i needed this as an ex mormon. watching it while my family is at church
Lol same
🤣🤣🤣
f*ck em
Same lololol
same today 😭😭
Befriended a Mormon in college who ended up leaving the faith. I’ll never forget our first semester together; he went absolutely buck wild on soda because he’d literally never had it (was homeschooled and all of his childhood friends were also Mormon). Mans got SIX cavities our freshman year! Had no self-control whatsoever! Never took to alcohol, but give this guy some Diet Pepsi, and he’d down the whole case in two days. 💀
IM SORRY WHAT LMAOOOO??? im mormon (LDS) and his family must have literally been insane bc how do u literally go without drinking soda ever until college? ive literally had red bull and stuff... pretty much every person in my ward and just anyone ik in general that is in church has had soda (regularly, unless just on a diet), caffeine, etc.
A lot of really Orthodox members don’t allow caffeine (ie: soda)
@@kpzilg that's the thing is only certain sodas have caffeine (i.e., coke), but other than that, they dont. but even still, literally ever member ive ever known, including myself, drinks coke and other sodas soooooo...
@@kpzilg sorry for the second response, but its to the point whenever there are events like a Christmas celebration or trunk-or-treat or stuff like that, even the bishop and everyone else brings soda
@@Super-mr4yn agree most members I know drink soda and coke. But I have family that live in rural Utah and they are very orthodox and most people around them don’t drink soda or coke. I don’t think the church has ever took a position on caffeine. I think apostles like Spencer W Kimball have just warned people about the potential habit forming effects that caffeine can have.
I would like to see a regular series of these "ex-insert religion here" Truth or Drink episodes.
Saaaame
as an exmuslim i would love to see former muslims do it but i know that the comments would not be as supportive as this videos’
THIS
ex-evangelical
Especially for those religions that shame you for trying to leave and encourage reproduction to expand their presence
“I like missionary sometimes but I hate Mormons all the time” SHES SO FUNNY IM DEAD
Missionary is nice! You get to look at your partner, you can both touch each other, you can kiss, it’s got a lot going for it.
You guys should do this with ex-Scientologists!
Good luck finding them - the “church” probably had them killed.
Too risky
Ex amish
I WOULD DIE
@@looloolilly so would they
They do say the gateway drug to gayness is Frappuccinos 😂
That had me dead 💀 😂
Haha Thx babes :D
Wheezing
Frottaccinos ☕️
I laughed so hard 😂😂
The fact 6:30 recited the whole origin story and pointed out the racism within that he never saw as a child. That’s growth.
It really was one of the most hard to accept parts of the faith.
@@bobbyhigley8777I never knew about them until my son told me they don’t like brown skin. By the way i have olive skin so….
Soaking to this day is funny AF to me. Imagine a whole group of kids at BYU jumping on a bed while Micah & Allison are SOAKING. 😂
Soaking is probably more of a myth than a reality. Most active mormons would be scared to get anywhere close to nudity and would feel guilty for weeks if they kissed with their tongues or rubbed their bodies together (fully clothed). Has is happened? Probably. Is it common? no chance.
@@scottvance74 it’s absolutely not a myth. I know a lot of Mormons and at least some of them have done that.
Jebediah and Eliza

I used to hang with Mormons and they basically do everything but the actual act of sex. Like why even bother. You're basically doing it already.
Oh my Lord what a spicy premise. When I sat down on my toilet and pulled out my phone I did not expect to find such a treat today lol.
same though 😂
😂😂😂
Literally me right now
Now I have to poop. Thankx!
you are so real for this comment lol
I'm an ex jehovas witness... and I could semi relate to this. Growing up I had such high expectations. It was a sad life tbh. But I'm 30 and lived a happy life since I left 😊
Someone who understands 😭 watching this surprised me
Great Idea: When you have / if you have kids (nieces or nephews) ... take them to JW houses you know of, and knock on their door on Hallowe'en night. 🤣
What high expectations you had. Doing the right things 🤔🤔🤔
Ex JW here too. I didn’t leave until I was 34. Talk about a whole new world 😂 I’m 37 now. It’s been a huge adjustment but it’s been the best thing I ever did for myself and my little family 🥰
Ex Jehovahs witness here. So much of what they said for expectations and racsism and misogyny hits. Left in my 20s, now 30 best decision of my life. Just got to have my first Christmas with family who left this year, and it was my first Halloween party I threw. So liberating.
dude with the long hair was so charming!! you can tell he's the freshest to leave the church because he's the most wholesome, i wish him luck through his "corruption" (learning to follow his inner knowing)
As an ex-evangelical a lot of what this group talked about resonated. So happy to see that everyone seems to be on a healing journey that leads to more openness and authentic love!
