard that D-mannose helps, but I still get them, I recently started developing bladder stones. My doctor has referred me to a urology specialist.
Weird. When I get them, I pee sort of frequently, but my common symptoms are 1. Nausea/dizziness 2. Pain the the lower body, stomach and even legs. I never experience pain when I pee. 🤔
I try and avoid sugary drinks like the plague. Bananas, too much coffee or chocolate also seem to be triggers. I have recently discovered "Wet Ones" without fragrance and that proves helpful after a bowel movement.
Could you make a video about pregnancy and urological symptoms/issues...frequent urination...UTIs...etc? During my first trimester I had some urinary retention issues and had to see an urologist. I tried to strain and cause bladder spams which are the worst pains I have ever felt! I think it’d be so interested for the prego ladies to see what effects pregnancy has on their bladder and kidneys.
Unfortunately I was raised by a single dad with no female family members. I also have IC so a uti and a flare feel the same. I have developed almost a paranoia about UTI as I missed one once and ended up in a hospital psych ward from so much pain and no sleep thinking it was a flare
Oh my God, I can relate and I never believed it! I had one that was missed and it ended up causing me to look like I had a stroke and like I lost my mind and I was going crazy

I really appreciate you making this video I have gone to so many UTI appointments BEGGING them to help me crying in pain consistently buying azo and no one EVER gave me this information just gave me antibiotics and sent me on my way I saw a urologist/gyno and he didnt help me at all I felt like I was making a big deal out of nothing but I know its not because I always am waking up in pain with a uti more than 3x in a month so now that I know this im most definitely bringing this up thank you so much for making this video💝🥺
Here in the UK a doctor will not see you face to face but will fob you off with a telephone consultation in which he will invariably prescribe antibiotics. Last year I ended up being prescribed eight different antibiotics none of which worked. Even insisting on seeing a doctor face to face ended up with - guess what - a ninth prescription of useless antibiotics. Eventually I worked out that it was the metformin that was causing it. My blood sugars had come down to near normal but no doctor suggested I stopped taking it. So I stopped taking it and all the symptoms had gone within two days.
Hygiene is an issue if you wipe from the back to the front. I used to be a nursing assistant and we were trained on how to properly clean female patients. In order to help prevent UTIs, we were supposed to clean from the front to the back.
I'm 72. I am sitting here with another UTI. Krebsiela pneumonia. I was diagnosed on 9/15 and took cefuroxamine axetil. My repeat culture shows I still have Krebsiela pneumonia. Now I'm on amoxicillin claV. I get so many UTI's I'm afraid I'm going to die of one. I drink tons of water. No spermicides or sex for that matter. I don't empty my bladder and my urologist never in all these years mentioned seeing a pelvic floor therapist. I use estradiol 3 times a week. I take a Theracran pill every day that costs $77 a bottle. I thought about seeing a pelvic floor person, but I watched videos on this subject and I'm so old I can't get on the floor. My knees, hips and ankles are shot. I'm so disgusted about the whole subject. Today I drank 2 big big glasses of ACV so far. In July I started Keto and I've omitted all sugar from my diet. In 2,000 I had a hysterectomy and now I have a cystocele. Since my hysterectomy I have hot flashes all day and all night. Probably on another repeat urine culture I'll have to start another prophylaxis antibiotic that I'll get resistant to. I'm ready to crawl under a rock.
My sweetheart gets that same bug recurrent, she was just in the hospital on IV antibiotics and was sent home where I was giving her more IV antibiotics through a pick line for 14 more days. We just found out yesterday she has another UTI. Wishing you the best with your troubles. That is one tough bug.
