Thanks for the super video! I opened my technica CD player and the problem was with the cd platter, I just put like 4 plastic washers so that it wouldn't fall down and needed adjusting again. For now it works again. And looking on the inside of these CD players they're not that complicated so if you're wondering if you're gonna be able to find the solutions by opening it, there is probably a 70% of finding the solutions within. I would call myself a beginner to intermediate in knowledge in electronics knowledge. If you're just a bit unsure just taking it slow is better, could take 30 minutes to days depending on how careful you want to be. If you're gonna throw it away anyways just use it as a training in diagnosing electronic.
Thanks for the advice, if I don't watch your video I would buy another one, although mine got a little broke in upper cabinet, but it doesn't matter, cosmetically it's not distracting and more importantly it's Working! (Model: Sony D-EJ365)
Thanks for the video. Adjusting the potentiometer worked worked on my Aiwa boombox. I had to use needle nose pliers on the potentiometer, because the screwdriver didn't turn it.
I opened the disk thinking there's no way this would work for me, it actually did and funny enough i turned the pot clockwise it worked but then battery died so quickly so i put it back and it worked fine, well thanks sir for this lazer diode juice trick

Hi, thanks for putting this video up. I have an aiwa portable video cd player with a small screen from ages ago. I used to use it a lot back then but it hasn't been used in over 15 years. It's switching on but the disc doesn't rotate and it keeps showing a no disc message. I was wondering if you could take a look at it. Hoping to hear from you. Thanks.
This really helped me trouble shoot, there is a piece that is broken away from its mount, it looks like one of those fat little tubes… can that be replaced?
it seems that on my thomson cd player the potentiometer is not accessible. but I'm a beginner so chances are I'm just not finding. Any hints? There's only screws holding the pieces together it seems.
I have a Philip DBB portable CD player. I accidentally used 6v than it required which is 4.5v and it got very hot I turn it off right away. The sceen still turn on but just keep saying no disc. Do you think I burnt the laser part or I could actually fix it? Thank you!

Georges MILLION no. U adjust it to increase the current. If u put it back Itll just go back to not working. If you buy a new part it will come preadjusted.
I have a venturer cd / radio discman that I just picked up. The radio works fine the sound sis surprisingly really good. But when I change the switch from radio to cd and press play the display comes on for literally one second then it turns off and nothing happens. Disc doesn’t spin. Any suggestions what it could be ?
@@claudiart1633 Bueno, tenes que abrirlo con cuidado recordando donde va todo para volver a armarlo. Y jugar muy delicadamente con el tornillito (minuto 3:40) y ahi intentar que lea el cd, si no funca intentas de nuevo un poquito mas, para el lado que va el reloj. Claro que puede ser otro el problema pero a mi me funciono este video con 2 reproductores diskman. Suerte y despues contame. Paciencia que en una de esas arranca.
Hey there. My Sony D-Sj01 reads no disk and looks like the lense housing keeps sliding inwards and makes 3 rapid clicks every couple seconds as it hits the ledge. The Discman is in pristine condition otherwise. Im stuck! Literally lol
IPA is not the best to use on a pot, even though it may appear to "fix" the issue. Crappy grades less than 90%+ leave not only films, but also strip away any potential lubrication left in them which in turn causes scratching over time.

Yes - Talk CD. It bottoms out my subwoofer easily.

I've tried this it worked but then when I ressemble the case, the problem was back, and the potentiometer did nothing, did anybody known why ?
