this stuff works great but one thing to consider is that mineral oil, is petroleum based oil. petroleum based oils can apparently kill your primers but I haven't had this issue yet. I guess in this case less is more. Great video👍

Thanks for the info, a lot of people say not to do this because it's petroleum base and kills primers but this works perfect for me. I'm reloading with the Lee classic loader in 9mm and use this to resize all the cases then wash them in cheap 71% alcohol afterwords in a bag and they come out clean and dry out with no oil residue left on them. Thanks again you saved me some money.

I used 12 Oz of Heet (91% alcohol Standing by!) Mixed with 3 Oz Mineral Oil. Put 160, of several thousand, 223 rounds in Gallon zip lock bag, a few sprays. mixed up well. Left out on a towel to dry. Seems to work well, no problems loading in progressive loader. As good as any other lube I have used. (Didn't use the 91% alcohol) All items bought at WalMart

I have been using MO and heet (red bottle) for many many years with GREAT RESULTS...i put 1oz mineral oil to 1 bottle heat 12oz mix it up well in a GOOD SPRAY BOTTLE... not a cheapy one....i have never stuck a case it works great for me..thanks for posting your findings

It's possible to separate water from rubbing alcohol with NON IODIZED salt. Pour in a 1/4 cup f salt, shake it up, let the water/salt mix settle and pour/siphon it out.

I've been using mineral oil for about a year. I use a 3 to 12 mix. I get my alcohol from my race fuel. It is 100% methanol. Cost of $6-$19 a gallon right now depending on where you buy it. Thank you for the upload
JC Glessner Methanol is poisonos. Be very carefull. Also the more carbon an alcohol has the easier it will be for it to dissolve the oil. So methanol is the least appropriate but if it works for you than great.
Just tried this method -- I think 1/3-1/2 the force required on my press between using this lube and nothing! Works Great! I also think the ratio is high on the oil -- I think I'll dilute mine.

I found your video informative and since I hade all the ingredients on hand I played around with it. The main reason 99% alcohol is better is it is only 1% water, but 91% works well too but you need a bit longer time for it to flash off. Also I didn't want to pay to ship lanolin I had mineral oil from a mini compressor I revamped for my airbrush compressor so I tried it. I found the ratio of one ounce mineral oil to 12 ounces alcohol worked best. It gave just enough slickness for my die without too much oil, since it is petroleum based as one other poster stated. I think the best application would be to lay out your brass on a flat surface and spray only the body of casings avoiding the primer pockets and inside neck, then you could use a dab of paste like lube from Lee in the neck if you want. Todd Gamel are you using a carbide sizer on your 9mm you shouldn't need lube if you use one. I purchased a Lee carbide years ago and they have a life time warranty. I use my old sizer to crimp my case necks.
Best lube and cheapest I've found is non stick cooking spray ,not pam, even cheaper no name dollar store stuff goes on thin, is biodegradable , edible , and makes your shot ammo smell like french fries . Easy to clean , and won't kill primers . I use just a very quick spray and mix cases around . Feels like nothing going in or out of the dies . I've used this on 10s of thousands of cases .223 308 3006 7mm 243 . I check my dies regularly every 1000 rounds or so and found no buildup, minor carbon fouling it's like the carbon has nothing to stick to , I also wet tumble as well before and after resizing . Never go back to anything else
If you dont clean before you prime it will kill them yes. That is exactly why you need a can of this oil by law in any reloading shope here. If a primer is a dud you must kill it with oil before discarding.

Best and cheapest case lube I have found is Dollar Store spray furniture polish. Buck a can and works great. Not my idea , actually saw it on a u tube vid. Loaded 200 30/30 cases, no problems.

I used lanolin for a few years its getting harder to find and now it's doubled in price $19 for 4 oz. To neutralize the lanolin when I'm wet tumbling I add woolite to my liquid mix to remove the lanolin lube from the cases. I'm going to try your mineral oil recommendation however what do you use to neutralize it when your wet tumbling keep my pins clean I'm doing brass on a large scale.

I did try, but the mineral oil will not mix with the kind of alcohol I used. Could you be more specific on the alcohol you suggested? May be you can post the composition label. On the other end mineral oil mix great with turpentine.
Which alcohole did you use? Was is propanol or higher up the chart? Metanol also wont work and youll have difficulties with ethanol. The higher the workd the better (met et prop but pent hex hept okt non dek)
hows the cleaning of this ? I has seen a lot of people are dry tumbling after re sizing...Im only have a wet tumbler so do you just use Dawn and hot water to clean off?
I add just about a 9mm case full (good sized pinch between my fingers) of citric acid crystals along with the Dawn. They sell it at winemaking supply houses cheap. Some people use lemi-shine for automatic dishwashers.

67dodgepolara yes I think that coconut oil or canola would work well for a case lube, the roll on case lube is like Parker o-ring grease and silicone based. You wouldn't want to use a petroleum base oil or grease because these will kill a small arms primer even in small quantities. I remember that LAPD had an officer killed because they used wd40 to shine there pistols before their shift just a wipe down with an old tee shirt and a bit of wd40. I seal all my primers with nail polish to protect from oil contamination..
Many firearm lubricants have petroleum base oils, the thing that makes WD40 so problematic is that it is also a penetrating oil which allows it to seep through the smallest of openings to wet the powder and primers. Mineral oil by itself is not a penetrating oil and GunBlue490 has a video claiming he has used straight mineral oil for many years to lubricate his firearms so I think if it could easily kill primers him or someone else using it as a gun oil or for a case lube would have noticed it by now.
Any liquid will kill a primer if it gets to it in sufficient quantity. As far as killing primers in fully loaded cartridges I have read that many soldiers were killed by using WD40 on their weapons because it slowly penetrated the primers and rendered them inert, but it is a penetrating oil. Most gun oils are made of oils and don't cause any problems with primers because they aren't penetrating oils. So avoid penetrating oils, handling primers with wet hands be it oil or any other fluid, and make sure your cases are as dry as possible on the inside when loading them and you should be fine.
I will try it out. I think you deserve a big thumbs up for thinking outside the box and doing your own research. Big thumbs up from Canada.

I got some of this today and 12 oz of iso-heet. Wow. Works a hell of alot better than Hornady One shot lube.

FYI while lanolin is safe the mineral oil is basically a petroleum these are know to kill primers so I would recommend that you be very careful.

So far so good. I've loaded 9mm on up to 338 lapua mag with no issues.

ill be damned i bought some 2 dollar furniture polish and sized a few hundred 223 brass with it. worked great!

clay mcwilliams tumble it after sizing and prep, then you will have no worries about your primers

You leave the "Old" primers in when you use the lube.
Why does case lube need alcohol??
The alcohol is a carrier for the oil. It keeps the oil layer very thin because very little is needed.