Also, her Klebsiella pneumoniae is an ESBL (antibiotic resistant), so only a couple of IV antibiotics work. What's sad is she's been on Fosfomycin antibiotics every 10 days to prevent UTI's.
I recommend Ellura to my patients Has 36 mg of proanthrocyanins It’s expensive so some patients take it every other day or three times a week and they double up and take two pills a day if they start getting symptoms and sometimes that seems to avoid a more serious infection (at least anecdotally)
Dr can you please send me a test mail so I can revert you with the problem my dad is going through from last 4 years due to UTI I had gone to many doctors but it's comes again on IV antibiotics 🙏🙏 please help
I feel confident in saying that if more doctors were as good at communication as Dr Malik, I, and I believe more men, would be much less reluctant to go to the doctor.
I tend to hold in my pee sometimes. It’s gotten worse over the past weeks. I go to the bathroom at least 4 times and hour. I’m so uncomfortable and depressed.
Thank you for telling me about the hygiene. I got 2 UTI within 5 months, and everyone around me is tell me is because I didn't shower much. I started taking shower every time after pooping and I'm so tired of it.
I can typically flush mine out by spending a day constantly drinking water and going to the bathroom, but the worst one I had was super stubborn. It eventually got so bad that I thought I had a yeast infection, but when I tried Monistat, I discovered that I'm allergic to it and had an even worse time 😭 Turns out it was just a bad UTI, but the allergic reaction was so painful.
Hello shaya. For yeast infections you can use a coconut oil suppository for several nights or boric acid suppositories several nights. One Is more homeopathic the other isn't so it's preference. I've used both and they work amazingly well.
Your videos are so informative. Could you do a video explaining VUR? I had it as a child and it was incorrectly diagnosed as a stomach virus for 2 years until my mom switched my pediatrician, who caught the problem right away. I ended up with a badly scarred kidney in the end.
I am not a doctor, but I have dealt with UTIs quite a bit and I believe hygiene has a LOT to do with UTI’s. At least for Ecoli. I have e found the cleaner I keep myself, the longer I go without getting them. Also, lots of water does help.
Yeah...recurring UTIs are horrible .. I am almost getting them like periods.. even though I consume plently of water, have D mannose daily .. nothing seems to help... monthly once I get that horrible pain without any burning .. God knows what would be a permanent solution for this ..
I suspect for me it's when I went high carb. I never had UTI's until a certain year when I began eating more starch. After all, starch (no matter if it's from a whole food or a candy bar it converts to sugar). It is a proven fact that sugar lowers you immunity for long periods of time.
I am a man, I've been getting UTIs for YEARS! The past couple of years though it's been worse than ever. I get like ten UTIs a year for these past two years.
@@pmbarro men have a longer urethra and it’s far from the rectum, so getting a UTI isn’t common for men, and even rarer if it’s recurrent. For women, the urethra is shorter and close to the rectum and it’s easier for bacteria from the rectum to make its way to the urethra.
What about just cutting out sugar? My mother is 84 and suffers from chronic reoccurring uti. She is also insulin dependent diabetic. She doesn’t over do the sugar but she does have her sweets and then compensates with insulin. Would it possibly stop the UTI’s if she cut out sugar all together? Has anyone here tried that?
Having an Over Active Bladder (OAB) can cause you to pee more frequently. This is caused by spicy foods and acidic fruits. The symptoms are very similar to a Urinary Tract Infection ( UTI).
I am suffering from pain in bladder , urethera when i drink water ,antibiotics reduced it but not gone completely. Thing that is helping me is Honey 4 tablespoons a day and green tea , i will still go for medication