So many high demand religions are super similar.
@@kpzilg they've only been so successful because in the past they killed anyone who disagrees
evangelical?? wow reallyyy. I grew up going to a evangelical church at first but almost nothing in this episode resonated with me. In what ways did it resonate with you?
same. southern baptist preacher for a dad. but he & my mother also left the church and are now incredibly progressive and understand that they can maintain a relationship with god outside of the toxic environment of organized religion.
Ex-Mormon here! Proud to be out of that shit
proud of you for escaping
@@rascal_rae this is honestly disgusting that u would say this. the church does not force u to abide by certain laws bc we literally preach freedom and choice. escaping is an awful word to say bc u treat the church like a cult--theres nothing culty about the church, and ur probably confusing it with the FLDS which is the psycho knockoff mormon group whose prophet went to prison for child sexual abuse charges. u can formulate ur own experience in the church, and u can put as little effort into showing up as u want. thats been my experience and I love the church, and im also not trying to disregard the fact that there probably are ppl who have had actual serious issues with ppl in the church, just like any other church. but most ppl just say this stuff simply bc they want to drink, smoke, etc., and do things that a lot of ppl do. u can do that if u want, but its obviously just not the norm. u have the freedom to do what u want
happy for you!!
Sameeeee
Hey, I have a question. (You don’t have to answer it!) Is it true that they still practice polygamy, and… do you know warren jeffs (I watch to much Netflix, I’m sorry)🙈
Ah yes, a frappuccino... the gayteway drug ✨
Hahahah thx
I went backwards, pretty sure I s'd a d before I had a frap....
“I thought it was an infection” this persons hilarious 😂😂😂
Well I am a standup comic :P
as an exmo this is incredibly cathartic. Only those who've lived this experience can truly understand how completely mind-fuccy it all is
YEPPPP
It seriously messes you up ! I just started therapy after leaving 7 years ago and I cannot believe how much it messed me up. I was only in the church until I was 13 so I can’t imagine the trauma of being in it even longer.
I’m a college student trying to leave the church and I loved every second of this. The Mormon church is a terrible church
Mormon stories UA-cam channel is another great resource for support leaving the church. Good luck!
I listen to Mormon stories too! A good listen on a road trip or commutes 😇
Do ex-Muslims next!
bruh the church is literally amazing. u can formulate ur own experience in the church, and u can put as little effort into showing up as u want. thats been my experience and I love the church, and im also not trying to disregard the fact that there probably are ppl who have had actual serious issues with ppl in the church, just like any other church. but most ppl just say this stuff simply bc they want to drink, smoke, etc., and do things that a lot of ppl do. u can do that if u want, but its obviously just not the norm. u have the freedom to do what u want. everyone in my experience has been very supportive and kind, and form a community (but there are the try hard mormons that read the scriptures every day which is weird LOL)
@@Super-mr4yn people in religions just tend to give unsolicited advice more often than atheists or agnostics. people dont like being told what to do, whether it's forced upon them or not. why do something they don't enjoy or listen to people who are giving advice no one asked for?
"you wanna trauma bond real quick?" 😂
Thanks for doing this! Yay for being exmormon!
I didn’t know that stuff about how they view people of color. I have a Mormon friend who was always trying to “save me” when I would hang out with her. Now I wonder how she really saw me…
That’s bc it’s not true. These people just hate the church so they’re fine spreading misinformation to make others hate the church.
As an Ex-Mormon this pleases my soul. I unfortunately can't drink due to health reasons, but it's still satisfying to watch.
You may have a frappe
You can watch me drink any time you want.
It makes me so sad that the religion instilled so many negative beliefs in these people. I’m glad they’re free.
Can't imagine the number of people out there with this mindset.
clicked SO FAST! i love hearing other ex-mormons talk about they’re experiences
If i may ask what were your experiences
How did you... escape??? 😮
Ditto
@@renosance8941 you never really escape to be honest because people still talk to you that are in the church, but it’s a LONG process
@@beachbellesounds like you never truly left if you still are around them enough to know they talk about you..... Fake ex Mormon
This is amazing. I once heard someone talk about needing to “recover from a religious upbringing” and as soon as that guy said “wanna trauma bond” I knew this would be an incredible video.
I was raised Mormon and that song at 8:10 unlocked repressed memories lol
i REALLY don’t want it stuck in my head haha
Pretty sure I disassociated 😵💫
>,< same... ahhhhhhhhhhhh
It gives me shell-shock in 3 languages. The benefit of having served a full-time mission...
