The Avata 1 felt like it was designed by a different company. Avata 2 is definitely more DJI Mavic like.

Hi, Eddie.
I did a test in the wind probably with gusts up to 15 mph. Not huge, but where I am I been getting nothing but stupid wind.
Anyways, I did both with the motion controller since I wanted this to be fair. Avata 1 flew not so well to say the least. It had a difficult time flying and my max speed with the wind was about 32 mph. The Avata 2 I did it and it took off so much better. The wind was giving it trouble, but it handled it so much better in S mode I had a max speed of 38 mph with the wind!
I don't really fly my OG Avata much at all for a while, because weather here has straight up sucked to say the least. Now with the new Avata 2 I am going to use this so much more it isn't even funny! Sorry for my frustrations the other day with my new Avata 2. I enjoy your channel and thanks for the content!
Awesome to hear. I also noticed the avata 2 does better in higher winds, due to the new frame design, stronger motors and no more pusher style.

Thx Eddie, for me the biggest issue is back compatibility.
Despite a great experiance of flying Avata 2, FPV is a long-term relation and what do we get:
O3 Air Unit is so fresh and not compatible with new goggles and RC - so dissapointing. Also Avata 2 does not work with previous generation of RC and Goggles - that is a huge bummer…
I think backwards compatibility will be here soon
Dont buy Avata 2 for manual flight in EU because limit C1 speed for 19 m/s, you can only unlock FCC signal in EU :(( Avata 1 is much faster ;)
Great comparison, the Avata has a much better camera. And even besides the camera, the Avata 2 is much better in almost every way. Thank for sharing Eddie.

Does the Avata 2 have a 'follow' mode? Where you can ride a bike, and have it follow you? My old mavic air could do it... can't find any information on whether or not the Avata 2 can.

After adding a couple foam pieces at the end of the rubber cushions on the inside and using a little double sided tape. I am really liking the Goggles 3 so much more. Not smearing up the glasses now. (Do wish DJI included lens protectors for storage) The pressure of the goggles is spread a little ore evenly and they feel far more comfortable.
The screen is actually nicer than the Goggles 2. Not sure why? I was honestly hating this setup so much at the start. The drone I love! So much better than the Avata 2.

Great Video MREDDIENUNEZ I am ready to pull the trigger on this drone. This will be my first FPV drone. What do you think…… should I pull the trigger. Should I also buy the FPV controller 3 or just learn with RC motion 3 ?
I think you can start with the motion controller but will eventually graduate to the FPV controller. Congrats!!!
Ok I decided to pull the trigger on the the FPV Controller from B&H Camera and the Avata from Amazon. 👍🏽 I will be leaving for Hawaii in 2-weeks and will bring the Avata 2 Mini 4 Pro and the Air 3 along with me. 👍🏽

Buy some 1/8' foam with the sticky side for this drone. It will help so much protecting it from direct damage. Hopefully soon Ken Dobo will have some sweet new "Rib for your pleasure riders" for your drone soon.

I don't think the passthrough cameras on the Goggles 3 count as providing legal VLOS... in fact I'm sure they don't

Ahh yes, Remote ID. The reason I won't buy a drone, just build them from now on. I will not comply. I still have a few older drones, not 'updating' them to comply either. My safety is more important than what the FAA was forced to put into law by the companies that purchased them.