Can you recommend a cranberry supplement? I’m a 63yr old post menopausal woman. Sex caused mine. My doctor is putting me on an antibiotic to take after sex. I really don’t want to be on an antibiotic that frequently(2-3x a week). I also use estrogen cream. Do you have any other suggestions?
This Dr. has some great tips. My son is a Doctor and I’m always looking for the data to solve my post menopausal recurring UTIs. One Doctor stated a study that said the vast majority of UTIs are caused by EColi bacteria (Well over 80%.) He recommended washing the ‘bridge’ between the front and back really well (the perineum) - after a B.M. Recently I had three UTIs in two months, and now I have none with better hygiene, d-mannose powder and other supplements by the company U Quora. Cranberry juice without sugar also works well for me. Good luck to you all suffering with recurring UTIs - it’s SO miserable but there ARE answers out there. 👍 💕
I am 72 and for the last four years I have be dealing with reoccurring UIT. For the last year, it’s like every month. I also found protein in my iron. In all my life I never had this issue. How can you advise me. The first time I had this condition, my doctor suggested I take multivitamins daily. How can you advise me on this subject? Right now I am suffering.
I have had UTIʻs for years and this was a great resource for remedies. I dont drink any soda as it starts the UTI. I will try that cranberry supplement and estrogen cream. Also, Tried to go your amazon storefront and link is not working
I got e-coli from Romain lettuce, currently on intravenous ertapamen for 30 days. The infection is down a little after half way through. What can I do after treatment and still have it? BTW - you can also get it from undercooked ground beef.
Hello, Thanks for the very informative video @Rena Malik, M.D. I have always gotten frequent UTI's for the past 20 some years. I've had so many tests but really have gotten no answers of why. Now, sometimes even the antibiotics I'm prescribed don't even help. It's really starting to affect my life. I'm looking for the cranberry tablets you've suggested in your video but it's very confusing. If I can find them that list the proanthocyanidins, it doesn't list the 36mg and I'm seeing varying doses. Is there a brand(s) that you would recommend? Thanks you so much!
Try ELLURA. My urologist suggested it. I've been taking it and I did have a UTI. Will continue though since I want to be as proactive as possible to cut down on these miserable UTIs.
I have a spinal cord injury at C3/4 level. Suffer from 4-5 infections per year. Cranberries are positively dangerous for you if your spinal injured and taking cranberries as a supplement….
I do ISC due to complete urinary retention and get a lot of UTI i see a urologist. I’m fed up with the amount of infections and I do everything carefully.
Just do a simple clean water fast until you have no more symptoms for me usually 16 to 18 hours if it's really a stubborn case 2 to 3 days, same for kidney infection.
I just listened to another doc OB/GYN who said cranberries are a myth & studies have shown they have absolutely no benefit ... blah blah blah. Oh my golly forgot her name; she was on that sweet TV hosts show. Will go look it up.
Hey, please share my comment with people that are struggling with recurring UTIs problems. I was in pain for 4 years, going to 30 different doctors that could not find a cause of my problem and painful bladder especially the day after intercourse. Doctors were trying to cure me with antibiotics. I was in massive pain for years until I found youtube video it was something about "how to release tension of the pelvic floor muscles". Pain is gone. Please share with people that struggle
Because of my medical situation my GP and urologist have both said that "there's always going to be some bacteria". Then I asked them, "what's the difference between having some bacteria and having a UTI?" Their answer is that basically it comes down to whether or not I have symptoms of an infection. Is is there a better way to differentiate between "some bacteria" and a UTI?
Start drinking a cup of soy milk daily to raise your estrogen levels. Vanilla Silk Soy taste good. Also a couple of hours later drink a cup of organic cranberry juice. Drink plenty of water. Do kegel exercises. Wipe yourself after using the restroom front to back to avoid getting something in there. Put some antibacterial soap on the toilet paper. Some people said D-mannose helped them.
Thanks doctor for the vidio. My son is 8yr but he gets severe pain when urinating and at times blokage of the urinary trct. doctors said he has bladder infection but the problem is recurrying
Hey Dr. I was told I have H. pylori in my stool and E. Coli in my urinary tract and they want me to take Levofloxacin but that antibiotic causes liver failure. I never picked it up! I’ve also been having foamy urine for a year now but no protein was found in my urine culture. I also did an Kidney ultrasound and it was normal. Now They Want Me To Get Doxycycline Monohydrate but that’s for skin infections in which I don’t have. I have had terrible luck with doctors and I’m hesitant. What should I do? On Sunday I had burning sensation while urinating a minor blood but that went away on its own yesterday and pain on my right leg under my calf. I’m only 33 years old! What do you suggest I take? God bless you
Never ever take ciprofloxacine its very dangerous. Checkout here on UA-cam ciprofloxacine and muscle tear and achillesheel rupture!!!!!!!. For bladder infection heres a secret no one knows. Japanese knotweed tincture high dose . Try it it works.
Thank you for this video!! For the past week I’m sure I had an uti I had pain when peeing and feeling the need to go toilet often and lower abdominal pain.. got a 3 days course of antibiotics and it went away.. two days later and it’s back but now I only have pain when peeing, I’ve noticed that the more water I drink the less it hurts but still it makes me scared to go pee in case it’s gonna hurt “this time” .. now I’m getting really worried and scared 😔😔
don’t worry you’re not alone i get a bit nervous to pee as well and that’s because i’ve had some irritation skins in the past, sensitive skins and rashes (especially after being on my period) but thankfully i have some protective pads that don’t irritate my skin so much or give me a rash and i went to the doctor a few months ago for a physical appointment and my doctor gave me suggestions of what i can use to stop my vagina from being irritated which are summer’s eves wipes and diaper rash cream and i feel like the diaper rash cream has been helping my vagina not sting a lot when i go to the bathroom and it helps me feel less nervous but the only have i’ve had a urine infection was when i was little but thankfully i don’t remember anything about it or how it felt and i never wanna experience another urine infection when i’m older cause i bet it’s the most painful thing 😖😖😖😖
I had an UTI for the longest time and on every urine culture it always comes back so idk what else to do. They always give me the same antibiotics that works for a couple of days before it comes back.
Greetings Dr. Malik! What about men with UTI? My Dr. prescribed an antibiotic for a UTI that was found following a Rezum procedure for BPH. After taking the medication for seven (7) days, I have noticed that painful urination has returned, is it possible that the antibiotic has not completely knocked out the bacteria that was the cause of the UTI and in now, once again multiplying? Please let me know if you have any free time, thank you! Thank you for posting this video! Please have an excellent and awesome day! 🙂