As a former Mormon, God dammit, you've ruined 2024 for me with this comment, now get that shit outta my head before I curse some more 😂😂😂
Thank you for this video that I didn't know I needed to see. I was raised catholic but no longer a part of any religion. I believe in what you give out is what you get back.
I’m glad religious trauma is being talked about more these days.
Lmfao that line and the way it was delivered. “What was the first sinful thing that you tried once you left the faith” 🤣
Cut really stepped their game up
Anyone else experienced the absolute ick way that the bishops would make you feel when you were being forced to repent? Every single bishop I ever had would ask me to go into GREAT detail about any of my sexual “sins” they would ask questions like “did you have a climax?” “ how did it feel?” “Walk me through step by step exactly what you did and how you felt about it” 🤮 I alway felt like such a disgusting person when I would walk out of the bishops office. And don’t even get me started on the time they disfellowshipped me and the process that you have to deal with in the bishops office then!
Yes!! Little girls in there with the door locked and no parents around.. those conversations felt so wrong to the point I didn’t even want to tell my family because I felt ashamed
It was Def my experience 😢😢
The TRAUMA. My BYU Bishop was actually great and didn’t ask a single detail. He just said me being there was enough.
But the fact that there are so many Bishops asking invasive questions is insane. No accountability.
my dad is a bishop and this frightens me. I’m so, so sorry they did that to you and that is NOT ok EVER. I’ve not had this experience, thankfully, and I hope I never do.
It's sad that some of the few remaining community structures in society come from toxic places like this. We deserve to feel a sense of community and have community to rely on outside of bigoted indoctrination
I love seeing how free everyone has become!
I grew up Catholic, and while it's not quite the same intensity as Mormonism (in most cases,) I think any shame based faith is going to fuck a person up. I've been out for 7ish years now and I'm still navigating the impact it has had on me as a person.
I'd love to see this kind of conversation with ex-Catholics if you haven't done it already!
I felt this in my core. Ex-Mormon living in Utah I see this shit every day still. Also super funny this was uploaded on a Sunday.
I'd love to see episodes with people who have left other religions as well!! 👀 This was super interesting and I'm so happy for them to be living their best life now! ❤
I've never heard the part about the black skin being a curse. I guess the full lips, great hair and graceful aging was the icing.😊
And just overall beauty lol such a "curse"
The fact that she sang the whole damn song is criminal
I would like to see more of Bobby, he seems to have such a sweet soul. I loved everything he said and how intently he listened.
Bro, English wasn’t even spoken until nearly 3,000 years after the Tower of Babel…
That is what I was thinking.
Did she really say, "and he has LEFT me here" instead of sent? Beautiful.
Sending this to my dad who left the Mormon church at 16 in 1986 💖
This was a very sweet video. So glad these wonderful people left and are happy now
What an interesting topic... You always find kind people from every single circumstance
as soon as i saw this i said “aw ya i gotta see this” so thank you
I like the guy with a beanie. He’s really sweet!
These are all people I could totally see myself hanging out with and I would def never get welcomed into a mormon church or community. Happy for all of them to be able to do what's right for them and get out!
10:25 “Do not be afraid of Hell, sweet Angels. It is not real.” If there were a modern day book to read, it should say things like that. ❤❤❤
It’s great to get away from the conspiracies and evil prayers for a bit and remind myself why I despise them with my whole heart and soul 😌
I'm 19, antisocial, shy, introvert and all of that... the sense of community they talked about is honestly what's trapping me right now bc I'm still active even though I hate it.
It’s community at a very high price. Good luck finding your real community in the world, when you’re ready.
Social acceptance is never worth harming others by upholding terrible beliefs about them. This isn't even sincere; it's under the guise of you obeying.
Ohhh sweet babe, there's a chosen family out there that you deserve. Don't give up, we know its hard.
@@DA-js7xz How is this about others?
I’m mormon and believe 100% but I hope you’re able to leave and find your path. I’m sorry you’re forced into staying, that is and will never be okay. Good luck and I hope you find the right people for YOU
I grew up with non-mormon family in Orem, UT and judgmental BS I had to deal with was f**ked up. My first teenage kiss the girl ran off crying. Later found out it was cause Mormons told her it was the worst sin and she was overwhelmed with guilt.
But I made life long friends with other inactive Mormons in 90s.
