The whole series is an underrated gem, right up there with Phantasy Star, Suikoden, and Grandia. While this game is a tad too silly at times, I eventually grew to like it. Plus Shania is top tier waifu material.
@@DeepenedDelusion Agreed, I really hope it gets a remake. Hopefully they’ll make it less silly when they do. I believe more people would want to play it then.
Right the theme with tribal drum banging then they say fuck it get freaky with the violins and female vocals with every percussion instrument they had. Someone was tryna pay rent that day lol
The trial spirit battles were always a highlight. A tribal Warrior princess faces off against a divine spirit where if she loses its all over for her and her purpose pretty much. Really quick like 2 minute long battles. They could have beefed up the HP. The fourth Tirawa with Jonny was amazing at the Sun Alter. He fought by her side in his Awaker uh Awakener I think. The CGI scenes where she accepts the pact were heat. I love this type of shit
Because this Japanese game was dubbed in New York, it had many of the 4Kids VAs, including Sean Schemmel (still Adult Goku and King Kai for the FUNimation dubs of the Dragon Ball franchise).
Wow the video quality is really good. I'm playing this game on my ps2 w/ component cables on a 60" plasma tv and it probably only looks half as good as this video.
I love the original, was just playing Covenant last night, but never picked up From the New World. Is the plot story for this one even related to the first 2, or Koudelka?
No, this is the least favorite of the series and is pretty much a standalone game with little connection to the previous story. There were some referrences to the prequels but theres no connection compared to the direct sequel story wise. This is just a ''Shadow Heart'' game with a 3 slapped on and the series ended with SH2.
@@BuffMaister Ah, OK. Thanks for your reply. That really helps a lot to decide whether to add it to my video game collection or not. I did notice in your video that Roger Bacon looks just like he does in Covenant.
Yeah, it continued to use the series game gameplay mechanics. I think Roger Bacon was just a living corpse and didn't age by appearance that much, or the timeline wasn't that big of a jump from the series. Well, Shadow Hearts 3 is fine, it offers the same gameplay mechanics, if you enjoyed 1/2 you will like 3 as well. It's just that they shifted the characters into more cartoon like while they also changed the atmosphere graphics. The series had a more dark horrorish atmosphere, that's not really present in SH3. It's worth a try, it all depends if you can accept the story for how it is.
@@BuffMaisterpersonally Covenant was fantastic but I always look this up More it just had a rather simple but still engaging story Loved Shanias plot line So thirsty for vengeance that when she got the kiss of malice she was moving and thinking a mile a minute. And then in the end…she conquered her boon or hex with a curse of losing her sanity in the end
Who Mao? He would prob drink gin (sorry she I forget with that deep as voice) and whisky and tell you about times where she fucked up the Italian mafia in a back alley and then would have to get stuck with a tranquilizer gun
Wow I forgot just how terrible the voice for Roger Bacon was in this game..... and just how screwed up the plot is, at least there was an actual plot to the first two Shadow Hearts games
I mean the characters are a bit ummm irrelevant unlike part 2 but even then the creepy geezer marionette and the hulk of a wrestler Lucia who was dumber than a sack of bricks Anastasia who was tbh low key funny she loved that Asian guy (yes from Japan) so much the crush was comical the wolf was cool and Karin really shined. Apparently she’s Yuris mother and he never realizes it but uhhh how old is she and the fact that they have so much romantic innuendo was like ohhhhh didn’t know you were my mom. And who else did I forget ehhh can’t remember but the story was quite long divided in TWO discs with disc one being all of Europe and disc 2 Japan. Also Yuri was sick “bite me” his catch phrase oh and when they showed his disc two intro art which the jacket open while shirtless with him smiling( I’m like oh….lmao) but I think he’s meant to be depicted as an attractive asshole that gives no fucks about your feelings. The villains were def better Rasputin in Russia Veronica who was just….too much and why was she butt naked in his bed in that scene!?!? Anyway that priest that turned into Azathoth or whatever was lit I mean that soundtrack went hard. However part 2 is the easiest you can break the game with only 1 of Yuris fusions with 1. Energy charge A key or whatever for more hits Buffed And attack for colossal damage in a four way chain. It tears up everything also Part 2 had like 50 fusions with all different levels I thought it was excessive since battles are never that long. However I appreciated a lot of the mythology and representation (The one that looked like Joker from Batman was wild Yuri is amazing) the combat system was at its best round 3 for sure.
Such an underrated game. It sucks that people hated it that much lol
The gameplay is absolutely fun

18:50 is the best part of the game. LULZ
That was the exact scene I was searching for...lol Thanks!! (Can't help but think that everytime now, haha)

The nostalgia

Memories
CN.TSUKAIMA
SHANIA(SHADOW HEARTS 3) vs. KORRA(AVATAR LEGEND OF KORRA)
FOR SUPER POWER BEAT DOWN BATTLE.
Tough to say, the game does not show her limits. The question is if Shania can reach Korra for a close quarter fight where she is definately superior.

Doesn't matter what cables or TV you use, this is PC emulation on pcsx2 emulator.
Ahh that explains it
Yeah I play this game on ps2 with 4K tv and it still looks bad
Thank you!
