Thnx a lot @japcast, this is a great video and helped me a lot with my BeoSound 9000! By the way, are you (also) Dutchman? I used your instruction to also clean my lense (top & bottom) and mirror. And after cleaning I put everything back. Testing with a CD unfortunately showed it still does not start spinning the CD. In TestMode #27 there is now only one error: ‘1 CD ERR 2 = Focus error, it has not been possible to find focus’. What do you recommend me to do?
The back side dust on the lens as where the video is about is not a real common issue. Please try cleaning the top of the lens first. The height of the spindle could be an issue and cause focus offset problems. I believe the potentiometer on the laser assembly adjusts the laser power. If this needs adjustment, the laser is worn out anyway. Please refer to service manual and follow adjustment procedure.
Today checked my Marantz player. Cleaned the lens and saw the magnet was oxidized and the shiny nickel coating was loose and in pieces. The parts blocked het lens . No movement. I ordered a new vam1201 lenspart.
Just saved my Beosound 9000 thanks to you !! No need to change the full laser kit, just clean up
Hello , was this the Beosound 9000 Mk1 2 or 3?
Huge thank you. This saved my Beosound Century. Cleaning the backside of the lens and the mirror made the CDM 12.4 work again.

No need here. This device does not contain CMOS.