I’m happy they got away but sad they had to go through it to begin with 😢 At least they are free now, I wish them all well ❤
Ex-Mormons are strong man. Hearing their stories is shocking to me bc as a kid I thought it was just as simple as going to church like I did as a kid. I know some Christians experience similar trauma but Mormons?….whew seems so intense.
This video helped bring out a lot of repressed feelings. Growing up emotionally and physically abused by die hard Mormons and watching them go to church Sunday and partake in the sacrament and practice their beliefs was sickening. My cherry on the cake for leaving was being told that my siblings and my mom could not be sealed together in the temple because she was not married. That’s a lot of fear to instill in a child that you cannot be together with your family forever because your mom was divorced. I didn’t officially stop practicing the religion until I was 15, and fortunately told everyone around me to F off when it came to going on trek. I remember a friend of mine was given the story of being pregnant during the journey but on the way she had a miscarriage and had to act out a birth with a doll and bury this doll in the ground. This doesn’t even begin to scratch the surface of my particular experience but man do I want to write a book about it.
As an exmormon, something I will always give mormons is how quick they will organize for those in need. When my heater broke in winter, one text to the relief society president, and we had 7 heaters delivered within the hour. When a mosque in our community was vandalized, our church opened our buildings for a place for them to worship. The meal trains for the sick and for new parents. The british members who made hijabs & had them at the train station for afgahni refugees who had them torn off while fleeing. If more of the religion was that, it could change the world for the better. The church does so much harm but has so much potential for good if they would drop all the toxic garbage.
I’m mormon and truly do believe a lot of what is taught but I really like hearing different perspectives. There is so much that is toxic, I can agree with you. Luckily, I’ve only noticed the toxicity in Utah/California (the only other places I’ve attended) and my ward is the most supportive and loving ward you’ll ever meet. I have a trans sister and when she transitioned and left the church everyone was supportive, never talked badly about her, and continue to love and support her choice to leave. (this is from her perspective, I asked) Anyways, thank you for sharing :)
Can we have one with former Jehovah's Witnesses?
former catholics too - all organized religions are freaking shame and control cults.
I used to go to JW services with my grandparents, they were 4-5 hrs long, we would read the entire Watchtower, it was awful.
@@momjeans9238 omg revelation reading this - not JW, but Catholic, but ages 2-5 I went to the daily catholic masses with my grandparents because my parents couldn't afford daycare for me like with my brothers.
They keep the Sunday mass sermon largely about God's love, but I got to hear about the mon-fri mass sermons about God's punishment. Developed religious OCD as a result (look into scrupulosity and tell me some religions don't encourage this distorted thinking)
@@eatingketchupchips9567 oh no my mouth just dropped. My parents were party people so I can see this being the reason for me too😳
@@eatingketchupchips9567 actually , meetings are only a little over an hour long, this is highly exaggerated.
I am not religious myself but I have met a many religious people as I am sure many of you have as well. But in my opinion the nicest people I have met have no religious preference or they are surprisingly Jewish lol
Making generalizations like that is the same thing the religious people you hate love to do. Maybe look at individual people instead of labeling entire groups as having one personality type. -Coming from an atheist
@@user-ff9mb1ts4u yes, I agree with that.
@@user-ff9mb1ts4u just stop. Religious people tend to be more exclusionary and bigoted. Hard facts.

Iconic that this is released a day after I submitted my formal resignation from the Mormon church 😂
Wait, what?
You need to submit a formal?
What does that mean and how does it work?
The guy with the 'Loser' shirt seems so chill. I wanna be friends with him :)
I have a book from my grandmothers collection that is pretty much teaching women how to be a good wife to her mormon husband. Well, there is a skin shading section... like why does the color of someones skin make you a better wife or not? I dont get it. People SUCK.
I love when ex any religious person exposes the absoute bull shit they are forced to believe
Also, same with people indoctrinated through advertisements and government propaganda. It's all fascinating.
This was great! I especially love what Bobby (spelling?) said about Hell. Loved them all.
I’d like to see a similar Truth or Drink done with former members of every fundamentalist religion.
Yep I'm bobby, & I appreciate you saying this!
It’s almost too perfect that they released this video on a Sunday💀😂
All these stories make me beyond grateful for never having religion shoved down my throat. My mom raised me without any religious pressure and encouraged exploration instead.
I can't imagine living feeling like anything I do is wrong and will have me sent to hell. These radical religions really become more about control than spreading love and having true faith.
Kudos to these peeps for leaving these cults!
My best friend is an ex mormon. The way her church treated her when she came out was absurd. This made me even more aware of the shit she went through as a child.