I'm a guy that had UTI 3 months ago and at 1st was given CIPROFLOXACIN HCL (Antibiotic), after the weekend, I found out the Doctor wanted my (Antibiotic) to be from VANCOMYCIN HCL. These Antibiotics made things worse. I got aching pain in my Torso, waist, itching and Irritable Bowl Syndrome. Constipation with incontinence with mucus. It felt like my Gallbladder went crazy. I got a very bad dry mouth. Antibiotics was making it worse and I didn't finish them. I got me Probiotics, Magnesium, an enzyme digest supplement after that that made my IBS get better in the last 3 months. I have UTI now again. Going to see a Doctor soon. But? What is going on?
I love how I learn more about how to take care of my body from the internet and not from paying actual money to go see a doctor
RIGHT!❤❤
YOU ARE SO RIGHT!
Wow. Great video. I asked a doctor how I had gotten a UTI. I wanted to find some way of prevention. He said, "Poor hygiene." Nice.
So taking a shower every day is it good enough.

How do you take the D-MANNOS? How many and how often?
did you use d mannose daily?
In my case the tests came back negative for bacteria. However, the D-Mannose I was taking worked. The urologist refused to accept this and recommended surgery, so I dropped him. I use buchu extract as well as powdered D Mannose, which has done wonders. Not completely better since I have some anatomical abnormalities, but the discomfort is at a tolerable level, and no bleeding or discharge anymore.
@@jcord0013 do you use the d-mannose daily
d manose is not working for me even when I use it more tham recommended dose is.

Hygiene absolutely can cause infections. You're going against medical advice here.

When you've got a UTI drinking about 6 to Seven cups of water a day stops it from getting worsts soon as a new infection start drinking water
Also certain foods makes it worsts like fruit juices spicy foods and other sorts maybe look up on what foods makes it worsts
I had a UTi whiles taken my Antibiotics I stopt eating the foods and drinks that would make my UT I worsts. Once I had finish my Antibiotics. I went back to eating and drinking normally even the foods that made it worsts. And found that my UTI had gone completely.
I'm glad you was able to find the cause and feel better now

