Wow, what a beautiful ride! I said it before and I'll say it again, you make gravel look like so much fun Todd. I think this would also be a good video for folks you want to watching something while on the trainer. So was this a race or just a fun group ride? How many miles did you cover?
Thanks man! Truly appreciate that coming from you. It's more of an organized ride, where a lot of the proceeds go to local charities and orgs (PA IMBA etc). It was my wife and sister-in-law's first time doing it, so we did the shorter 34 mile option (still their longest rides to date) totaling about 2500 ft. It's not timed, and you can roll out any time between 8-930. Definitely recommend. It's a few minutes from Longwood Gardens.
So did you get a new tire on in time or risk the bacon strip?
Haha, the bacon strip was holding strong, but I ended up putting a new rear tire on a week before the race. I didn't want to chance it.

Tire recommendation for this course?
There's a LOT of road. You can get away with any type of tire, but I wouldn't go thinner than 32mm.
You doing the Fall ride?

Nice. Should be fine. If you change to gravel tires, I recommend the Pirelli Cinturato Gravel H"s I'm currently running. Fast tire. Also, take the lines I took on a few of those descents. There are a few potholes.