I LOVE ALL THESE PEOPLE!!! I’d love to see them talk their trauma out for hours!
Right there in the thumbnail 🙏🏻😂🙏🏻
Soaking is one of the most RIDICULOUS things I’ve ever had the chance to learn about by living in a large Mormon community.
I’m Jewish, the rabbi at our temple doesn’t feel great about marrying couples who’ve not slept together, he’ll do it but he encourages you to take a test drive at the very least.
Pragmatically sex is a big factor in marriages ending etc, if there’s ZERO compatibility you’re likely facing dissatisfaction and divorce.
That has got to be the most reasonable, realistic and rational take on sex I’ve ever heard from someone in a position of religious authority. I assume this is Reform Judaism?
I’m an atheist and left the Catholic church over 20 years ago (like 6 mo before the clergy abuse became huge news), but I’m pretty sure that if I’d been raised Jewish instead, I’d still be going to temple a few times a year.
I know it’s been like a year but it would be great to see ex Mormon who are islanders
Deconstructing Mormonism here!! So happy to see this episode and feeling I’m not alone
It would be really nice if we could figure out how to get a sense of community without organised religion.
Many of us do find community without organized religion - without ANY religion.
FOOTBALL!

Decentralized socialism. Right now, neoliberal capitalism isn't helping.
Huh? Community is what you make of it. Religion is absolutely not needed.
You guys should do this with Utah Mormons. They’re a whole different breed.
Ex hassidic and I relate to this so much ❤️
i used to be seventh day adventist and you have no idea how much i relate. religious extremism is so hard to explain
That was fun yet informative as well , loved it 👌
Soaking is so funny because it implies that God is all seeing but he can't see you having sex if someone else is helping like its Trex vision in Jurassic Park
One of my biggest gripes with heavily religious people is the laundry list of things you can and can’t do.
I’ll always identify as being Jewish, but from a religious context I have zero connection to the texts and at best I just try when it comes to holidays like Passover and Yom Kippur. I’m not going to hell if I don’t follow it properly. That’s a silly narrative.
It’s one thing to use religion as a tool to keep you grounded and spread love, but most of those people remain to themselves. It’s the genuinely hateful people that make their presence known.
Jews don't even believe in hell though
hell in any religion is to keep you compliant. If you go "off course" you will go to hell. Its a sick tactic to keep you scared
Uhm doesn't Judaism not really have a hell....? I thought Catholics invented that shtuff
@@chelsmeister As I said, I have absolutely zero connection or association to that stuff (nor do I care). I'm agnostic.
I haven't stepped in a temple since my Bar Mitzvah and that was twenty years ago.
i missed Bobby!!! Already thought he left Cut, so nice to see him back in a video 🎉🎉
Just been busy, but ty ty ty I ❤ u
When they talked about community I can only think about my friends going through the process of being excommunicated as a non-mormon. Finding out people I knew since kindergarten had older brother's and sisters that were excommunicated decades before. Really sad. Then listening to a co-worker try to get back into the good graces of the church so she could get married in the temple although she repledged or whatever they call it 7 years before that she had to jump through a new set of hoops to get married in the temple.
Do jehovah's witness and seventh day Adventist next they are truly nutty 😅
I left the LDS back when Facebook started kicking MySpace's ass. Even back then I managed to find lots of other exMos in the wild, to connect with, talk and meetup. These days it must be so much easier. The majority of fellow exMos I met did not fit in with any other religion, so most of them didn't join other faiths after leaving. So this group represents us pretty well.
I thoroughly enjoyed this video because it brought me exceedingly great joy. Verily I say unto thee, Cut. For thou doest the Lord's work.
as an exmormom i loved this
We see u fam
Great....now that damn song will be stuck in my head the rest of the day
Never realized a video can give me PTSD. Hearing some of the shit they said in the video, gave me some NAM like flashbacks. Glad I’m out of that church and never plan on taking my son there. Also fuck trek homie lucky he had some nasty soup. We had some burnt ass grits
Quick edit: gotta agree the sense of community is the best part of the religion. When I was young the reason I stopped going to church is because i didn’t really feel how most said they did about things like the “Holy Ghost” etc. I just liked going for the sense of community. But felt that wasn’t right so had my mom stop taking. It wasn’t until I started getting older and learning about the church on my own that I realized how batshit crazy they are.
Not the grits 😭 trek, both times, was such an awful experience
The soaking aspect is even funnier after watching jury duty!

i'm sad that these beautiful people were subject to this. (we can joke and all, but this is NOTTTTT okay.) you are all valid and beautiful and so cherished .