I have been suffering with bladder infections for years and as a 56 year old woman, much of this information is new to me (sad). Thank you, thank you, thank you. I will speak to my doctor about estrogen, get cranberry supplements, and drink more water.
You're welcome!
Are you ok?
This is true! I always take a thorough body shower after sex and drink lots of water to flush out any bacteria. No more UTIs
How do you explain people who abstain from sex & still get uti's sometimes alot?!
@@lynne3989I’ve read online wiping back to front can also cause UTI. It can be because of a bacteria from poo getting into the urethra
Thank you. Also......1) reduce stress 2) change water - get filtered or bottled water just to make sure your water supply is not problematic. You may have to go thru a whole series of changes to locate the problems. That's my take. Thanks to the doctor for the excellent video.
stop eating sugar is one pf the best, the food can hurt but also heal it depends on what we eat and drink
Many infections if left untreated can spread and become much more serious problems. Infections can get into your bones and cause osteomyelitis or to your blood and cause sepsis, which can lead to septic shock.
When you don't feel well, don't ignore that warning. You could be "sleeping through the smoke detector".
Urine results came back negative and doc basically told me it was in my head
@@stumpythetarantula
Ask for a retest and a culture.
I have had mine for 3 months now and been prescribed 3 different antibiotics and I still have it.
Yikes that sounds awful!! :/ have you gotten your hormone or thyroid checked?

If you’re in menopause you need vaginal estrogen. You insert it. It will prevent uti’s. You will see the difference quickly.

Candida is what has been causing mine for over 8 years. I was on so many antibiotics for uti and everything else. The antibiotics created the perfect storm for the candida to take over. My bladder is full of yeast so my bladder can’t fight the bacteria the way it should.

10 years with UTI.
It never left? What do you do to cope with it- gotta be so hard for you! 😮
ITts always good to wipe in that direction but the data doesn't suggest that it makes a difference for UTI rates.
@@RenaMalikMD Really? That's good to know.
Even if I wasn’t a doctor or had a UTI... I would never wipe back to front
I recommend Ellura to my patients
Has 36 mg of proanthrocyanins
It’s expensive so some patients take it every other day or three times a week and they double up and take two pills a day if they start getting symptoms and sometimes that seems to avoid a more serious infection (at least anecdotally)
Ya it burns like hell no thanks

I just want to be clear you stated that it doesn't matter if you wipe "back to front"? Can you please give further clarification on this?

Thank you for telling me about the hygiene. I got 2 UTI within 5 months, and everyone around me is tell me is because I didn't shower much. I started taking shower every time after pooping and I'm so tired of it.
I can typically flush mine out by spending a day constantly drinking water and going to the bathroom, but the worst one I had was super stubborn. It eventually got so bad that I thought I had a yeast infection, but when I tried Monistat, I discovered that I'm allergic to it and had an even worse time 😭 Turns out it was just a bad UTI, but the allergic reaction was so painful.

I suspect for me it's when I went high carb. I never had UTI's until a certain year when I began eating more starch. After all, starch (no matter if it's from a whole food or a candy bar it converts to sugar). It is a proven fact that sugar lowers you immunity for long periods of time.

@@pmbarro men have a longer urethra and it’s far from the rectum, so getting a UTI isn’t common for men, and even rarer if it’s recurrent.

Yogurt, cranberry juice ,plenty of water ,proper cleaning and exercise
I Thank you and my wife thanks you Dr Malik
Dr. Malik I am a breast cancer survivor so I can use the estrogen since my cancer was hormonal. What is an alternative to estrogen cream
I don't agree about cleaning yourself, asides from that; good advice.
From past two years & recurring got utine culture antibiotics but nothing works for long
I was so lucky to get cured permanently from HICH RISK HPV by *MR OBALAR* on UA-cam.
Great video. Is there a certain lubrication that I can used. I had changed mines several time. Thanks
Oops! Forget to say thank you for your great videos❗💖🚑
I had an UTI for the longest time and on every urine culture it always comes back so idk what else to do. They always give me the same antibiotics that works for a couple of days before it comes back.
Me too! Ugggg.
This is great information but this informative video would be more informative for women who suffer from PCOS the insulin resistant type...

I had the itching from that same antibiotic
